  1. Had a similar issue when accounts were hacked. Can only offer the following. Always 2 cards with different banks and credit profile shut. I do not bank on line. Paper statements. Anything trip related is on Chase Sapphire when there is cancellation insurance and they could have coordinated covering real charges and stopped fake ones. They were great when it happened to us on a ship on the way to Italy for an extended stay overseas. Took 3 phone calls and they cleaned up the mess. My credit card number was copied at a restaurant and then evidently sold. I now walk my card to the register in the USA unless I know the people. Refunds for shore excursions will take weeks - sorry this happened
  2. Lots of discussion in ports. A bus ride across Panama is about 2 hours. We found it very long. This thread describes the visitor centers well, but thread is 7 months old.
  3. Absolutely. The helper who keeps things stocked is just as important as the one that serves you. Cannot imagine a crew working a bar would not pool their tips. I do know a few $$ to a server who works my handy bar gets me recognized and quickly served. How they share those tips is none of my business
  4. Really. FYI if Princess sources their wine in Florida they pay the same price as every retailer except for taxes. Those taxes are 70 CENTS on a 750ml bottle. Insignificant. Duty free on wine is not worth considering. Brought back a case of really nice wine from Australia and all CBP wanted was they duty. The minimum fee was $35. I paid that. They actual tax on a case of wine was $3! Take a look at restaurants and their prices for a glass of wine will be similar. You certainly have the right to choose. Drink less than say 5 drinks a day and don't buy the package. More and the package is a good deal.
  5. The crew does not know who has opted out of the automatic tipping. It also would not tell them anything as I usually opt out, but tip probably $40 a day for DW and self in cash (more to those who gave best service). Agree it is unfortunate that those with a no tipping culture - we lived in Australia - cannot go with the flow in places where tipping is the norm. What goes around comes around - had friends on a B2B who gave no tips. Service was poor on the second leg until I discussed tipping with the Aussies and they quickly handed out a bunch of envelopes with notes of apology and cash.
  6. You go to the casino and have the credits loaded onto your medallion. You need to bet all of the OBC $$. You can cash out any winnings. I suggest you speak with someone in the casino and they can walk you through exactly what to do. There are several steps. Yes, on a slot machine you will use the OBC credits first (you need to keep count). The casino cashier will pay your winnings in cash. You can play table games, but those game rules would make that harder for you
  7. You can have 4 devices logged in at the same time. If you have a phone and a laptop you would need to log out on the phone to use the laptop if 4 people are using the account.
  8. A Captain is responsible for the ship and all on board. Before commanding a ship they will have acted as 1st Officer in every port and ocean. They obviously err on the side of caution. A pilots license is for three things. The type of vessel. The maximum size permitted and last the waters they are certified. The Captain is limited in where they can go far northern and southern waters by international treaties- not insurance company rules. Captains obviously are experienced and qualified to sail in all scheduled waters and make deviations from planned courses often for various reasons - usually weather; such as Summit circumnavigation of Iceland instead of along the west coast to avoid a storm.
  9. Remember the minimum bid is the minimum bid permitted. It does not guarantee acceptance. All higher bids would be accepted before yours would be considered. A $300 bid would be unlikely to be accepted from interior to Aqua. More likely from Veranda to Aqua.
  10. Not sure I agree with the Concierge. Many people carry tests and choose not to report mild symptoms as they do not want to be quarantined if Celebrity tests and they are positive.
  11. Casino packages are different from the normal AI and cruise only fares. No idea what your deal was. In the future try calling on a regular weekday and your call will go through faster. The Elite DISCOUNT for upgrades on internet and beverages must be done precruise and cannot for some reason done on line. I usually don't bother with the extra few dollars.
  12. If you put in 4 claims with 4 booking numbers.
  13. Suggest you use US government cite for testing requirements. There are a few remaining. Australia/NZ and Colombia. Also some required testing cruisline specific to extended cruises. Above X% those onboard would be tested.
  14. On a TA the USDH (Health) must clear the ship before anyone disembarks. Passport clearance by CBP varies by port from show your passport and walk off - Boston, to waiting in long lines - usually Tampa. You never know. Had a police incident at the pier one cruise that froze everyone in place for 2 hours.
  15. If there is any sort of deal with additional OBC or perks it is ALWAYS worth a phone call. Calling in North America is free and you never know. I have twice received adjustments after final payment. Once from X and once from my TA.
  16. Celebrity is not a party cruise line. A few years ago a bunch of 20something passengers booked a 7 day cruise. Too much alcohol resulted in fights and damages along with the partiers being tossed off and arrested. Younger yes. Rowdy - absolutely not.
  17. Personal choice. Do you spend lots of time in your cabin or only there to sleep? Have had a suite and an inside cabin. Was happy in both. Had a mini suite with a 3rd person. Since it was a love seat except at night never an issue for veranda access. We always determine the cabin category by the perks attached to the category and if the extra $$ worth it to us. The answer is usually no. On an upcoming cruise scored a mini suite with a group fare at less than a regular veranda.
  18. Under 1 minute. Faster than trying to order it on the app.
  19. I would request a footstool if I wanted We have used our carryon suitcase
  20. To the OP. You need a Captain's Club number. Give Celebrity that number from Royal. FYI the upgrade has two limits. It is only available when you book and you must ask for it - not automatically applied. It is only a location didvount within the same category. Not worth very much.
  21. You seem to have strange comments. Not all income is reportable. There are some twenty categories of $$ received that are not taxable and many do not need to be reported on a tax return. You are confusing taxable with reportable. You do not report interest of many bonds including those from Puerto Rico, $$ paid at or less the Federal per diem rate from an employer and there are many others. Moving on.
