  1. Thanks, Misty - Yes, I thought it would would a simple request to the Wedding Planner people. They advised they aren't able to do it for the other booking numbers.
  2. Hi all, Looking or any expert tips or helpful info. So, we are doing a Carnival Embarkation Day wedding, very small party - 8 total, including us - all will be sailing. What I would like to do is book the Steakhouse for the evening, for our group, but there are 3 different booking numbers. Doing this ahead of time does not seem to be an option. It was recommended that I purchase each as a gift separately. However, there isn't a way to see if there are 8 spots open at one time. The person I spoke with said it would have to be done once on the ship, which who knows what will be available then. Anyway, anyone know if there is a way around this, or any tips for this? Thank you!
  3. No, thar would just be stupid. However, they are well in advance of a due date, but with the due date included on the payment reminder, just like these notices. 😒
  4. Right?! Those vacations days be so limiting, always getting in the way! I haven't seen mention of any cancellations yet, due to the change. It was just announced that Liberty will be taking the place of Glory in NOLA - so maybe just moved to that ship... We're booked for February 2023 on the Glory, and getting married on the ship, so glad no changes until 2024! Phew!
  5. She is moving to Port Canaveral. Probably a dry dock in between.
  6. TBH, I'm surprised payment reminders would cause such frustration. I work for an independent insurance agency, where we send payment reminders frequently to get people to pay their bills. People get angry when we don't send them and they miss their payment. Not sure why this is cause for distress.
  7. I believe the VFIP offers are capacity controlled in some way. If there were different offers under different numbers, I could see different capacity being available - especially if there was a casino code on one.
  8. I regularly get a payment reminder for a 1/2024 cruise I've had booked since 2021. It's normal. And just a reminder.
  9. Sorry, I'm late to the party! But you're asking in the wrong place if you want some positive feedback! Calm down, everyone, I'm joking. I see there are a few positive comments. But TBH, I can only interact with these boards about once a month, as it is overwhelmingly negative and kind of sucks the fun out of cruising. If I were influenced by the comments on this board, I would never cruise again.
  10. I'm really have a lot of trouble understanding why people are so angry about this. Diamond and Diamond + members still have access to the Diamond Lounge, just not the Concierge Lounge. I mean, how many lounges to you all want?
  11. Hence the word "misunderstood" and "confused." Is it possible he received inaccurate information. Of course. Is it possible he didn't? Of course. Since I wasn't part of the conversation and have only the word of this rando posting on the interwebs (which, let's not forget, is inaccurate - regardless of where the misinformation occured), I'm certainly not going to make any decisions regarding how I feel about RCI or any of their reps, and declare my departure! from said cruise line.
  12. You don't think there is any chance that Jim misunderstood, and confused the term Concierge Lounge with Diamond Lounge? You feel 100% confident that didn't happen? I'll never understand how people take a 1 post drive-by complaint as gospel, swearing off a cruise line because of it. This thread is a perfect example of how misinformation spreads.
  13. Same. I'm sure the coder will be back on the job again today. 🤣
  14. I think the confusion is, no where in the wording does it state that it only applies to cruises booked after final payment, which means it could be left to interpretation. Possibly it is in the cruise contract, I don't know. But the FAQ does not list that stipulation.
  15. Normally, the captain, not so much - but I'll say on our last cruise on the Harmony, I actually found the captain to be very charismatic and entertaining. Don't tell anyone, but I might have had a little crush on him. 🥰 🤣 I've never been impressed with a CD on an RCI ship though...
  16. While I don't think it's the prettiest beach, I always have a great time! I actually love going to CocoCay, and mostly we just spend some time at South Beach, then end the day at the lagoon pool. Usually don't remember the trip back to the boat, and that's probably one of the reasons I like it most lol! Less pressure to not miss the ship after a day of drinking on the beach. I know that's not everyone's vibe though.
  17. Ya'll seem a little offended that RCI doesn't allow CBD. I think it's best to keep in mind, because it is legal in the US doesn't mean it's legal in every country, and a cruise will be traveling outside of the US.
  18. On my past 3 cruises, I have gotten the email and been able to bid 90 days prior to my sailing. Agreed there is no urgency to bid, but I liked knowing what it would cost for the bids. I didn't win any.
  19. Anyone else? website loads, but just spins once I search for my offers, then times out with 500 server error. pretty sure I was able to do it earlier today, so I'm sure temporary, albeit a bit frustrating. Just me??
  20. I really like having a balcony, but we find we spend little time on it, not sure the cost justifies the use. So we've tried booking a few interiors, but those cruises were either cancelled, or upgraded. Got an interior booked for February though, so we'll see how it goes! I'm not going to lie, I'm a little nervous about no access to natural light, we'll use the Bridge Cam trick during the day though and see if this is a mistake!
  21. Then they would have to specifically call out everything, rather than calling out the very few exceptions. Why not list just the exceptions and move on. I find this to be much less ambiguous. The direction matters because the travel requirements to enter the U.S. are different than the requirements to enter Europe, which is that all the protocols are centered around.
  22. I mean, to me it is pretty clear. Saying nothing about TAs out of the U.S. would indicate they aren't required, since it specifically states what IS required. I'm sure they could not allow you to leave, based on the requirements, but again, that is the traveler's responsibility to be informed and act accordingly.
  23. I imagine the 14+ day cruises are REEEEAAAL calm, lol. But I really wouldn't say a 7 day on a Vista class (or larger) ship is that wild, really. Yes, occasionally a news-worthy story will pop out from one the 7+ cruises, but for the most part, they aren't much trouble. I find the RCI crowd to be pretty low-key for the most part. Sure, as they say, Carnival likes to bring the fun, but there are lots of quite relaxing places if that's what you seek. 5 days or less...totally different story lol.
