  1. On our cruise last October, they did have a BOGO half-off sale on the first (maybe also second?) night on-board. And yes, to second not-enough-cruising, even with this price offer, it was still more expensive than one of the times I had priced out the "sale" offers sent pre-cruise. With that said, I haven't seen the price as low since as the pre-cruise "sale" price mentioned above. But I'd imagine the pricing scale on-board would slide accordingly and still be more expensive.
  2. I really love the idea of price adjustment, just not sure it something to be expected. Nice if it's offered, but not everyone is going to honor this type of pricing scale. It's like clearance merchandise, they are trying to unload what didn't sell. I can't take my designer jeans that I bought 3 months ago and expect them to adjust the price based on the clearance priced merchandise. I mean, some business have this practice, fantastic! But some don't, and that is to be expected. And yes, I know it used to happen. We need to accept this as a new model and move forward.
  3. If you get the marketing emails - the Terms & Conditions are at the bottom. Otherwise, if you look in the cruise planner, if there is a current sale, it should give the dates at the bottom. This is what my current planner says.
  4. Interestingly, I don't see an option in the app or website to do this. I know with some other lines, you can buy "cruise cash" with a credit card or gift cards. I think you might be able to buy OBC, but I think you have to call to do so?
  5. I don't have a "Columbus Day" sale, but I have a "Your Cruise is in 21 Days!!!" sale. They typical 35% off jargon that has been thrown at every other sale. In the terms and conditions, it says this price is good until 10/12. The "holiday sales" are almost always "extended" so my thinking would be you'd be okay tomorrow - but I can't make any promises.
  6. I tried to do this on a few cruises ago - I had the soda package and they said that package could not be upgraded to the deluxe drink package. My brother seemed to be able to upgrade his refreshment package though, but I was told not the soda package. Could be a case of two different crew with 2 different answers. I just called it a lost expense and still upgraded to the deluxe drink package. I'd probably go with the recommendation above to cancel the one you have now.
  7. The difference between a bid and a full price upgrade, in my case, was around $5k. While I'm willing to throw out a few G's for an upgrade bid to see what sticks, I'm not willing to shell out an additional $5k for a suite. So while the more expensive route may be the safest, Imma bid for that upgrade. I may win, I may lose. Either way I'm on a cruise. And honestly, if I lose, I'll be relieved, because I can use that cash! But couldn't pass up an opportunity to bid.
  8. For anyone who may run into this issue, I did end up calling the number stated earlier in the thread. No hold time before a rep answered, and it took about 10 minutes on the phone and they had the OBC applied and I was able to see it before the phone call ended. So pretty easy to resolve. Possibly it is a time period thing and it would have shown up a few weeks before the cruise, who knows. But now i don't have to worry about it.
  9. What's the date of the cruise. We don't leave until October 30th, so just wondering if it's in a certain time period, someone mentioned two weeks or so. Thanks!
  10. Thanks for the info, everyone. I don't see anything in my cruise planner for OBC, and did not get an updated invoice. I'll give it until a little closer to the cruise (Oct. 30th), and then I'll call if not here. Argh!
  11. Hi all, where do you see the OBC applied on the Royal Caribbean account/website/app? I redeemed some points 8/11/2022 and haven't been able to find anything on my cruise account showing the OBC applied. Thank you!
  12. Honestly though, people. What are you doing in your cabins that you need it serviced twice a day?? Most days we just need some fresh towels, but it’s nice to have the bed made, so we just let the steward do their thing. But to be honest, on the lines that do twice a day, I tell the steward we prefer just once. Twice is just too much!
  13. Just say no! Honestly, I know some people really struggle with this. I haven't had any bad experiences. I usually just let them do their whole sales pitch, and then say, "Nah, I'll pass, but thank you." I've really never had a more aggressive experience than that, but I know some people have. I really don't think you're going to find an answer that solves the problem of the sales pitch and how to avoid it. It's going to happen. It's part of the process. My best advice is just to not let it bother you, and enjoy the massage. But like I said, I know this can really be a struggle for some people. Good luck!
  14. Got a mailer today with 4 Blackjack tournaments listed over 2023. The GF has really been wanting to play in one on Carnival, since winning one on RCI lol (GP $500 - womp womp). Anyone done one of these before, and if so, trying to find some details on the structure and stuff. Can anyone direct me to some additional details or have some helpful info (how many rounds/how many people usually/ prizes after GP/ etc. etc. TIA!
  15. Same (except it's $32 now - no way!). I thought I'd have till the end of the "sale." So was going to complete purchasing today. Starting to wonder if it was a mistake that just got caught...
  16. Getting married on a ship in February, not RCI though. It’s an old ship already, so I know her years are numbered. But it’s the first ship we ever cruised on! And she’s always had a special place in my heart. We had the cruise booked already just for the fun of it, but then decided everything seemed right and decided to get married on that cruise. I’ve considered that someday she’ll be scraped, but it’s just another piece of our story!
  17. I mean, it might seem silly for you, but some people really like those burgers. TBH, my first cruise was on the Carnival Glory in 2018, and really enjoyed getting a nice burger and fries for lunch at the pool. A nice vacation activity, if you will. It was probably one of the things I looked forward to after the restart. Was on the Magic in June this year, and the fries were the crinkle cut deli fries, and the burgers were, decent, but not as good. I can't lie and say it wasn't a little disappointing. With that said though, there are obvious supply issues, so I'm not going to swear off Carnival because of it. All this really to say, some people do look forward to Guy's, there's no reason to judge someone for what they enjoy.
  18. Another yes, but I think you got your answer. 😉 Got bids in right now for a casino comp in October. Minimum bids not as low as I had hoped though!
  19. Was on Oasis in March, and yes, you could set it up, and yes, it was very hit or miss. Mostly miss. Was way too much of a hassle, we just went back to SeaPass.
  20. I book a room I'm happy with for sure, but I have a sailing in October where a suite is $7000 to book outright. Never would I pay that amount of money. However, it was a casino comp balcony, and my bids to upgrade are at $1000 each, so $2000 total. That is a $5000 difference. I'll take the Royal Up offer. If I get it, hurray! If I don't, well then I'm off the hook for 2 Gs. Not sure why people are so anti-RoyalUp. Sure, there are some issues. People have issues with standard bookings too.
  21. Yes, agree! However, it looks like the last date they have for next year is October - I tend to cruise in November - February. I have cruises booked already for this November and February 2023, so can't squeeze one, and definitely not a spring/summer cruiser. So I'm curious if they periodically add more, or if that's it for the year.
  22. Hello! Can anyone give some info on the "list" of Premier cruises - are these set like, once per year or something? I'd really like to grab one of these, but can't make any of the current cruises on the list. Will they add more periodically? Or is this it until the next cycle comes out? And if I don't book one of these, will I receive the next invitation? Any info here is appreciated!
  23. Lol, yeah, this might be low-balling a little. I know I'm a big proponent of "not having to spend much to get casino offers". But I wouldn't expect comped rooms for single digits. 😁
