  1. There was a price drop on our cruise - try to upgrade and pay the difference today (which I did 2 months ago with no problem). This time I was told the internet rate was for "new bookings" only. The price difference on the internet $362.00 more than what we paid - which is less than the Move Up bid. The agent quoted a cost of $1052.00 upgrade (more than the Move Up Bids). My husband says call back and talk to someone else.....uggg maybe Celebrity only lets you upgrade once. We are after the paid in full period. We will just keep our cabin and not bid on Move Up for this category.
  2. When we got off the ship at Sydney Harbor in October it took 1 hour in line and we were in Retreat. We did not rush off and had breakfast on board. Friends were picking us up at 10:00am and there was a very long line behind us waiting to disembark. We didn't get out of the terminal until 10:30. Getting off was very slow with the customs check. At 10:30am the terminal employees were sending passengers who wanted to board early away. It may have certainly changed since then. We just checked in for our next cruise and 2:00pm (Edge - HNL) is the earliest check in time. Another guest called and stated they were in Retreat and they were told 2:00pm is the earliest boarding. Enjoy your cruise - we wish we were joining you - love that itinerary!
  3. Saved 20.00 on my hair appointment.
  4. For the OP you seem to have a good plan - but a funny story.... I am OCD about check in times. We were on an Alaska cruise and I set my alarm to get up at 2:00am to check in for our Hawaii cruise (forgetting we were in a suite and I didn't need to do this). I arrived at Guest Relation in my pj's looking like I just crawled out of bed and with passports in hand. I forgot my glasses. The guest service agent probably thought I was nuts and he stated he never had a guest check in for a cruise before on board. He turned the computer around and went to the back office. I realized I couldn't read the computer screen (I forgot my glasses) - I asked another staff member who was vacuuming the guest service area if she could help me. She was great! She got me checked in so I could have that beloved 11:30 check in time. She was wonderful but we both started laughing about how absurd this was....she got a nice tip! Needless to say - I have my alarm set for 4am on Sunday for our next cruise. This time we are not in suite! Enjoy your cruise!
  5. Just have your invoice handy - so the agent can add back all the discounts. Sometimes they have a difficult time matching the discounts if you don't give them the exact ones. I am sure you will get it resolved.
  6. I have had experience with Celebrity that the original discounts get removed. Celebrity is aware of the glitch. Get your original invoice and make sure they add back the discounts that you had. Some agents are very good with this other you need to educated. I always take a screen shot of the discounts prior to paying. I have had this happen on 2 bookings. This seems to happen when you add the 2nd person to the cruise after paying in full. I hope you get it resolved easily.
  7. Thank you so much for all this information. DH can only walk shorter distances at a slow place. We are looking forward to this new adventure for us. We plan to take our time getting off the ship. We travel pretty light (2 smaller bags). I usually push them. We enjoy a restaurant in Gastown thinking of stopping there for an early lunch (can't get good clams in the Rockies) and then grabbing an Uber to the station - Do you recommend a good place for clams - I will be your new best friend...LOL
  8. Thank you so much for the information! We have spent quite of bit of time in Vancouver. I think we will book the later train and plan to spend the night in Seattle. We can have lunch in Gastown before getting on the train. I was worried about being night but if we can get a cab - I feel much safer.
  9. Just looking at the schedule and price.... seems pretty reasonable but the train doesn't arrive in Seattle until 9:00pm. Does anyone know if the train station is a "safe place'' for older folks at night? We would get a hotel. A new adventure! Thanks for the info!
  10. Sorry I meant traveling from Vancouver to Seattle same day would be difficult. Last time we were in Seattle airport it was a very long distance between terminals - our flight was an 2.5 hours late coming into Seattle - I literally had to find a wheel chair and run - made our connection in a knick of time. My husband tires out easily so we like the slow go approach. Flying out of Seattle is quite a bit cheaper than Vancouver - thought we would save money and extend the cruise - well that didn't work out. LOL. We have been to Vancouver many times - checking with the airline to see if we can move the flight to a few days earlier maybe take in Victoria - lessen to be learned - don't book non refundable!
  11. The icing on the cake with all of this - on February 20th I wrote the executive office an email - that the booking process needed to be fixed. I booked online and paid in full and as soon as the credit card went thru and I added my husband on - I was informed that I owed a balance because a "glitch" removed all of the discounts. I immediately called to have this corrected. The agent was trying to trying to charge us more. I had to "hold my ground" and read them the discounts that were offered online in order to get the correct price. The executive office knew this was a B2B from my email and this should not have been permitted to happened. I even asked for the B2B discount LOL. You think someone from the office would have called me. I miss the old Celebrity.
  12. I did book directly with Celebrity and asked that the cruises be marked as B2B.
  13. I booked the 2nd leg a couple of days later with Celebrity directly and asked the agent to make them B2B - the agent was happy to do so and did. It has been almost a month since this occurred. The agent never said anything to me that is violated the PVSA. We do many B2B cruises. Celebrity and all cruise lines should have it flagged. This is very poor customer service in my humble opinion.
  14. I found the thread - PVSA - I wonder why Celebrity let us book this? - They should have a warning on this or the agent should have informed us when I spoke with them on the phone....uggg
  15. I know this may have been discussed before but anyone who has experienced this your help would be appreciated. I received an email today that our B2B cruise from Honolulu to Vancouver - Vancouver to Seattle on the Edge violates a maritime law. Celebrity wants us either to add on the Sydney to Honolulu leg ( that is a rather expensive option) or cancel the second cruise from Vancouver to Seattle to make it "legal". We did not book our airfare thru Celebrity so our airfare is not refundable and the airline we were suppose to fly out of Seattle does not fly out of Vancouver. My husband has mobility issues so traveling from Vancouver to Seattle is not an option. I know I read other threads on this topic last year but can't find them. Anyone who has experience with this - your input would be much appreciated.
  16. Sorry for your husband bouts with illness. Why don't you visit your doctor and get their professional opinion. A medical professional would be the best to consult rather than getting opinions from cruise critic. Hope all goes well with your hubby!
  17. Please say "Hello" to Andrea HD and Michael in the Retreat lounge from the Migalski's! Millie is our favorite ship. We are trying out the Edge in May - it will be our first time on the E class ship. Have a great cruise and enjoy your rum drinks!!! Japan is on our bucket list for next year.
  18. We stayed in 6131 for 14 nights - it never bother us. We actually really like being that close to the elevator to our surprise. The balcony is very roomy. Really enjoyed it on our Panama Canal last year.
  19. We have sailed with one hotel director and cruise director many times. She always greets us when we board by name. I have also received a bottle of wine when we haven't known the hotel director. We do a lot of B2B cruises so I don't know if that has something to do with it. I think if a crew member recognizes you - that may help.
  20. We have received wine and chocolate covered strawberries. It usually comes from the hotel director. No we are not Zenith.
  21. I wish Celebrity would do more sailings from the west coast. We enjoyed the Mexican Riviera and flying into Long Beach was a breeze. It is a lot cheaper for us to fly to the west coast rather than to Florida. I don't mind if the OP keeps bringing up the topic. Maybe if enough people speak up and request the west coast it may happen again but with other itineraries. I certainly would go for a Hawaiian round trip cruise!
  22. Executive office called me this morning - I missed the call. She will call back. Sounds like the stools are being put back! Hooray!!
  23. We were there in October - no bugs.
  24. Our taxi took American $
