  1. DH does the same for me. As a recipient of this very kind gesture, I applaud you. There's just something so nice to waking up on vacation with a cup of coffee I didn't have to make or get myself, after sleeping in no less! They have gone downhill. DS got one and it was super delicious so DD and I both got one the next day. Mine tasted like rubber, and hers was soupy. Even Carnival doesn't always get it right.
  2. Uh oh. How does she handle disappointment? I know I would be if I was looking forward to something to find out later it's not happening. Maybe you reveal the cruise at the same time as you "cancel" the trip to soften the blow? My kids can never hold back surprises from me. They're too exited. Anyway, I ask them not to tell me what it is, but instead to give me clues. Makes it more fun for all of us. You could do let her know the trip in Feb is just a decoy and to figure out the real vacation she has to solve a series of clues. Have something like a golden gate bridge, a cruise ship, and some salmon as the clues. Maybe even wedding rings or something so she figures the date too.
  3. I'm like minded. I always felt that when min wage increased the cost of everything going up more than ate up the tiny increase to the paycheck. I also don't use ziploc baggies. Goes right there with plastic straws. Maybe I'm tacky but I do put food on my plate and bring it back to my stateroom; or even eat in the elevator! People walk around with food/drinks all the time. I never saw it as an issue.
  4. If guest 3 is 21+, would guest 3 have gotten the water with FAS then? Anyone have a 3rd adult in the room that could answer?
  5. Mine is also showing two with four in the cabin. I assume since the other two are minors they don't get the drink package, hence no water?
  6. LAX is a major socal airport. It'd make no sense for NCL not to support flights there.
  7. I spend time with my kids every day. I bring my kids on vacation so they can have a vacation too. If they want to go to kids club, I'm gonna let them. We still eat all meals together and do a few activities too, but we don't need to hang on each other 24/7 either.
  8. Is Starbucks the only place to get specialty coffee on the Jewel?
  9. I booked during the window and it shows in my reservation under vacation add-ons in the included items section. It's right there after the speciality dining and 150 internet minutes.
  10. I would book based on location first. I'm not a morning person anyway, so I don't want sunshine until I'm ready to be awake.
  11. Thanks! All else fails I'll buy the expensive shampoo. Expensive cause I use Suave at home 😂. How many games of Bingo can two people play with $25? Who knows, that might be fun.
  12. My TA added a $50 spa credit and $25 bingo package to my booking, and I usually don't do either. Will this appear as OBC or is it strictly for use as stipulated? Also what's the best and/or most economical way to use up the spa credit for someone like me who has never so much as gotten a manicure?
  13. Loonies and Toonies oh my! What's next Weenies?
  14. Can you earn bonus stars too if purchasing SB onboard? Anyone know if they will give you the BYO cup discount like land-based stores do?
  15. Like PTC said, it's a math problem. If you're not drinking than booking a lower base fare on another line might suit you. NCL obviously factors the cost of the average cruisers beverages into their base fare and markets it as "free". If you're only comparing NCL prices then it's easy to see the value of FAS vs adding on the package separately.
  16. While I much rather have all the modern technologies, it's sooooo refreshing to get away from it occasionally. It's sad really when my kids punishment isn't being grounded, but to have device privileges taken away. Every toy/Lego/Barbie/magic, science kit in their rooms and they're still "bored". I'm a millennial too, but I'd rather have on board entertainment than wi-fi. I'm of the mentality that if I just wanted to be online I wouldn't be on a cruise ship. And if I just wanted to disconnect sans entertainment I would go camping.
  17. Mine did not fix with passenger info, but also the drink package is different on the POA. Also if she doesn't drink that's still $20 per day gratuity vs $10 for soda package. With the 2nd passenger it probably works out about the same huh?
  18. We thought the same thing (DS turned 9 a few days prior) but a few days into our cruise we ended up giving him privileges after all. He never got lost per se, just decided after not being able to find me that he'd go looking for me (long story short he found my aunt in her room while I frantically searched the ship and tried not to panic). If you think about it we trust our kids to find their classroom the 1st day of school; they're more than capable of finding a stateroom #. They're also capable of finding the arcade 😂 so...
  19. Thanks! Is there more wine than just this list? I don't see any of my favorites unfortunately. I'm also 😞 that the Moscato isn't available by the glass.
  20. Yeah not all that uncommon, although admittedly I haven't seen a $2 since my waitressing days. Now that I think about it, it'd make good tooth fairy cash. Add to the magic 🪄 since kids haven't seen $2 before.
  21. So to be clear, bottled water is not included with FAS but it is with FASP? I don't mind tap water but kinda assumed if I could get a soda or cocktail, I'd be able to get any bottled beverage especially water since it's so much less costly.
  22. You made me look! 86 days for me. I'm trying not to look because it feels like it's still so far from now.
  23. Hmm. I'd just get agave wine, skip the cocktail and diy it onboard.
