  1. On Arcadia in August there were wine waiters in MDR and they kept your bottle for the next night. Maybe depends on the ship. They all seem to have slightly differing practices.
  2. C deck balconies are the biggest, and provide some shade and privacy. However D deck cabins have slightly smaller overlooked balconies but more inside space if that is important to you.
  3. Have been on Arcadia, Ventura and Britannia over the past few months and thought Arcadia was in as good a state as the other two. Lots of new carpet and furniture and cabin had been refreshed. She was very clean and tidy, in fact better than Ventura I thought.
  4. Rarely use the buffet as I do not do breakfast and prefer lunch and dinner in dining room. Had a look at buffet on Iona, although never used it, and it looked a bit small for size of ship.
  5. Was on her in August to Baltic. Great cruise, no complaints.
  6. Have always paid less for single occupancy of a balcony than the price for a couple on P&O. However Celebrity used to charge solos more than double fare which is why I stopped using them.
  7. Still Syndicate Quiz on Arcadia, but not on Britannia.
  8. Do Randox, Prenetics, etc, on line tests supply a results certificate showing positive result?
  9. No separate veggie menu but noticeably more veggie choices on menus than there used to be.
  10. Agree. Be sociable, go to the lunch, meet people and enjoy it.
  11. Remember seeing that crack on the deck, and a smashed window below it on Lido deck. Took ages for it to be repaired.
  12. Pretty sure the ferry runs on Sunday. It is probably the busiest day surely?
  13. Judging by the numbers attending it seems a lot of folk enjoy them.
  14. Have been Ligurian for years. No big deal - very little difference between top three tiers.
  15. If you develop a condition after taking out insurance you must inform insurers ( and pay extra premium if necessary ) or you will not be covered for it.
  16. You do not get compensation for missed ports from P&O. That is what cruise insurance is for. Need to get letter from reception before getting home though.
  17. Was told by my steward that. quarantine cabins are placed over the kitchen area to allow for ease of food delivery to the occupants (which he was involved in after finishing his morning duties). Sounds logical.
  18. Porto Venere. Only half an hour from La Spezia and a lovely place to go for lunch.
  19. You will be directed to the appropriate lane for dropping off by the marshals there.
  20. P&O "champagne" is slightly more drinkable now than the stuff you used to get in your fridge on formal night (Baron de Marck I think it was called - horrible).
  21. I can walk up stairs but difficult walking down as I have arthritic knees. But nobody would know. I always give up my place in the lift if necessary as I am never in a hurry!
  22. Aft cabins (700 plus) have been closed off for quarantine since last Autumn. And they wait until now ( when ship is filling up) to inform of changes. It is outrageous.
  23. At the cruise terminal at the end of the waterfront. Can recommend the ferry to Porto Venere. It is stunning. There is also a bus there which takes about half an hour and only a few euros.
