  1. The dogs are a newer addition. It will be interesting to see if this really does reduce the amount of ganja that seems to be present on a ship.
  2. If you only spent 3 hours in the casino, not sure you would really get a good read on other players points. 9000 points is actually getting low these days. I thought I was cooking with 11,000 on our last cruise, until the girl sat down next to me and had 56,000. She was rapid firing $5 on Lightning Link. She wasn't doing too bad either lol. Ended up with a bounceback OV.
  3. Definitely Truly, pretty sure that's it.
  4. I was on the Magic in May, I had the premium package. For the difference in cost between the lower tier plans and the premium, I always just get the premium. I thought it worked great, no issues. I was on the Magic in June of 2022, and it stunk then, wouldn't work at all in the cabin. Not the case this time, so I think Starlink was definitely an improvement.
  5. Just got our confirmation through URComped for a Virgin cruise in June 2024! Been really wanting to give Virgin a try! Unfortunately, it's just a 5 day, was trying to hold out for 7 day out of Miami, but they didn't seem to have any after March/April. Have your subsequent cruises on Virgin been booked through URComped?
  6. We're doing that cruise on Horizon 11/2024! We have a Havana cabin, and this has been booked for like 2.5 years lol, so really looking forward to it. Just one more year to go lol! If I pick up any useful nuggets, I'll report back in...next year. 🤣 We were in Aruba and Curacao in 2019, absolutely loved it, but didn't do anything share-worthy. Some snorkeling and beaching, but it was gorgeous there.
  7. Absolutely! Put that money through the machines!
  8. They would eventually figure this out. I actually did have this happen, and they will call you to see where the other person is. You can try to put them off, but once the ship sails and that person is not accounted for, they have their answer. In my case, the casino offer was in my name, so I just told them the other person wasn't going to make it in time, so no example to say if they repriced, but it is policy to do so. You will still have an onboard account, and they absolutely could charge that person before they get off the ship. Whether or not this happens is really left to chance.
  9. What?! Lol! I always find myself squeezing like a travel size bottle of shampoo on there with a bar of soap and the rest goes on the floor. Or crammed in the water controls. Or on the soap/shampoo dispenser. If you can make the tiny little thing work for your whole family, that's impressive!
  10. This is theory, not fact. It would save us all a lot of typing if we could just add this disclaimer lol. Just to mention, and another example that goes against that theory, we received new premier offers today. My partner and I previously had similar premier offers, however, this time, she got a free room + free play offer, while I got $1200 off fare (same as before). The only thing that changed since our last round of premier offers was our cruise where she blew dollars, points and chummed the host, dealers, and bit bosses the whole time. I don't know how you can still deny onboard play impacts future offers. I'm not saying there aren't other factors, but to continually insist there is no impact is just not correct.
  11. Unfortunately, I find myself saying this about a lot large companies. Not that long ago, I worked for a large retail corporation still running a DOS-based OS for a lot of their checkout functions. Blew my mind.
  12. No more than most ships. I was on the Magic in May. Normal crowding and lines that I've come to expect. If you go in expecting Spirit class lines, you'll be upset.
  13. I'd be on the streets if I lost that kind of money! I range from about $500-$1500 on amount I'm willing to lose. Mostly interior/OV offers for me. Keep in mind, you get multiple offers and can often book up to 3 cruises off each offer. Since we can't cruise more than 3 times a year, and often only able to book 2 per year, we probably do a little better than break even. But if we had availability to book as much as we could (and some people do), we'd definitely be far ahead.
  14. All of this MAY be true, but continually saying onboard points don't impact offers when people have repeated "evidence" that it does is simply ignoring facts to make your statement right. PS. I have a Carnival Card with a high limit, while my wife does not, and she gets a lot better offers than me because she bets bigger, gets more points than I do, and blows through more money than I do. And before you again repeat that there are other factors, which I don't disagree with, this was reversed when she wasn't play much. Once she got more onboard points, she got better offers. This was in the course of about 6 months, so unless we had some major life changes in that small period of time (we didn't), the onboard points were the driving data point.
  15. Repeated experience shows this to be false.
  16. A couple of things to say. First, we can say it over and over. $82K whatever is not the amount of money lost. It's cycled. No one is dropping $82K in the casino (I mean, some people probably are!) I didn't get 33,000 on my last cruise, but I did get around 11,000 and my out of pocket expense as around $1000. Yes, we can all accept that a comp room is not "free" but "prepaid" as everyone likes to say. I didn't start betting bigger until the last day, and my points went from 6000 to over 11,000 on the last day, and that was the only time I actually didn't lose money. I probably could have gotten more points if the cruise hadn't have ended, with probably about the same budget. However, I'm not blowing through $27,500 dollars, and if I get a room for a comp cruise for the $1K I spent, I've made peace with that, and I had a lot of fun doing it. Point being, you win, you lose. At no time was I down more than $1500 and at no point was I up more that $1500. I'm just playing to have fun with the money I've budgeted to do so. After all that is send - OP was offered a suite and is disappointed?...All offers are for new bookings only. Accept the SUITE and be grateful. Or don't, but being complaining about it seems a bit unreasonable.
  17. I'll say, I don't think I noticed the music at all, which would mean it was played at a level that wasn't disruptive, and that is my only requirement lol. It doesn't matter what it is.
  18. This is always how I've done it. Just statement credit.
  19. Cutting someone off does nothing to prevent someone from drinking purchased liquor in their cabin, which brings us back to the original complaint regarding limiting how much can be purchased.
  20. I think we could argue this mostly to prevent drunk driving, which isn't applicable on a cruise. Of course, if you are exhibiting bad behavior, it's probably best to cut someone off. But expecting not to see drunk people on a cruise seems a bit far fetched.
  21. I agree, it's people ruining it for everyone, and everyone wants Carnival to do something about it, so they are. What suggestions do you have for the above bad behavior you mentioned? Maybe cutting someone off, but that is dicey too. Being visibly inebriated means you shouldn't be served? So no one is allowed to be drunk on a cruise? That doesn't seem realistic.
  22. I hear your frustration, but what basis is there for this claim? Carnival is pretty strict about the 15 limit. Yeah, there are ways around that, and one of them is hitting the limit and then having extra bottles in your cabin. You can't really have it both ways.
