  1. We’ve been in an Edge class Celebrity suite several times. The pullout bed and also the sofa part are hard as a rock and even a mattress topper couldn’t help. We always ask for a rollaway bed to be brought in.
  2. I always assume that folks want to knit the captain (or cruise director) a hat with their name on it as a present when they ask this type of question.
  3. It’s been a while since I’ve booked through FBC, but there are notations in the different fare classes whether it was refundable or not. Seat selection won’t trigger payment.
  4. Sometimes there are nonrefundable fares on FBC which would be charged at the time of selection. Maybe you got one of those by mistake?
  5. I guess it's ship dependent. While there's not the small buffet of hors d'oeuvres, like on E class, we are almost always asked if we'd like anything, and the bar servers bring them from the back. Agree that it can be super quiet, but then again, we like that.
  6. To each their own, I guess. We love the old Michael's Club vibe on the original S class ships. We find the chairs to be much more comfortable and love the dark wood atmosphere more than the E class ships.
  7. Seems like a lot of hassle and work to get a "free" transfer. I'd just take a taxi. Even though the rate is stated for intra-port transfers inside the taxi, I'd probably still offer the driver the amount it would be to go to the airport as they probably had to wait a while in line to get your fair. Seems like the $20ish you'd spend is well worth not having the stress.
  8. Are you looking at an itinerary where the ship is currently out of the UK or Australia? They add in the gratuity to items on those cruises, which would give you the $12 since they round.
  9. Celebrity generally shifts to port time. In 20+ years of sailing with them, I only remember one cruise where we didn’t.
  10. For RS and above (and Signature in Reflection) there no dollar limit at Sushi on 5.
  11. I bought a Xikar XFlame Electronic Lighter, which uses a lithium ion battery. They are allowed on planes and on the ship (I take the battery separately in my carryon) and have never had an issue. I've never been able to get a regular lighter to work on the ship as the conditions are usually too windy. Also, cutters are allowed.
  12. To directly answer your question, we have used Larry’s limo for years when we need transportation in South Florida like what you’re requesting. https://larryslimo.com/
  13. Also depending on where your tender goes, it may be better anyway to take the ship excursion because the ferry boat docks right by there. Some ship’s tenders go directly to town, but ours went to Mykonos port, which would require you to take a shuttle to town to catch the ferry to Delos. Our ship excursion left directly from Mykonos port saving the time. With time at a premium sometimes it’s just better to do a ship excursion.
  14. Out of curiosity, who is the HD? Did they ever follow up with you with your last issues you sent an attention to detail card saying about acknowledging your concern?
  15. On a recent cruise, the server in the Gelato bar was new and was not aware that the upper suites had unlimited Gelato. One would have thought that was one of the key elements her supervisor would have told her when she started. A quick trip to the retreat host solved the issue, but it's the small things you shouldn't have to raise.
  16. I agree with @chemmo. We've been charged for the extras (upgraded steaks, etc) on some ships and not others. I usually have a lot of OBC to burn through so it's not a big deal, but in typical Celebrity fashion, including the upgrades is inconsistent.
  17. I was on this cruise and was also upset they cancelled the ports as this was the third time trying to get to Israel. However, I am also glad that Celebrity was able to pivot at such short notice and keep us safe. I can only imagine all of the sleepless nights the backoffice staff and crew had to make sure we still were able to have a great cruise. I must strongly disagree with your statement “X told everyone they were “working on something” and we would receive an email from X regarding compensation after the cruise ended.” I was traveling with 3 other suites, including one of the Penthouses. At no time were any of us told this or provided any information similar to what you’re claiming. Do you have this in writing? I read the cruise contract while on board and they can substitute ports at anytime with no compensation. None of us expected a goodwill gesture as they provided a 10 night cruise, which is all that's called for in the contract. In this case, I’m good with that.
  18. The store only sells items. The classes are super basic, if they still have them (like how to use an Ipad). They do not do repairs.
  19. The last time we did this, I shipped items to our hotel or AirBnb. You'll have to take it from there to the ship, but that's way easier than the alternative.
  20. Some of us love the S and M classes of ships way more than Edge class.
  21. I’d only consider getting one onboard if you have OBC to burn through. If not, you’ll probably find much better deals on land.
  22. If you want a change of pace and something different it is. I usually don’t ever do speciality restaurants unless I have OBC to burn through.
  23. With respect to the last part, all that video does is report second hand info from someone in that group who always seems to have issues with things. Agree with @jelayne that service isnt horrible but there are fewer staff around and those that are working are maxing out.
  24. Check out PK Travel. We used them in October 2023 to go to Delphi. It was an amazing day and the company is top notch. https://www.pktravelgreece.com
  25. We have booked cruises for others with no difficulty. We were not on the other cruise. You just need their info including birthdates.
