  1. Really? I saw that and was actually pretty stoked. No joke. I would definitely tear up some chicken noodle soup after a late night.
  2. I mentioned we had an almost similar room on the Magic. The only negative we experience in that room was, the thrusters vibration was INTENSE. A definite rumble you could hear and feel lol. We are late sleepers, and usually woke us up when docking. Which I didn't really mind, a nice built in alarm clock lol. Even with that one negative, I wouldn't hesitate to book one of those rooms again, and sounds like it might not be so bad on the Dream. P.S. Yes, 100% you can see through those windows at night with a light on. I should have warned you! Hopefully you were able to conduct your experiment before any curtainless exposè. 😆
  3. I know I'm late to the party, as I try to avoid a computer as much as possible on the weekend, so getting caught up now. But you have NO IDEA of the rollercoaster of emotions we catcher-uppers were riding, following the luggage saga waiting to see how it ends, and the exhale of relief to see this! I mean, I'm sure you do, since it's your actual luggage. But still. 😆
  4. It could be due to the fact that I'm that I'm dieting, but I'd tear that plate lol. Looks scrump!
  5. I've got an accompanying email every time I had an offer in the cruise planner. I get the email, then look at my cruise planner. I've also received phone calls, but those are different from the ones in the cruise planner. Those are pretty much - accept on the phone call or lose it.
  6. I used to feel that way too, and I always do a preplay scan for reels lol. However, as that's becoming almost impossible to find, I've evolved and moved on to the video slot. I've decided they are actually fun, and just a note, most do have a volume control, you can tone it done. I definitely do that.
  7. I was loving the firecrackers for a while, I won some the first few times I played, not a lot, but my money went plus instead of minus lol. Lately though that machine has been doing me dirty. Ultimate Fire Link I can usually manage to play for a while on not much coin. Hit a $700 major once, but it all went back in the machine! Lately I've been liking Lightning Link. But you've gotta max bet for any real winnings. Have a bankroll to start, or you'll money will bottom out quick! The only machine I've ever won a handpay was good ol' Double Diamond reel, quarter bet, up to 3 lines. I suspect those have all been removed, sadly lol.
  8. We had 6203 on Magic in May. LOVED this room. A very nice interior. I didn't hop out onto the deck as much as I thought I would, but it was extremely nice having the access right there, especially when docking and hopping out for some quick views.
  9. I would definitely do the one out of Norfolk, with 2 overnights. And not just because I live 15 minutes from the port! We actually have a cruise to Bermuda in September, but on another line. We're probably going to have to cancel due to a work conflict, I was looking for a different cruise to reschedule, and most to Bermuda are 1 overnight, but I'd rather hold our for a 2 night. I like the idea of not having to worry about making it back to the ship for a few days! From what I hear, there is lots to do in Bermuda. The drive from DC isn't the best, but TBH I think the worst of it is DC itself lol. I'd definitely recommend traveling the day before though.
  10. On the Glory in February this year, it was NOT reliable. When it worked, it was great. But there was a lot of time it didn't work. Text not being received, or sent way later. We ended up resorting to calling cabin phones when we needed to reach someone, that was more reliable lol. We didn't even bother with it on our cruise in May. Not worth the frustration for us.
  11. This is what I was going to say lol. Some friends went on a cruise with us, they were first-timers. Whenever we go out to dinner, she almost always orders nachos. She loves nachos. She spent the whole cruise trying to find some tortilla chips, to no avail. 😆
  12. For the most part, I haven't had any problems as long as there are two cards. Sometimes I've had to wave at the bartender from afar or something while my partner was at the bar with both cards, but mostly they seem pretty lax. But you'll definitely at least need a card for the not-present person.
  13. Yes, we were married on the Glory this past February. It was a very small group though (8 total, including us!) and we were married in port in New Orleans. Honestly, they pretty much handled everything and it was super easy, which is what I was looking for lol. Not sure if I have any tips or tricks, but I'll say depending on your plans, you don't have any control over the actual venue if married on the ship, so be prepared for that! We were married in Bar Blue on the Glory, which maybe wouldn't work for everyone's tastes, but honestly we didn't care. If you have any specific questions I could try to help, but if you're thinking large group, there are a lot of different options and like hors d'oeuvres that you get to select, but we didn't do any of that.
  14. There are a few different accounts on FB Club Royale groups saying they called Celebrity and they comped a room based on their recent RC casino play. I haven't heard anything about them "merging" though.
  15. P.S. Carnival definitely wins at deck parties.
  16. I'll echo what some others have said, the overall atmosphere is just more fun, it's hard to describe without experiencing it. But yes, it's going to be subjective. Possibly it's the cruisers, possibly it's the activities, possibly crew. I don't know. But I'll say with certainty, while I prefer RCI ships - some are beautiful - I always have more fun on a Carnival cruise. I do think the cruise director and the Fun Squad have a lot to do with it. In my personal opinion, they have a lot more character than for sure any cruise director I've ever had on RCI. I hardly remember even seeing the cruise director on any cruise, let alone recall any of them. Also, I think the frequency of activities, is better on Carnival. Yes, they have a lot of similar types, but the schedule seems to be a bit fuller. There are a lot of lulls during the day on an RCI cruise, I find myself getting bored, which is fine, I don't mind, I'll just go relax in the Solarium. But just don't feel that way when cruising Carnival.
  17. No snark at all here, but I'm not real clear on your intent. Are you asking to confirm you'll have a better experience on a Carnival 6+ day cruise. I think it's been well experienced that 4-5 day cruises tend to be rowdier (not just Carnival) but it sounds like you don't really enjoy the Carnival experience. Yes, there are different ship layouts, we don't know what ships you have been on. Each class of ship is pretty similar in layout, but there are different classes of ship. There are going to be a lot of overlapping throughout the fleet though. As mentioned above, the menus are changing, but I wouldn't expect a wildly different experience. And then it's going to be the same on all ships, so it's not going to vary from ship to ship. Some of the new ships have a lot more dining options though. The entertainment choices are going to be pretty much the same, so if you are looking for something different, ship size/length of cruise probably isn't going to change that. I'd say book an Excel class ship, that's probably the only thing that will change the experience by any noticeable amount.
  18. Honestly, I'm glad they don't swap for answers. Not because I cheat, I just don't want anyone to see my embarrassingly wrong answers. I actually do enjoy a nice ship on a stick, it's a nice little keepsake, but I'd rather lose than be subjected to that trauma. I know not everyone feels that way. On my last few cruises, they have been giving keychains of some sort, or something? Not ship specific, if I recall. That takes some of the sting out when I lose legitimately, to cheaters. I can do without the little metal whatever they are putting up.
  19. The actual critiquing of bread spread speaks a lot louder to me. I can't say I've ever been out to a dinner and put so much thought into what I was spreading on my bread, as has been discussed here. I just spread and enjoy.
  20. Since we're speculating, as Elaine5715 pointed out, OP posted in regards to a 9/7/2021 cruise with concerns to sail. Assuming this is the cruise in question (it likely is), I don't believe that cruise was cancelled. It's very rare that companies actually respond to credit card disputes at low amounts. And having received and worked disputes, a company can respond against the dispute and it's usually still credited back. I don't see anything unethical about a business no longer wanting to do business with a customer that has a history of chargebacks. That's just smart business.
