  1. I had chips and dip yesterday, but since today is their day, I'll have them again. 😊If I had a kitten, I'd cuddle it, but will cuddle the cat instead😺 and probably the dogs 🐕 🐶 too since @StLouisCruisers says we can. Good quote from Ms Roosevelt. I would like the meal sans mushrooms, try the drink, yes please to the wine, not been to the port - look forward to pictures. Big days in history. Kroger delivered our order early this morning. We did not get the chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches - I guess the Universe is looking after my health cuz I'm pretty sure I would have eaten one for breakfast. No work today as I'm taking a 3 day weekend. Tomorrow would be my younger brother's birthday; we lost him to suicide and this part of March is difficult. He left 7 children behind and a wife that can barely put one foot before the other. 💔 Yay - no rain forecasted today!! Yard Guy says he'll be out, not sure if it's today or tomorrow, but he has been warned the weeds are thick and wet w/water still standing in the backyard. Currently 48° headed to sunny 70°. Prayers 🙏 and positive thoughts for all.
  2. Hi - I'm not on a standby list (sure wish I lived close enough to a port to do that). I was responding to @Laurie59.
  3. Congrats! Sounds like a good deal all the way around - standby and upgrade. Thanks for the info - hope you have a fabulous cruise
  4. Well, what was supposed to be a day of goofing off has turned upside down. After the sad news of the Princess' announcement of her health and the death of NA Crew, I've learned a local fireman was shot while responding to a welfare call in my city.🙏 https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/arlington-firefighter-shot-on-duty/3495833/
  5. Prayers, positive thoughts and hugs as you prepare for and go through the procedure. Hope this brings the much needed relief you deserve.🙏❤️
  6. Unfortunate to hear - not the way you want to end a cruise. Safe travels home.
  7. Such sad news. Condolences and prayers for the Crew, family & loved ones. Hope this link works. THIS IS AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM HOLLAND AMERICA LINE REGARDING THE EVENTS TODAY ON THE NIEUW AMSTERDAM https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2999197-nieuw-amsterdam-explosion/?do=findComment&comment=67131459
  8. Such sad event - condolences, thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the deceased. Parayers for the Crew, passengers and all impacted.
  9. NS the CO dining room is the one that was a meat locker on the first cruise post drydock. Nov 26 - Dec 10, I believe were the dates. Several others who were on during that time posted about it, as well. I do hope you find it better. The food was good, no issue with that, but we couldn't get past the crazy cold temperature.
  10. Exactly @mawvkysc in that screenshot scenario HAL selected cabin 4003 for you rather than you picking one. A guarantee will show "your stateroom will be assigned before sailing" (or similar verbiage) rather than a cabin number. Simple - a cabin number visible on the booking confirmation is different than a "Guarantee."
  11. I have done CO for both - the upgrade and dining. As dedicated dining is only available on the 3 Pinnacle Class ships and 1 of those the room was so cold we went to MDR instead, I have quickly learned that benefit is not as valuable to me as I thought it would be.
  12. @Overhead Fred thanks for sharing the amazingly beautiful flowers.
  13. Or revert back to the original CO pricing. When the program launched, it was double the cost it is now.
  14. Happy Heavenly Birthday to your dad. 98 is a big number - lots of time for memories. Extra hugs for you today 🤗
  15. What a beautiful boy! Thanks for sharing. Warms my heart to hear he's had pretty good weeks since his spell.
  16. Your alternate meal sounds (and looks) great!! We need Smell-o-Vision cuz I'm pretty sure the aroma is fabulous!
  17. Our first cruise in the early 90's we also climbed Dunn's River Falls and consider it to be among our best experiences - very pretty. Sept 2022 cruise we also went rafting down the Martha Brae and thoroughly enjoyed it. At a stop where the guides went into the trees and swung out into the river, DH asked if he could go too. They let him!
