  1. You don't even order the Uber/Lyft until you're at the pick up area. I've done this several times at SeaTac and it's exceedingly simple.
  2. I'm surprised that anybody would care one iota what @BirdTravels and @ChiefMateJRK are looking at while they patiently wait in a short line to hand over their bags.
  3. Uber/Lyft have become my transports of choice. They are super easy to pick up at SeaTac and I've never waited more than five minutes. You pick up your bags, take an elevator. Walk over to the parking garage and follow the signs.
  4. My guess, and it is just that, is that it wouldn't be covered.
  5. It's mainly because unless the loss (emergency medical treatment or med-evac) is caused by a pre-existing condition, then I don't believe it makes any difference. As an example, I break my leg 30 days before I buy insurance at final payment and re-break it on the cruise. Treatment and evac would likely not be covered. OTOH, I have a bad test result 30 days out but go on the cruise anyways. I break my leg. That would be covered, because the loss was not caused by a pre-existing condition. I am not a lawyer or insurance agent and have no idea if this is correct or not. That's just how I've interpreted things. This is the verbiage in my latest Nationwide policy: "Loss caused by or resulting from: 1. Pre-Existing Conditions," To your point, if I have any bad test results within 60 days prior to final payment/insurance purchase, I may consider cancelling the cruise since they could escalate and cause me to miss the cruise for medical treatment. I've actually been in that situation, but fortunately the test results came back good.
  6. I order that pho on every cruise that has a Food Republic. I find it to be delicious.
  7. When did the Star add a Spinnaker OL?
  8. Amen. Preach it brother!! I've never seen any value in a cruise director. They just seem to show up at the ends of shows and want me to sit there and listen to them blab.
  9. No need. I just changed my post reaction from LOL to "thanks" for valued forum member @KeithJenner's entertaining post. Keith adds a lot of great content here.
  10. Thanks. It sound's like (unfortunately) you were in a situation that made the pre-existing conditions waiver very meaningful. That said, I think some may not fully understand what value it does (and doesn't) add. I was certainly in that group for a long time. I think that many/most understand the risks at final payment and can make appropriate decisions. I mostly buy trip insurance for foreign medical and med-evac coverage. I don't believe that coverage for either of those is impacted by pre-existing conditions.
  11. Are you asking about "cruise tours" or shore excursions?
  12. I'm curious. Do you folks have pre-existing conditions that you feel may cause you to cancel your cruise? I don't generally buy until final payment, and I've been buying policies that have a 60 day look back for pre-existing conditions. As I understand it, that means if I develop a condition that causes me to cancel my cruise, and it wasn't something that I (or perhaps a family member) was diagnosed/treated/tested for within the 60 days prior to the policy purchase, then I'm covered. Am I mistaken about this?
  13. Thanks, but it would be simpler to just say pants and a shirt with some kind (any kind) of collar, since that's what it ultimately boils down to. I've only been victimized by the fashion police once. I tried to enter the MDR at about 9 at night just for a dessert. This was a warm weather cruise, and I had inadvertently violated the rules one or two times previous. I was told that I would have to change while the others sat around. We, of course, just went somewhere else for dessert and went on with our happy cruise.😎
  14. Yeah, I agree. As mentioned earlier, half the people don't tip anything, so I'm sure that any amount is appreciated. On our last cruise, the porter was really a take charge guy (greatly appreciated in the chaos that is the Miami NCL terminal) and I think I gave him a 5.
  15. Yep. There was a one-of-a-kind report recently of a mix up while adding something to a fully paid reservation where, allegedly, the entire cruise was unilaterally cancelled by NCL. Don't be the next.
  16. I quit working years ago. Phrases like "smart casual," "business casual," etc. have zero meaning to me. If you tell me I have to wear pants or have a collar on my shirt; that I can understand. Cmon' NCL, speak the language of your customers.
  17. Some call them "keys", as in short for key card, which everybody fully understands.😎
  18. I find the Sky/Sun ships and the Jewel class ships to be very similar. All have observations lounges and the Great Outdoors bar/bufffet. We just got off the Sky in Feb and had a similar experience to that other poster. Rock show in the theatre was great. We watched it twice. I thought the comedian (Flip?) was better than average. I didn't like the musicians as much as on other ships. That said, it has recently been reported that Alexa is going to soon be on the Sky. I would sail the Sky just to listen to Alexa again.
  19. 4/22 sailing: Six: Sunday and Tuesday at 7:00 and 9:30. Jersey Boys: Wed and Thur at 6:30 and 9:30
  20. You thought I was kidding? I may soon have the opportunity to prove to you that I wear slippers on a cruise ship. Just sayin'... Reminds me of a breakfast in the buffet on an AK cruise a few years ago. I was still struggling to wake up and get the first Bloody Mary going, when I was stopped dead in my tracks by the fanciest slippers I have ever seen. Some lady had a pair of those big fluffy bear/beast slippers with big paws/claws sticking out the front. I couldn't help but raise my voice and proclaim NICE SLIPPERS!! She was flattered/complimented but I'm guessing I may have ruined breakfast for the non-slipper crowd. Stick with the Chief GG, we'll get you there.😎🐀
  21. I tried that once and my bag was never seen again! 🤣(jk)
  22. I've used the same photo for my last six cruises.
