  1. Thats my point, Celebrity = 2 cards, 2 drinks, 1 person. NCL = 2 cards, 4 drinks, 1 person.
  2. My only complaint about Celebrity vs. NCL is how the beverage pkg. works on for Celebrity. On Celebrity it's one drink per person with the drink package, so if you want to grab drink for you and your partner you need both cards... NCL was (at least on my final cruise with NCL) two drinks per person, so you could actually grab your partner a drink without their card. Other than that, everything IMO is better on Celebrity. The basic drink pkg is up to $9 for everything (beer, mixed drinks, wine) Not a huge wine drinker here, but on Apex I did not see many $9 or less glasses of wine... If you go over the $9 your account is charged the difference plus 20% gratuity. Apex does not have a basketball court, there is table tennis, cornhole (bags) boards, pool volleyball... Apex is the reason I will probably never get on a NCL ship again (my last NCL cruise was on Encore)
  3. I don't ever recall being searched before leaving the ship in port...Getting back on is obviously different.
  4. I love the E-class ships, was only on Apex, but was I absolutely loved it. I have 2 more cruises booked on Beyond. I can't really comment on the IV staterooms because I've only been in aft cabins on all my cruises, doubt I'd like them, but will probably never know. Any issues I had on Apex were Celebrity issues, not the ship.
  5. A lot of folks like the cold A/C in the Caribbean, because its typically very hot in the Caribbean in July.
  6. Just "miss" the departure, cruise lines seem to have no problem leaving passengers behind at a port, just turn the tables and "leave" them behind. Getting off with all your luggage may be an whole other issue however.
  7. Just pay the $250 fine and smoke where you please.
  8. I typically take $75 in $5's and $25 in singles and distribute where I feel the need. I usually tip the room steward $50-$100 and that comes from my casino winnings... 🙂
  9. Its fresh water for about the first hour of the day, after that its a mix of water, sunscreen, booze, and who knows what else, by about 3pm on a sea day you cant see the bottom of the pool. 🙂
  10. I thought about purchasing this for a cruise I was on in March, decided against it. I think in the future I will purchase it or figure some other plan out. The reason is Celebrity's drink policy, 1 drink per person, if you want to enjoy some drinks on your balcony, your really not enjoying drinks on your balcony because your having to run to a bar to get a fresh one every time. On my first day I tried to order a "bucket of beers" at the pool bar to take back to my cabin, to be told I was stupid to pay for them when I had the drink pkg. and was shamed into not buying them. As much as I dis-like NCL for nickel and diming you, at least they allow 2 drinks per person...
  11. Other than never removing the "do not disturb" from outside the door I doubt it. I was on Apex in March and told our room steward face to face on one occasion to just empty the trash and fresh towels for the day. She did up the whole cabin in the morning and evening after the request.
  12. I would highly recommend Eden and book it now, it will be sold out by the time you get on the ship.
  13. Marlboro cigarettes are the Number 1 sold item ever in the history of the world. Just saying. I to can not stand the smell...
  14. Had 3 adults in a standard balcony cabin and will never do it again.
  15. Must be HORRIBLE to get off the ship after only being on it for 16 hours.
  16. Was considering a solo October cruise on Infinity, I love the itinerary and IMO a great deal. Defiantly re-considering after hearing the horror stories going on. I get it that its the first cruise on this ship in 2 years, but these issues are not a "rusty crew" it sounds like the ship is in dis-repair and maybe shouldn't be sailing. I can get past a rusty crew, defiantly not a rusty ship...
  17. Infinity was Celebrity's crew covid ship for two years, doubt much was upgraded or even replaced in the 2 weeks it was preparing for paying passengers.
  18. Agree with the OP 100% I work hard to afford my vacations and am there to enjoy/relax, have a GREAT time. Cut out my whining/complaining brother in law from any vacation I go on after a NCL cruise where he was non stop complaining about anything (imo non of his complaints were valid) I was on Apex in March 2022 for my first X cruise. It was an awesome experience, so much so, I have 2 more X cruises booked. The crew did an outstanding job, despite being short staffed, all the little things that may have been different because of the short staff, did nothing to affect my vacation.
  19. Nice, good for you. I have a Jan 2023 and March 2024 on Beyond both in SV. I usually don't book that far in advance, but word has spread on the IV vs. SV... and I love the aft cabins, if plans change no harm...
  20. I did it on Apex in March (first one ever on Apex) Glad I did it, will not do it again on any ship. The best part was going into the bridge. I was hoping to see the engines, but we just went into the control room which is just a bunch of monitors.
  21. I was in 11272 on Apex and had none of the potential issues you mention. The only issue may be waiting to long, as the SV sell out fast.
  22. Better book an Aft cabin soon. For Dec 2022-April 2023 Beyond cruises, the aft cabins are all but gone already.
  23. There are no cigar lounges on Apex and I don't think they sell cigars either. There are 3 smoking sections on E-class ships. Port side aft on deck 5 near Eden, starboard side near sunset bar deck 15, and starboard side deck 15 near pool bar/mast grill.
  24. I booked an excursion on Apex back in March shortly before my cruise, I think it showed up a day or two before I booked it, two days later the excursion was cancelled. I do think there are staff problems still lingering around. I ended up doing the exact excursion on my own, so it must have been Celebrity's operator for the excursion... Not sure. Seemed strange to me that it showed up just before the cruise and then was quickly cancelled.
  25. The 2024 cruise I've been eyeing went down to were it was two "sales" ago. Much less expensive than the Memorial Day sale...
