  1. I'd guess that it is hinged so at most your feet might slide down it at an angle. Other ships already have these so maybe you could find a video that shows the operation.
  2. Thanks, but I still don't think he is saying they will never discount. He says their core strategy is market to fill, but I don't see why that would exclude discounting at times when it makes sense. These are unusual times and there is probably more discounting than usual and more than they would like, but does it mean they have abandoned their strategy? I'd say probably not.
  3. Do you have a source for FDR saying that they won't discount? I think that is twisting his words. I just checked the Q2 earnings presentations and there is a whole slide on marketing and nowhere does it say that they will not discount.
  4. Early reports on Indulge noted that there would be a charge for some items/at some times, so nobody should be surprised or disappointed if they do that.
  5. That photo looks highly edited. From all of the other photos I have seen I think the actual color is darker and less saturated.
  6. I don't know if Indulge will have menus in the traditional sense. I can see them doing rotating items somewhat like the stations on the buffet. For example, the Indian section of the buffet has a few items every day, but they change from day to day. So the BBQ stand might have ribs one day, pulled pork the next, etc.
  7. How do you get 11? I see 3 meatless, 5 seafood and 6 meat. Then there are enough pasta choices to arguably count as another 2 and finally the signature item, so that makes 17. I could easily make a meal just out of the small bites and salads also.
  8. I'm on a December Prima cruise and from what I can tell Vibe has sold out.
  9. Where are the blocks for the Queen Anne built? They seem to have arrived in Venice more assembled than the Prima and Viva. Could they do the same with Leonardo 3?
  10. But now with the Prima class isn't Indulge everything that the Great Outdoors is an more?
  11. I believe the Bliss and Encore were in fact designed with Alaska in mind. Not sure about Prima. Both the Prima and Viva will be cruising the Caribbean, and I believe that Viva is going to spend quite a bit of time in the Med. It could be that NCL just believes that people don't care that much about a big pool. I saw a video review of a trip on the Scarlet Lady, which apparently has a particularly small pool, and the reviewer said that they were told by a Virgin marketing executive that that decision was based on customer feedback. Of course NCL is not Virgin, but I'm sure they have plenty of customer input also, so maybe the pool is smaller because of other considerations than destinations.
  12. Is it just me or do the two waves on the next to last logo suggest motion in a not-so-good way? The single wave on the current logo seems more serene.
  13. Onda is on other ships so you can find menus online. No Palomar menus that I have been able to find.
  14. Given that the Prima still has the wave I would not say that the terminal is an evolution. As for the Prima, I can think of a couple of reason why they just went with the letters and the wave: 1. The funnel shroud is curved so it might be more complicated that it's worth to fashion the background piece of the logo. 2. The funnel shroud is an artistic element and the full background of the logo would have covered it up excessively.
  15. I think it depends on how you look at it. It appears that the extra guests do in fact not pay the base price, but they do pay taxes and gratuities. Still a good deal IMO. As I recall we booked a 3rd person once (with no promo in effect) and their base price was around 1/2 of the first two, so you are probably saving $500 or more for each person.
  16. If the cruise lines stop isolating people with COVID that would not be following; it would be going against CDC recommendations. This update was only about people who are exposed, not infected.
  17. Choron is a minor variation of Bearnaise, which I believe is on the Haven dinner menu, and Bearnaise is a variation of Hollandaise, so it seems likely that they could manage that fairly easily one way or another.
  18. You should ask that in the Royal/Celebrity forums. We're having enough trouble here just understanding the NCL requirements! 😉
  19. The remnants of hurricanes and tropical storms often track along the coast up through that area, but of course those are not that common. I'd guess that the chances of it happening are pretty similar in August and September. Newport has its mansions which seem to have become more of a tourist attraction than in some other places, but apart from that I don't know of anything that really sets it apart from other New England coastal cities. If it's your one visit to the area I think that Portland would give you pretty much the same flavor as Newport.
  20. I mean better shape than when they reported Q1 which was the context of that assertion.
  21. Financially, yes, but thanks to rolling back the testing and vaccination requirements they are in better shape to sell cruises going forward.
  22. Yes, something more descriptive might have helped for the other topic. But anyway this is CC, so why have just one thread on a subject when you can have two or more? 😉 I am not really following the data much at this point, but it seems to me that there might just not be enough evidence to say that 10% or 20% vaccinated is really any safer than 100%, so why not keep it simple?
  23. Could be wrong, but the way I read it they will verify everything when you embark from the US port. Since it says "Guests must select "Arriving by Ship." I take that to mean they are not referring to embarkations from Canadian ports.
