  1. As with anything, it's always good to shop around. I didn't see anything wrong with the prices I paid (with credit) for a recent excursion in Ocho Rios, but I've been looking at the prices for stuff at my upcoming Bermuda cruise and...yeah, the cruise line has quite a bit of markup in it (more than the $50 credit for a few, in fact) so... Do the research, book accordingly.
  2. Solo cabins on the Encore (Breakaway+) open inward, but...there is no vestibule. IIRC, the balcony cabins opened outward
  3. Food Republic was open for lunch on the Encore
  4. Yes. Yes, but American Diner is really inexpensive and when my buddy used his SDC on it the staff looked at him like he was crazy.
  5. Actually, I'm going to retract that.. I just pulled out my dailies and it wasn't in my last full day one. But.. it definitely was in a 2nd document that was dropped off on the last full day. I didn't bring that one home with me.
  6. All of that info was in my freestyle daily for the last day, as well as an additional specific disembarkation document that was delivered.
  7. I was on the Encore and the offerings were pretty similar in our Maltings Whiskey Bar. Honestly, I drank the snot out of the EH Taylor until we killed the bottle (we only had 1 or 2 of them) and then I used the P+ to try new things, *edit* all of which are listed there as general offerings for P+. Scotches and Cognacs. That Galveston was good and the Macallan Quest was way better than expected! I wonder if there's a "Whiskey Bar" on the Dawn that isn't actually a whiskey bar. Maybe the Wine or Champagne bar?
  8. While I certainly wouldn't argue with "the source" on this one, it does leave me with some questions.. As part of this whole change, they're also eliminating the Junior (assistant? what's the term?) Steward position and likely promoting all of them to full room stewards as well... so i'm not sure why they'd be taking on more rooms when there's going to be twice as many of them (or exactly as many depending on how you look at it) and half the work?
  9. diluted with what? you think they're mixing in bottled purified water? the ship either has adequate/safe filtration for tap water or it doesn't (wherever the hell that pic came from doesn't). the water on the ship is fine.
  10. I'm all for once daily service (not so keen on the DSC increase tho!). On my trip on the Encore in Studio a couple weeks ago it seemed like my steward was in my room 3-4 times a day. It was actually kind of obnoxious.
  11. Is the Studio lounge on the Prima "open" all night or did it seem like they shut it down at some point? Still accessible, but..no amenities? I was on the Encore a couple of weeks ago and it felt like they took everything out of the lounge around 10-11PM or so and turned off the coffee makers/wine pours.
  12. Next time I get sent to Nassau I will probably just stay on the boat. Huge letdown when they diverted us there a couple of weeks ago.
  13. My experience with shore excursions is exactly 1, but... nobody checked the name on the ticket when I did mine. I think that was @resetjet's point.
  14. Kinky Boots has been missing from the app for a while for all sailings, I believe. It wasn't there for my Dec 18-23 one. We had to book it on-ship through the TV. Buuuuuut, it was stated in another thread that KB performed their last show on the Encore during this most recent sailing, so... it's gone.
  15. It says only if guest 1 and guest 2 take it? unless i'm misreading the flyer. (so if the minor was made guest 2, guest 3 and guest 4 won't get the package)
  16. Ahh... And if you do it that way, then over21 guest #3 won't get the FAS alcohol.
  17. I completely misspoke lol. Ignore that whole part. Soda is included with FAS. I believe the under 21 person will get the soda package instead of the beverage package as well.
  18. https://www.ncl.com/sites/default/files/FreeatSeaPlus_0.pdf All adults on the booking will get the beverage benefit..
  19. Food Republic and American Diner, I think, are the only two that are. I had Food Republic during my sailing a couple of weeks ago.. Open from 11a-1:30p. I crushed a bunch of sushi
  20. You don't have to take the Unlimited Beverage Package part of FAS if you're not going to get enough use out of it. If you uncheck the box at booking, it decreases the price of the trip accordingly.
  21. Not tax, just gratuity. The taxes are only charged when you're in a US port. It's annoying for sure, but there's no way you can "pre-pay" them.
  22. You're still in the US/Florida until your ship is 3 miles out to sea.
  23. We ran into this in our group. Not sure why it doesn't just show "Unavailable" but that's what it means. Anyone under 18 will show it as Purchased. They won't be able to get in though.
  24. https://www.ncl.com/apps#:~:text=The Cruise Norwegian mobile app is not intended for children, granted through their mobile app.
