  1. It's just a SELF-ADMINISTERED antigen test. Easy-peasy. Not the PITA PCRs that have scheduling (and other) issues.
  2. If the service is great, we'll tip cash on top of what's automatically added. If, OTOH, we get the bumpkin loud talker who laughs/cackles at her own jokes when we're trying to have a nice, quiet, romantic dinner, then no. Almost always, the servers in the specialty restaurants have been top notch, but "almost."
  3. I've heard HAL described as "Newly wed or nearly dead" I'd say they are more traditional cruises: still well-attended formal nights, far above the norm for service attentiveness, slower paced, quieter, relaxing. It's perfect if your "entertainment" is the people you're cruising with or the people you'll meet.
  4. Anyone done much traveling on Interline rates? If my partner qualifies when we book the cruise, but later decides to longer work for the organization, are we still booked at the Interline rate or do we pay the difference?
  5. Guessing you don't work in IT. You don't have to be doing something nefarious to decide who gets to see your information, and how much information they get. There are a lot of ways to mitigate tracking. If you don't care, great! It doesn't mean those of us who do care should have our motives categorized as paranoid in a condescending post. You don't know everyone's lives.
  6. Now THIS could be very interesting...
  7. I'm with you. Figured I'd get the wallet (https://godarkbags.com/collections/rfid-blocking-bags) since I wasn't sure the sleeve would provide enough protection. Glad to know it does! We likely have the same pack :-). Woof!
  8. If the Miami one goes through St. Maarten, and your daughter is into movies, book dinner with Yoda Guy (or just visit his museum/gift shop). When I took my early-20s daughter, she said it was the highlight of her trip. http://thatyodaguy.com
  9. I'd say you're going to be disappointed here. RCCL has some Broadway-worthy shows. In my experience, and Princess IS our favorite line, it's closer to Vaudeville. Not that this is bad, but don't go in expecting the big shows. Sometimes raunchy comedians, musical acts that are generally good (including some amazing violinists and pianists in the bars), acrobats, a hulahoop guy and his wife, etc. Entertainment is where Royal far outshines Princess. Everything else is wonderful. Just save the entertainment expectations for New York.
  10. Thank you. It didn't last year, but I guess they got fiscally smarter.
  11. Depends on where you're going: https://www.euronews.com/travel/2022/06/20/what-s-the-latest-on-european-travel-restrictions. Many countries have lifted their restrictions, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and GREECE (are you listening, Princess?)
  12. This. After canceling four cruises last year, we spent some wonderful vacation time in places that were less restrictive. Looking forward to cruising again, but if it goes back to not-fun-restrictions, I've always wanted to see Nashville...
  13. IANAL, but we canceled several cruises last year and were fully refunded (even on non-refundable ones.) The terms of the contract have changed since you entered into it. I'm not sure if Princess' fine print has changed in the last year, but my lawyer advised me to pursue it (thousands of $). Unless expressly stated, it can't be unilaterally changed without your consent. Read through all their pages to see. Taking the FCC may be the easier way out. Thanks for the heads-up. Our transatlantic is not listed here: https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/vaccine-testing-requirements/voyages-with-enhanced-guidelines.html -- hopefully, it's not just "yet." Do you think this is driven by one of the places you're visiting?
  14. I see nothing on their site about the self-test being PROCTORED. Just a "self-test."
  15. Is she someone who doesn't require a lot? We have friends who never pay gratuities, but they are very self-sufficient and do not make demands on the staff. You do you.
