  1. On HAL Zuiderdam and 1983 Nieuw Amsterdam. About 30 with Home Lines (favorite). 2 Princess, 3 Cunard, 2 Celebrity, 1 Chandris, 5 RCCL, 4 Carnival, 1 Norwegian America
  2. Some of the HAL port times are ridiculous. 2pm departure from HMC! I always prefer sea days, but the reduced port times make it difficult to spend any quality time in a port.
  3. The best was years ago when the horns were from steam and each ship's sound was unique.
  4. Just sounds odd as the first word of the name has always had more than one syllable. But it is a good name.
  5. I think this shows that maintenance is insufficient on the ships. Drydockings are needed more than once every 5 years. The cruise lines only drydock their ships when required by law. Years ago cruise lines drydocked their ships at least every other year, and before that it was done annually.
  6. We loved the wow factor of the Oasis class, but there's something about the Anthem that kept us coming back. Even a senior officer told us that he felt the Anthem was a bit more elevated an experience than the Harmony. I love Central Park and 150 though!
  7. Home Lines' Oceanic. Nothing has ever come close!
  8. My best Carnival memory was the first cruise we took with the kids. My mother and sister came too.
  9. Ny to BDA cruises were great. SO nice docking on Front Street. It was not alot of sea days for the crew. Crew liked these cruises because they got more time off the ship.
  10. We try hard to keep our room clean and to make conversation and show appreciation to our stateroom attendant. However, I go on a cruise to be pampered and want twice a day service. It is nice to have a cleaned stateroom late morning and when going to bed. I am not there to make life easier for the attendant, although we truly try and show our appreciation with additional tips and kindness. I don't think twice a day service is too much to expect.
  11. Could Johnny Faevalen be on the Icon since he's no longer listed above?
  12. What about bringing back the Filipino bands and Rosario Strings? The music used to be so much better.
  13. Thanks for the fleet report. Today is also National Coming Out Day.
  14. The quote by Mitch Albom has always been so meaningful to me since I read the book. I think of it often as my father died suddenly at age 57 when I was only 30.
  15. I was wondering if anyone was on the ships and could tell us how it was handled. It is also ironic that the keel of the new Queen Anne was laid today.
