Absolutely agree. Did August Arcadia Baltic this year too and it was one of the best cruises ever. In fact would not fancy cruises with SPB as have done it six times and did not even get off there the last time!
Riga,Visby, Tallinn, Skagen, Fredericia - need I go on?! Baltic and Scandinavia are wonderful without SPB. Just left Copenhagen, now in Oslo on Arcadia. Americans are very scared of risk. Shame.
Rock bottom prices and generous obc in order to fill the large ships, and more expensive cruises on smaller ships selling out shows the latter are currently still popular. My recent cruise on Iona cost £1000 - my cruise today on Arcadia is four times as much, but will be worth it for me personally. Each to their own.
Andy Willard on one Caribbean Xmas cruise was absolutely hilarious. Joined in everything, including the pantomime in a pink tutu. Also saw him rollerblading down the jetty. What a character.
Cruise last week was £779 for single occupancy of balcony saver or £1000 with £400 obc select. Would not get decent B&B for £55 per night where I live! Practically giving it away.
Nothing wrong with Butlins. Went there several times with friends in my 20's and had good times. They provide value for money holidays for tight budgets. Same as Iona. No disrespect should be meant to either when making the comparison.
As anyone would expect, have heard good and bad reviews from across all age groups. Depends a lot on budget and kind of holiday one wants. Horses for courses - luckily! There is something for everyone out there.
Possibly, but also maybe the fact that they are practically giving Iona cruises away which may affect the demographic also. Enough said! It is like Marmite. Just need to accept that and pick the ship you prefer. On Iona at present there are many elderly folk and on Arcadia twice this year it has been a very mixed age range.
