  1. In the overall market, yes, but I suspect that NCL is well aware that that is not their typical/target passenger. There are many other people who believe that a 'fine' meal has nothing to do with the tablecloth or even how the food gets to your table. I think that Indulge is a clear indication that NCL is thinking in that direction. They probably can't retrofit an Indulge into other ships but perhaps they can do things to add some of that concept. Maybe they could re-purpose the American Diner since hardly anyone seems to like it anyway 😉
  2. Hold on please... Nobody has been 'forced' to eat at the specialty restaurants. Was the MDR closed? Was the buffet closed? Was Indulge closed? Was the Local closed? Anyone who has eaten more specialty meals has chosen to skip all of the complimentary options.
  3. If by 'chart' you mean when you pick an itinerary and click on 'VIEW DATES & PRICES' there are icons indicating which features are available for each room category and sailing date. The 3rd and 4th guest free is an outline of a person with a plus sign.
  4. You can take some comfort in the fact that Haven guests also see the same menu every day in 'their' dining room, and it is more limited than the Prima MDR menu...
  5. I'm not sure exactly what cruise and cabin type you are looking at, but the 8-day cruises on Getaway hardly look 'insane' to me.
  6. What public area are you thinking of? You are separated from the stairwell/elevator area by a door, and from the Haven lounge by the corridor and another wall. The only issue particular to that cabin that I can see might be hearing the door to the corridor opening and closing.
  7. Do you have a source for that? The only NCL connection to ocean liners that I can find is them buying and operating the France. There was a Norwegian American Line but they appear to have been entirely unrelated to NCL/Norwegian Caribbean Line.
  8. What type of room are you saying is smaller? Comparing the sizes given on the web site to the Escape for example it looks like both the interior and balcony of the standard Haven Penthouses are larger on the Prima. Same for the 2-BR Villa.
  9. Winds are 40kt+ in the Gulf of St Lawrence now, so probably no sense going into that if the upcoming port stops are already cancelled. On the other hand it's supposed to be a nice day in Quebec City.
  10. Being in plain sight of the Haven balcony next door! I want to use my balcony to get away from people, not to see and be seen.
  11. If I had this view from my balcony the slide would be the least of my concerns!
  12. Maybe, but keep in mind that those photos were not taken from the official balcony. If you look at the floorplan the only balcony shown is the typical rectangular balcony on the side of the ship and it is listed as 45 square feet, which would not include the angled area where the photos were taken from. I think if you stood on the 'real' balcony where the lounge chair is you would get a considerably different view.
  13. I seem to recall seeing prices for a few bottles on a menu somewhere on our last cruise. I don't believe you can consume liquor you buy in the duty free shop or bring on board at embarkation or a port stop.
  14. Fiona should be far from the Caribbean by the end of next week, so I'd be surprised if they are making changes beyond then.
  15. NCL seems to be putting just about as many ships as possible in Alaska, so between that and Europe there are not many ships left for anywhere else, and the Caribbean is probably lower revenue than most other itineraries.
  16. The unfortunate fact is that COVID has put cruise lines billions in debt. Business as usual is probably going to be too little to late to address that, so they need to make changes, most of which are not going to be adding value for passengers. People who are unhappy with this change are free to switch to another line that still has rotating MDR menus, but I'm sure that they will soon learn what those lines are doing to reduce costs and may be just as unhappy about that...
  17. What type of cabin? Standard balcony or something else?
  18. I'm not sure I understand your point, but if the noise/vibration is a serious issue that deserves to be talked about then it should be in a separate topic. The title of this one is clearly about slides. If other issues get thrown in here then only people who also are interested in the slides are going to see the discussion. I certainly don't follow every topic on this board and I'm sure others don't either.
  19. This is interesting but has nothing to do with the slides. I suggest that someone who has experienced this noise/vibration first-hand start a new topic.
  20. That's not quite correct. The slides were not announced or shown on the early Prima renderings. The version of the Prima home page from August 12 2021 does not show them. It looks like the update on September 20 introduced the slides along with the go-kart track. I know it was speculated about on here earlier but that would not have been general knowledge or confirmed.
  21. It doesn't make up the difference, but you do get 20% more cruise on the Spirit... I also see that the Feb 2023 NZ cruise on Celebrity (Eclipse not Edge) is priced much closer to NCL, which is about the same in 2023 and 2024. Maybe this is just NCL's market to fill strategy compared to whatever pricing model Celebrity uses. Also, Spirit is not such a big ship so there are fewer cabins available, at least compared to Edge.
  22. Since Onda is on the Prima and Viva it appears to be on the 'go forward' list. Ocean Blue, on the other hand might have been superseded by Palomar.
  23. I have seen a video on YouTube that shows the menu. It looks like there is one offering per night from one of the specialty restaurants. The one on the menu was a $15 upcharge. Not sure if that price would vary or not.
  24. Another one of those threads that didn't live up to the title... 😉
  25. Interesting. I wonder how they calculate the percentage? Are they looking for anything within a 180 degree view side to side and up and down?
