  1. We took a taxi to the water taxi pick up - It was about 10 minutes by car.
  2. In Moorea it is easy to take a taxi to the public beach. Its more like a grass park with a small beach and a restaurant. We were able just to get a taxi back to the ship without difficulty. We booked a restaurant with a water taxi included to CoCo Beach. They give you a table with shade and you can go snorkel or swim. Saw lots of sharks and sting rays. Its not the best beach for laying on the sand but it is beautiful! The restaurant has drinks and good food. You should make a reservation to do this. When we where there they would only transport guests who had reservations.
  3. We did the reverse cruise this October on the Solstice. In Raiatea - the tender drops you off and there is a "Welcome Center" were you can book a taxi boat to the Motu... There is a grocery store not far away if you want to pick something up to eat. Bring water with you and maybe some snacks. There is a grocery store not far away if you want to pick something up to eat and bring it with you. There are picnic tables on the Motu. It is very relaxing and beautiful views. Walk the entire Motu. Not a lot of sea life when we were there. I had water shoes- which you will need in Moorea if you plan a water activity there. We had the best free whale watching in Moorea. The mom whales just gave birth and the baby whales were breaching all over. We watched the whales for over an hour from the ship. The moms were slapping their tails on the water to make the babies swim. We were only in 90 feet of water so the whales were very active on the top the water. Enjoy your cruise!!
  4. I never been on the Edge but have done 3 cruises out of Honolulu. The boarding time have been the traditional 11:00am. They did require that all guest be on board way before the 11:59 departure.
  5. Did Retreat in October on Solstice -- the Retreat host was amazing who was in Micheals. Michaels Club is "old" but it was a blast, great bartenders. The staff in Luminae was outstanding. Our Butler - always greeted us even morning and ask what could he do for us. We were in a Sky Suite and he was very attentive contrary to what others have experienced since the change. We did not asked for much but if we did - it was done. I think he got upset that we would go El Bacio in the morning rather then having it delivered!! There isn't a Retreat Deck area on the Solstice. If you have a lot of sea days its nice to lunch in Luminae - I am not a buffet person.
  6. We have sailed on the Solstice many times. Honolulu to Sydney twice. Loved Luminae and their attention to detail. They would bring my husband his favorite soup when it wasn't on the menu. The staff - anticipated our needs so we hardly ever had to ask for anything. The host in the Retreat Lounge was outstanding (sailed on Solstice in October)!! I can't remember her name. The staff bent over backwards to make us happy and we are very easy going. Hopefully you will experience the same. Patrick the cruise director is awesome. Crew members change..... Solstice is our favorite ship - the Millennium is our favorite ship for the entertainment. We haven't tried the newer E class ships - I don't think its our "cup of tea". Sailed the Equinox in November - it was good but the vibe on Solstice is so much better.
  7. Maybe Celebrity is figuring out that guest don't buy the beverage package and instead put the money towards a move up bid then plan to drink in the Retreat Lounge for free if the bid is accepted. They only buy the beverage package if they are unsuccessful at winning the bid. I know quite a few people who do this.
  8. We were in a Sky Suite - same cruise. The magnets worked on the wall across from the couch - the wall that had nothing on it. I guess different cabins have different types of walls. Or maybe it was the Rum😂
  9. Bring a mesh shoe bag with over the door hooks. Lots more storage. If you are in a Sky Suite on the S class ship -- LOTS of storage and we don't bring the mesh shoe bag. Our next cruise - Equinox in Aqua Class - will use the mesh shoe bag for storage. The large magnets will hold the bag up if you don't want it on the bathroom door.
  10. We love the World Class Bar! Its a great after dinner place for us. The bar is by itself. Not popular in the beginning of the cruise - definitely more popular as the week goes on. Bartenders are great. Have the premium package if you plan to spend time there. Try something different each night. If you don't like it - get something else.
  11. We are looking at the same. We aren't big show folks so - that's not important to us. The shows will be repetitive. If the shows are great - then you get to see them again. As for the menus - they do repeat but we try different entrees and look forward to having the ones we really like on the next cruise. What we love the most the crew gets to know you. Bartenders know how you like your drinks. We prefer B2B2B2B. On Celebrity you will find there are many B2B2B2B folks.
  12. Never effected my electronics. We use them on almost every cruise.
  13. We were there on October 26th - have fun with your travels and don't drink to much rum😂 We were on the Panama Canal cruise with you!
  14. Either isn't bad but if you select Outrigger Reef do not get a city view room on the street - very noisy! We got upgraded to a suite on our second stay in October - the room was GREAT. The restaurant is open air and has a great view. Go for lunch - the menu is the same as dinner and you can easily sit by the water. Great views. Sunset is very popular there. There is an ABC store right in the hotel!
  15. It is available on our November 30th cruise on the Equinox which is a full ship. We are Elite + the only advantage would be early embarkation and lunch- No way for 32 bucks a day X 10 days. I could care less about the lunch on embarkation day - nothing special and it is in the main dining room. I hope folks look at the tender ports before purchasing - the cruise we are on is all docked ports. Let the Buyer Beware.
  16. We wear the same size - so he wears my slacks and save space in the luggage... Just kidding😂
  17. I love my $23.00 long dress/gown that rolls up smaller than any of my slacks and pants. I get many complements every time I wear it. My husband and I get a good giggle from this. I look forward to the evening chic nights. My husband wears a dress shirt, slacks and a tie. Different strokes for different folks.
  18. Just checked again and the cost for our November cruise the beverage package upgrade - just went DOWN to 8.99 from 18.99 Got to love Cruise Critic for things like this! Martini Bar look out🤣
  19. My November 30th cruise is showing 18.99 to upgrade from classic to premium. Would love the lower price.
  20. We were on the previous cruise for 18 days in an Aqua Sky Suite. Dominic was extremely attentive and all of needs were met. Each morning he greeted us in Al Bacio and we saw him every evening and many times throughout the day always speaking to us to make sure our needs were met. Our laundry was done by the room attendant who was great. I did have a long conversation with Dominic and he stated he liked the "old method of service" better. He stated on longer cruises he gets to know the passengers but on shorter cruises it is very difficult being in charge of so many cabins. Only 2 times did I need to call him - once for the safe and once for ice and it was taken care of within minutes. We arranged for a night cap delivered every evening and it was never missed. Patricia from Michaels was EXTREMELY helpful with all the Retreat guests. She was another one who went out of her way to help you in anyway. I did not notice a change in the service from our previous cruises with Butler Service but as I stated Dominic preferred the "old method" so he could get to know his guests.
  21. My husband says - Do you want to be right of happy?? 😂😂...I think he chooses to be happy
  22. You have every right to be upset of how the new "Retreat Team" was introduced and the consumer privilege to never sail with Celebrity again. Thats why I spoke with the Hotel Manager at length on our August cruise to hear her input. It doesn't matter to me what the staff member title is as long as our needs our met. I will make my decision whether its a change is for the better or worse on our upcoming cruise. If the cabin steward does the job of the Butler I am fine with that. We have room attendants who have been better than some of our Butlers and we have had awesome Butlers who anticipated our needs. Happy Cruising!
