  1. There are several different versions. If there is one that you specifically want, I would suggest you see the maitre'd (sp) when you board, and find out which menu will be served on which night. Regarding special requests (i.e. gluten), the whole dinner is choreographed and delicately timed. The only menu that matches the animation is the primary. They do offer the alternative items, but those will not match the show. I think if you have more specific request than the two offerings, this might not be the restaurant for you. YMMV, of course.
  2. Costa Maya is regularly cancelled due to high winds, tho I cannot confirm what you read this week.
  3. Yes you can go out of the gate, there is a row of vendors out there. I wasn’t looking for a taxi, so I can’t help there.
  4. This also results in more kids on the sailing, which may or may not be of concern to you.
  5. This is exactly what I do. It works very well, both for convenience and with budgeting. I also make sure I bring plenty of small bills with me for miscellaneous tips. It would never occur to me to use Guest Service agents as bank tellers.
  6. Waaay off topic, but there is a local bar that features an ax throwing area. What could possibly go wrong? You can't make this stuff up, here in Redneck Central Florida. Back on topic: I have seen one of those quilting cruises, which included machines. Just don't be tacky and take up a large area of the OVC like they did.
  7. https://www.cruiseconnection.travel/ https://book.thecruiseexpress.com/Tours/Cruise_Express_Florida https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/386-florida-departures/ Two bus options, plus the Florida Departures page here on Cruise Critic.
  8. A bit of pre Covid, pre hurricane trivia: For many years, and maybe still now, Mr. Tablecloth was the only store on that street in downtown Charlotte Amelie that was NOT a jewelry store. Post Covid / hurricane visits yielded a lot of empty storefronts, hope that has changed.
  9. The Aquarium is near Mambo beach, not too far, and a common destination. Grote Knip is all the way the top of the island, will be a pretty expensive cab ride - probably over $100 each way. There will be plenty of cabs, very reliable.
  10. This is 2024 - Wi-Fi is everywhere, including the entire mall on the way to town. You can even sit outside and access it if you don't want to sit in Starbucks or the hotel lobby.
  11. I've gone to JVD a couple times with Aristocat. They have a taxi bus at the port to drive you to Soper's Hole West End, then you take their catamaran over to JVD - although they have never raised the sails, always some excuse. You have probably 4 hours over there. You have to wrangle up your own group, they require 12 to go. They also have another catamaran that goes to different islands (I think Norman and Peter), which leaves from a marina just a few blocks from the port. If they are offering a trip to West End to get the scheduled ferry over to JVD, you can just do that on your own. Cab fare would be approx. $25 each way, as I recall.
  12. Glad I am not the only one who finds that poster's frequent derisive comments about cruisers unnecessary and not at all humorous. I have had him/her blocked for years, but still see the posts sometimes when quoted. @whee-sailing, don't bother asking. Poster has mean spirited little descriptions of cruise guests called towels and terds, and is happy to repeat them. Best to ignore him/her.
  13. Point here - the Noordam was built in 2006. 18 years is a hardly relatively new. By contrast, last year I sailed 21 days on the 2 year old Rotterdam, came home, and promptly cancelled my next 3 Celebrity cruises. Not negating your experiences, but mileage may vary. EDIT - just saw this is a very old thread. Nevermind.
  14. Unless you want to rent a couple SUVs, the bus is probably the easiest. Not familiar with the Red Bus, but check https://www.cruiseconnection.travel/rates/ Picks up in Ft Myers 7:30, returns 2:30
  15. Perhaps. But if OP can stop even one person from calling a magnificent ship something normally reserved for a pet poodle ("Millie" , "Connie"), then it is a good day, IMO.
  16. This. On the sister Enchanted, after investigating all, I found that I preferred the Aft DR for dinner (forgot the name). It was a bit smaller, definitely quieter and less frantic. A plus for me, it is just underneath and one stair flight down from the Vista Lounge, pre dinner spot for elite happy hour. Sip a cocktail or two, grab one for the road, and easily head downstairs for dinner.
  17. Try these folks, Park Port Canaveral at the Radisson. Their web site says wheelchair friendly, and there was a power chair on the shuttle I took last time I parked there. https://www.parkportcanaveral.com
  18. Or download the Port Everglades phone app, it goes out a month, rather than just a week.
  19. They pick up at Dock Martin, about halfway to town. Easily walkable in the morning, it's a little less fun walking back in the afternoon, depending on how many rum punches you consume onboard. Walk left along the sidewalk once you get through the taxi pickup area and exit the port. Chesterfields restaurant is right there if you arrive early and want a cup of coffee or breakfast. Enjoy, it's my go to activity when in St Maarten.
  20. @Tina99 Here's where you avoid the sales pitch. Resist the urge to check off that you have insomnia, sore muscles and headaches (who over 40 doesn't 😁?). They analyze your concerns and then offer a product or service to alleviate it. Leave the complaint section of the questionnaire blank.
  21. Thanks for sharing your experience. As you said, the Orlando route is relatively new, so reviews are welcome. I live along the route and as the train passes, you cannot see inside. I'm curious, about how full was your particular ride? Local naysayers insist this northern leg is not well utilized.
  22. If you find want to drive a bit further than Pooler, the Kingsland GA exit is also a very popular stop. All chain hotels are represented, and many restaurants. That is just above the FL boarder. Either stop, just be mindful of the unpleasant Jacksonville traffic, and avoid passing through during AM or PM rush hours.
  23. This is a couple years old, I believe the price has gone up. However, the garage limitations and contact info should be the same.
