  1. We’ve done both Breakaway and the Prima. If I were choosing, I would choose Prima. The ship is really unique with lots of places to kick back and relax. Your sea days may be more crowded inside, and the ship may rock-n-roll with some cabin creaking…but that’s part of the adventure. Just don’t stay in cabins where people have clearly stated that the noise is unbearable. Search this Forum and you’ll get an idea which ones to avoid. Bring seasick meds for sea days, too. Prima food was excellent on our cruise, and the MDR Hudson’s was stunningly beautiful with wal-to-wall endows across the aft. Donna Summer Show was great and Price Is Right was fun. I’m sure you will enjoy whichever cruise you decide to take.
  2. I agree it is nice to get first hand insight. Thanks again for your post.
  3. We understand the reason for the cuts, but they are DEEP and have started to greatly impact the NCL cruise experience. We have one more cruise in 2023–which was booked in 2022 before the 2023 budget constraints. Even though I continue to shop for cruises, we currently have no NCL cruises booked for 2024. There are a couple we would like to book but likely won’t book anything until after January 2024 when another round of budgetary impacts (good or bad) are announced. We do have a “trial” MSC cruise in August, I just wished MSC had more US departure ports and itineraries. Might have to do a look-see at Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras.
  4. Love St. Thomas. It’s a nice cruise stop. Magen’s Bay is a great recommendation. The town near the cruise port is full of shopping, both high end luxury and table top market bargaining. I would prefer St. Thomas to San Juan any day.
  5. Would you be booking the same airline? That could be an issue. If not, there would not be an issue if you just no-showed for your NCL return flight. Sometimes people have been successful working with the airline to modify their flights and pay the difference…others, not so much.
  6. As the mother of 3 boys…now grown, if I were taking the boys on a cruise it would definitely be 10 days Bahamas and Bermuda on the Joy. It would be a nice long break for you. But…can your husband survive that long without you🤣
  7. We just did the signup on the ship. They will give you the paperwork to complete with your daily. On our Bliss cruise in 2022, this what we were given.
  8. Yes, yes, yes…was/is on our bucket list. We’re saving the Baltic cruises with the hopes this port will be available again. But as stated, more importantly, the hope that this world conflict will be resolved peacefully in the very near future.
  9. This looks like an interesting cruise. I signed up for pre-sale. I found most of the answer to your questions clicking through the terms and conditions. On the drink package question, I am thinking that each guest in the cabin has to create a profile and link to yours as Lead…each guest will get the discount based on their level. Thanks for asking about this cruise…I’m following. Also are you on the other social media site for this group?
  10. Oh…we’ll that’s a whole new thread…right.?!? For the room/venue…Observation Lounge on the Bliss in Alaska. Amazing, amazing…more amazing. That being said, I would not recommend Bliss for the Alaska cruise out/back to Seattle. It’s ok…but the itinerary liimits time in Ketchikan and Victoria, BC.
  11. I believe you. We (me) were only mildly affected. Remind the OP of your awfully noisy cabin #. BTW, in your defense…in our world, DH sleeps through anything and I am the mom who wakes at everything. I slept just fine on the Prima…perhaps yhe drink package.
  12. I love the Prima, however in absence of a compiled list, if you’re sensitive to noise or a light sleeper be sure to take ear plugs and/or white noise. We were in 13100 and the noise in rough seas kept DH awake…not me. Oh, and it’s under the bridge and he said he could hear the footsteps all night…not me.
  13. Port: Olympia (Katakolon), Greece A must do: the excursion to Olympia Ship: Prima (really)… but they are all special in their own way Cabin: Club Balcony 2-3 decks under Pool Deck & Garden Cafe The statue of Nike was a votive offering to Zeus from the Messenians and the Naupactians for their victory against the Spartans in the Archidameian war (most probably in 421 BC.).
  14. Go to NCL.com, login. Then click on My Account. Here is where you will see any cruises you have booked. Right under the cruises you would see Your Coupons and Offers. If you have none you won’t see those words. Offers are random and we have yet to identify who gets what and why. I, have not been fortunate to get any…yet!
  15. Bad math…oops. It is actually a 18% increase.
  16. Looks like it changed with the new (not new) promo. We booked on July 4 and it was $10. Considering a new cruise snd it is $11.80. 10.8% is an odd amount, but a significant %. I would love for my income to rise by 10.8%.
  17. Yes same for me. Went from JADE back to Latitudes recently. Hopefully I’ll get some of those nice %off offers others have seen.
  18. Do try the chicken salad sandwich at The Local this cruise. It is really good snd a nice switch-up from the usual favs.
  19. Makes sense being a resident that you have more opportunity to have inexperienced drivers. Our visits are typically LGA to hotel and back, or some other more known place. I guess we’re really not very challenging. 😂
  20. Honestly I don’t know. I want to see whales, glaciers, snow and not spend a lot of $$. So at Dawes…did you actually see the glacier?
  21. Early September…pricing is similar. May be something we should consider. But, being from the south…seeing snow is always a treat. Thanks for your insight.
  22. The wings we had in 2021 were amazing..crispy even with sauce. The wings in 2022 and 2023 have been soft. Tasty but not crispy. Someone on here said they ask for plain wings extra crispy with sauce in the side. Haven’t tried it yet but sounds good.
