  1. What I think I figured out is -FR only gives option for guaranteed, the other let's you select your room.
  2. Not going to lie, I love free cruise ship coffee. It's not good by any means, but there's something so comforting about it. I think mostly because I associate it with cruising. 😄 That said, Cafe Promenade is definitely decent, I'm no coffee snob or anything, but they have professional equipment and do a decent job. I always start my day with a free bad free coffee, because it just feels right, but then through the day would go to the Cafe Promenade. I definitely think it's worth the money.
  3. There are occasions when someone misses a flight or can't make it or something, should the whole party not be allowed to sail?
  4. I think it's pretty easy to break even, just that sticker shock really hits hard lol. 😄
  5. I'm on Harmony in October as well, if you see that price, shout it out!
  6. Yet somehow Disney has solved the adult only area...
  7. I couldn't agree with this more. Carnival really needs a nice adults only area. Yes, Serenity, but I would really like a cold pool for my adult only area. I was on Magic in June, and SO MANY kids. The Serenity area was very limited, and no pool. I could tolerate getting in the pool, but you could tell there were a lot of adults who just wanted to relax in some pool water with a nice drink without 25 kids splashing around. And before anyone comes at me, yes, Carnival is a family line, I get it. But so is Disney, and from what I hear, they have a pretty decent adult only area on the ships. Just because a line is family-oriented doesn't mean a nice adult area wouldn't be appreciated, regardless of intended audience (or price!).
  8. We played in RCCL's casino for one cruise and started getting free balcony offers. Can't say we really even dropped much bank, a few Gs. They are usually pretty select and limited in date though. Carnival was't coming close on offers. We booked the first one we received. However, I'll say, after the last points reset and/or booking we did, we got removed from the mailing list. Had to request to be "enabled" again, and I must say, offers aren't so great now, and Carnival's are definitely better. We'll see what happens.
  9. Celebration, without a doubt! What's the question here?? 😉
  10. Yes, it's the Pizza place. Not all the varieties were available, not sure if that was due to what time it was (it was always a late-night thing for us - may be different during the day, but not sure).
  11. These seem like a lot of commitment just to take a cruise.... Maybe he OP should just wait until the next opportunity to cruise, and pass on this one...
  12. Just curious, when you get a dinner comp or something from the pit boss/host, how is this done? Do they send a certificate to your room or something? Or while you're playing? Or some other way? How did you find out you had the dinner comp? Thanks!
  13. I'm not sure "where ever they wanted" was meant to be that literal... But for reference, on my last Carnival cruise in June, it wasn't uncommon to get a whif of the ganja on the open decks, and wafting off the balconies. Mildly annoying, but mostly outside.
  14. We have the Glory booked for February, my first ship, and she has my heart! Looking to actually possibly get married during the sailing! However, more importantly, I am on the hunt for my lucky slot machine (joking...well, only half), which I hit my first ever (small) jackpot on! I hope it's still there! 😂😂
  15. I'm not young, but you've given me something to think about. 🤣
  16. I can't help with most of your questions, but yes, people bring wine onboard. It's not frowned upon.
  17. The way the casino host explained it to me was, you get the on-board instant-certificates based on points you earn on that particular cruise, but they are the the preliminary offers. After the cruise ends, they then figure the final points, based on game-play (again, table players - slots is pretty straight-forward), add it to your total points and then send the better offers. So I usually pass on the instant certificates. Not sure the accuracy of this, but I can say that my partner, who plays Blackjack, was not Prime when we left the ship, but a week later was Prime, after the finalized points were awarded.
