  1. Normally around Thanksgiving. Even Celebrity doesn't know the exact date! Probably the Black Friday sale.
  2. You would likely need to get assistance on board. The app was easy to download at either the Playstore- Android or Apple Store - iPhone. It is easy. FWIW - we do not use the cruiseline apps on board. A bit old fashioned. Will make reservations by walking to the restaurant etc. Have a paper list of activities. Definitely do not plan on carrying my phone around on my cruise. We also give the website one try - Princess failed. Then call in. If they can enter the data great. If not we simply show up with our confirmation, passports and covid info.
  3. Absolutely. The issue would be if you tried to take the ashore in say Australia. We have brought flowers on board in Colombia. Am sure you enjoyed them.
  4. Most AusEsie high end wines have small case numbers (often in the 1000 or under area) and are sold mostly in Australia and the US. Not enough to provide a continuing supply to Celebrity.
  5. I always took a black full size trash bag. Also left valuables on board. Took seapass, a credit card and a copy of passport in a zip lock bag.
  6. I understand what you meant to say. There are restrictions to prevent insects and stuff. For example plants and many food items are not allowed into Canada. Almost nothing flower, fruit or plants into Australia. Some stuff is strange such as potatoes cannot generally be transported without treatment between some provinces in Canada. Same with firewood.
  7. Most ports - fine. Suggest asking first as some ports have a quarantine on plant movement.
  8. Really? The Apple products are mostly at least one generation back in time. Not current models.
  9. And the last sea day or next to last night unless you have a late port call or a holiday.
  10. You will need "high speed " wifi package. There can be issues with bandwidth mid ocean.
  11. If it is working today. I tried yesterday without success.
  12. It is on Celebrity’s list of IT issues to fix. Along with booking cruises well after they were cancelled and have the mobile and website apps give different information for a much larger problem or two. At least not showing and cruises for the Mercury any longer.
  13. You will find prices are a bit lower than X. On a recent cruise about half of the normal spirits were out of stock. You won't know till you board what is available. X recently made some great substitutions for out of stock beverages .
  14. The OP said Long Beach did not work. Saving a few hundred $$ from a smaller airport? Is that a difficult choice? LAX and Heathrow along with several others are places to avoid if possible.
  15. I used a search on the internet to get bids from TAs in effect competing for my business. Did this after my long term TA retired. Called three TAs and found one in Michigan - smaller - that called me back and has assisted with multiple bookings with group fares and extra OBC. Try the search to get competing bids. Only took a few minutes.
  16. Impossible to predict levels of covid. Mask requirements seem to be a function of number of covid cases on the prior cruise and length of upcoming cruise. On our last cruise we began with no masking then moved to masks in casino and theatre venues then back to masks suggested in 12 days.
  17. Was told there are website issues. Flights, Dining, shore excursions, pretty much everything need to call. As for flights in September of 2023 - probably not worth the effort yet. Had 9 changes in August flight to Iceland in 4 months..
  18. Not an issue. Simply make a copy of the email and if on your second day on board the OBC does not appear then take the email to customer service. They will credit your account very quickly. Our credit in August was there when we boarded.
  19. The HoHo worked great in Valencia. Again lots of posts in the ports of call boards.
  20. As Jim said this is the norm in Boston for several years. You hold up.your passport if from the US and pretty much walk off.
  21. Passengers would have tested a day or two ago. No cruiseline has shared numbers of those who were on a B2B and tested positive on board or called bin because of a positive test. There were a few (under 5) that tested positive in Reykjavik last August for Summit.
  22. Sign in good. Tried to book shore excursions and was told was impossible now on line. Call in on Monday. Website only partially up.
  23. Have always seen much more expensive to add later.
  24. What would you think HAL could do to expedite your claim? Everything has delays today. I would wait the 30 days then contact the insurance company.
  25. Why would passengers not be prepared? Emails are sent out to passengers on any cruise that has testing requirements. Those are pretty limited today. Australia, Transatlantic, and a couple longer cruises. We get regular emails for a fall TA that we recently cancelled. If you put in a specific cruise it gives any required testing requirements as of about 10 days ago.
