  1. Royal Caribbean must not have any problem with the duck hiding that takes place on their ships. I was on the Radiance the second week of February. They were selling the little ducks in their gift shop.
  2. I am cruising on the Odyssey of the Seas in March out of Ft. Lauderdale. My assigned time for boarding the ship is 1:00. How early can I realistically board the ship. Do they check the times for boarding in Ft. Lauderdale. Recently had a cruise in Tampa with the same boarding time. Was on the ship by 11:00 am. Nobody even checked to see what my boarding time was in Tampa. How precise are they on boarding times in Ft. Lauderdale?
  3. Coco Cay used to have the perfect island. The “backside of the island used to be beautiful and peaceful. Now they have turned the whole island into Disney of the Caribbean. I don’t even get off of the ship when it goes to Coco Cay.
  4. The lines for those without reservations was probably 10 to 15 minutes a half our after the dining room opened. If you got there when the dining room opened, it was probably 5 to 20 minutes.
  5. We were on the Enchantment last fall. We did My Time Dining, every night we picked the earliest possible time. We had the same table and same wait staff each night. Scheduled all nights as soon we got on the ship. We walked straight into the dining room each night. No wait time at all.
  6. We stick to the MDR for dinner, but we seem to eat lunch at the specialty locations. You can get a fantastic lunch for a great price many times, plus we don’t have to fight for a table in the windjammer. Lunch in the MDR is also very good and much more peaceful.
  7. During my next cruise, I will teach, the 140 mark. Will I get my crystal block on this cruise, or on my next cruise. Thank you for your replies in advance.
  8. I know that food is very subjective… with that said; A Taste of Royal was our least favorite meal on our last cruise. The Tuna tartare was my favorite part of the meal. The Risotto was basically tasteless. The Filet was OK, but both Chops snd Giovanni’s Table were both better. The Spicy Shrimp were breaded, OK, but not great. The dessert tasted it came from Costco. Again, food is very subjective, but I would not do it again.
  9. Was on the Liberty in late August, talked to several members of the entertainment staff. All of said that the 70s party was their favorite activity of the week.
  10. I realize that good is a very subjective thing… what I like, you might not like. I know nothing about Sip tour lunch. I have done a Taste of Royal on two different cruises. Both times a Taste of Royal was my least favorite meal on each cruise. The Spritzer was very nice. The Tuna Tartare was my favorite part of the meal both times. The Risotto was mostly tasteless. Both times the people in the restaurant were just looking around, like … what is this. The Steak was good, but not great. The Shrimp were deep fried, disappointing. The desert was like something you would get at Costco. Again, food is a very personal thing, but I would not recommend doing the Taste of Royal.
  11. One of the first things that I do when I get on the ship is go to the dining room and double check my dining reservations, have had a couple of hiccups, but got them taken care of in one visit to the dining room. Have always walked away pleased with the results.
  12. Chops at lunch on Embarkation Day is a no brainer. Great lunch , no fighting for your food in the windjammer. Cost is in the mid twenty dollar range if you book ahead of time.
  13. Just off of the Liberty. We ate at both Chops and Giovanni’s at lunch time. Ate at Chops on Embarkation day….. didn’t have to fight the crowd in the Windjammer. Then ate at Giovanni’s later in the week. Both were excellent. The cost of both of these at lunch was less than the cost of either one individually at Dinner.
  14. On next sailing in October, I hit the 140 day milestone. I believe that qualifies me for my first crystal block. Question is….Do yo receive the crystal block while you are in that sailing, or do they send it to you in the mail?
  15. Just got off of the Liberty, sail date was 8/24/23. Arrival time was 11:30, arrived at the port at 10:30. When we got to the building, they just more or less waved us through. Never stopped walking. Was on the ship by 10:45. Smoothest Embarkation process ever. They had many, many people working. Getting off the ship was even easier, once they called your number, again… you just kept walking. No need to show passport, facial recognition.
  16. Just off of Liberty of the Seas “CoCo” Colette was awesome as the acting Cruise Director. Hope she gets a Cruise Director position soon.
  17. You people that eat better at home than in the MDR must have a fantastic spread at home, would guess that the vast majority of cruisers are very satisfied with MDR food.
  18. Been over 30 Cruises on Royal Caribbean. On those cruises, I have had 1 bad thing. I would give the food 9/10 and Service 15/10. I don’t know what you eat back here on land, but RCCL food is way, way better than what I eat on land. Plus I don’t have to cook it or clean up afterwards.
  19. Are the Lunch Menu and the Dinner Menu the same on Liberty of the Seas?
  20. Does Sabor on Liberty of the Seas serve Lunch? Tried looking on the Royal App, but couldn’t find the information that I was looking for.
  21. I don’t see how a meteorologist would have helped in this situation. Pop up storms happen all of the time all over the country. It just happens. Besides the ship was in port, what did you expect them to do to avoid the storm. If you watched the video, you can see the storm coming for 2 to ,3 minutes. You need to be aware of your surroundings. Many times in the Midwest, you have less time than that to avoid tornadoes. And yes tornadoes happen even when there is no prior watches or warnings. Where I live, the last tornado we had occurred 5 minutes before any watches or warnings were ever issued.
  22. A couple of questions about “Taste of Royal”. First how do you sign up for it? How much does it cost per person? Going to be on the Liberty of the Seas the last week of August this year, Can’t find the answers to these questions. Thanks ahead of time.
  23. I used to really like CocoCay, but I think that RCCL ruined it when they turned it into Mini-Disney. It was such a cool place to visit when the back side of the island was not developed. Used to go back there and just chill out. Used to see the sting rays all of the time just living a peaceful life. Used to see Bone Fish, Barracuda, live Conch, and just enjoy the island. You, nature, and very few people. Those were the good old days of Coco Cay.
  24. Cruiselvr04…. My wife ordered her meals every night for the next nights dinner. I will give you an example… she can not eat cheese. On the next nights menu, they had chicken Parmesan , she talked to the head waiter and they decided that instead of chicken Parmesan , she would get a grilled chicken breast. The next day the head waiter came by and double checked the order. Grilled chicken breast.. what did they bring her. Chicken Parmesan. He told her he would get her a chicken breast, but it would take 20-25 minutes. By that time every else would have been done eating. Stuff like this happened every night.
  25. Just got off of the Allure of the Seas. Cruise was wonderful except for Dining and meals in general. We sent an email to RCCL dining about 3 weeks before the cruise explaining her dining room needs. No answer. About 10 days before the cruise emailed again. No answer. When we got on board went straight to the dining room, explained my wife’s food allergies to the Person in charge of the dining room, thought everything was worked out. First night of dining she was brought food she was unable to eat, dietary restrictions. Same thing the second night. The head waiter got involved and chastised the waiter right in front of us. Head waiter took over the ordering food for our table. Problem did not get any better. Always the wrong food or food that did not meet her dining restrictions. It got so bad that we didn’t go to dinner the last two nights of the cruise. In the wind jammer she just took her chance on eating because people could not tell her how the food was prepared. So basically she had a cruise where she had very little to eat. My question is who do I contact at RCCL to address this situation/problem? Thank you in advance?
