  1. I'm guessing door "decor" such as TA advertisements is the reason for the X prohibition of any door adornments, along with anything offensive or secured with adhesive that may leave residue. No problem with the fun and festive decorations.
  2. Don't shoot the messenger (I'm a newbie so I'm reading all of the fine print...). This is from the Code of Conduct.
  3. The "infamous" double cheeseburger shows on Day 2 of the ever-reliable app menu of @AbbyCruiser45 EQ sailing. Perhaps she will have the honor of ordering and snapping the first photo of said MDR offering?
  4. Wow...I just can't scroll on by without commenting. I'm guessing Grammy thought that since they were on a ship, there was no where for her grandson to go missing. It sends chills up my spine thinking what could have happened to this precious child in the middle of the sea on a ship full of strangers.
  5. Is it possible pax weren't drinking Budweiser products?
  6. My guess is the latest cost-cutting culinary (?) offerings are the brainstorm of new president Laura Hodges Bethge. Sign of more changes on the way?
  7. I notice they added a double cheeseburger to the MDR menu for our September Equinox cruise. 🤣🤣
  8. @jelayne Footnote on T&Cs for X cruise booked through TA last week. Not a big deal but will scrutinize travel docs prior to sailing just in case.
  9. My understanding is the 1/pax goes into effect July 1 so that's why folks still see 2 per on their recent travel docs.
  10. Apologies for resurrecting this thread, but the Celebrity Conduct Code now shows that guests are allowed to bring one bottle of wine on board per guest, not two. Anyone have a recent experience to share? Guests are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages onboard; with the exception of embarkation day when each guest (of legal drinking age) is permitted to bring onboard one (1) 750 ml bottle of wine (which are subject to a corkage fee) per guest.
  11. I had never heard of a closed-loop cruise until today so I probably wasted time and $$ getting my expedited passport renewal in the mail for my September ABC island cruise. Anyway, packet was received by Philadelphia office on Saturday 6/10. Too soon for online status updates. Worst case, it looks like I can use my DL and birth cert so hubby won't have to sail without me after all. 😁
  12. Question for the hospitality/F&B pros in this forum: Any idea as to how cruise lines contract for food, beverages and other consumables (paper goods, cleaning products, linens, etc)? Reason I ask is I notice week-over-week price increases (and stock-outs) at the grocery store and I find it hard to believe that even with contracts in place the cruise industry would be immune from the current rapid inflation and availability constraints, hence rising pax fares and menu alterations.
  13. With all due respect to your DH, as soon as I read "6S and Lean Certified," I had flashbacks to my working days where all employees were required to complete a 6S project. Just a check-in-the-box waste of time and resources in that particular corporate environment.
  14. My understanding is $2 bills can be problematic for staff and crew depending on the country where they spend or bank the bills because they can be perceived as bogus. Sounds like a novel idea but we'll stick with 1, 5, 10 and 20s.
  15. Port Everglades (Caribbean itinerary) on Eclipse. Same as Sept 2023 except ship is Equinox.
  16. Dark Chocolate Ganache Cake and Cheesecake show on the current EQ room service menu on the app 🤔. Anyone try ordering it from RS recently?
  17. Interesting; just noticed the RS charge for our October 2024 cruise is $12 with no mention of gratuity. September 2023 cruise RS charge is $9.95 + 18% gratuity.
  18. DH plays at Divi Golf (9 holes); typically the tournaments on Wednesday and Friday (best ball or scramble format?) and the rental clubs are excellent quality and condition. Also check out Tierra del Sol. Further away from the cruiseport, pricey and windy but beautiful views.
  19. We live ~5 hours away from PE and trying to decide if we should leave home first thing the morning of embarkation and head straight for terminal parking or drive to Fort Lauderdale the night prior and stay in a nearby hotel then drive to the terminal close to our boarding time. I'm guessing less stress going the night before but hoping the experienced cruisers may have some pros/cons (or horror stories) to share.
  20. Similar experience as @cruisemom42 and @StollyBolly with first cruise on Sitmar Fairwind in the early 70s when I was in high school. I'll never forget the delicious food, pizza and the gorgeous midnight buffet complete with intricate ice sculptures. My guess is the crew enjoyed having young passengers for a change and they were wonderful to my brother and me. I remember having to use the hand dryer in the ladies room (Lido deck?) to dry my hair because the in-room plugs were either European or non-existent. Fast forward several non-cruising decades and we're going on Celebrity this fall (first cruise for DH).
