  1. @bluesea777 Windows Main Dining Room (deck 6 aft) requires men to wear long pants Is that still the case? I thought that that had been removed with only a Specialty requiring them.
  2. @RADGIRL80 2 nights for 2 people, one with a bottle of wine. Book them and then explain what you want when you go. They only book about 30% of places before the cruise. I am surprised that ALL have gone already. There will be plenty once you board. There will be a special place on embarkation day to book your dining.
  3. @So_Tweetie Oh yeah, excursion rates are wild! Not only in Alaska!! Try New Zealand, Iceland, Norway!! Probably right round the world
  4. From the Latitude information page Shore excursions can be pre-booked typically 1 year prior to sailing for Platinum and above members. I don't know for other people though.
  5. @DiscoPapa NCL chartered train Where is there any information about an NCL chartered train for either debarking or embarking passengers please?
  6. That sounds like the normal; we are doing Seward to Vancouver in April and they are NZD428 (USD265) each; just 7 days one way.
  7. I think that the picture settings for online check-in have been decreased as ours were difficult in the past nut now go far more quickly. However i have heard that they will redo at the port anyway. That was what happened at Reykjavik late last year.
  8. As soon as you board the ship go and talk to the Cruise Next people and find out from them. They will sort it all out for you.
  9. Try https://wanderlog.com/weather/58264/5/ketchikan-weather-in-may#:~:text=The average temperature in Ketchikan,F (6°C). Then try the other ports too
  10. It would appear that that is the situation these days; 50 days out for debarkation tours.
  11. Anything to get more money out of your pocket.
  12. Very uncommon on the promenade deck of the mid sized ships these days.
  13. Ask someone to send you (or post on here) the Freestyle Dailies so you can see what is likely to be available.
  14. I would agree. get a print out from Guest Services. It is easy to follow and you have a hard copy you can write on and also take back to Ouest Services if you need to discus something.
  15. @roysmith99 How many days is the cruise? My guess is the £600 is most likely the Daily Service Charge for the two of you in the Suite. (I don't know the Suite DSC in £.) However if the Suite DSC for the two of you is less than £600 the rest may well be the Service Charges for the "Free" Specialty Dining Package and the Premium Beverage Package. (Again I don't know the SCs for those in £) In New Zealand, we book through Australia, our Confirmation Email has the following The two Service Charges are both $0.00 as they are built into the fare we pay. HTH A P

  17. @cruise*enthusiast Or the reverse cruise from Seward to Vancouver on the Jewel 22 April.
  18. @cruise*enthusiast Personally as late as possible in the season. Especially if you collect souvenirs or want presents for people, the shops will be having BIG sales!!! VBG
  19. Find a cruise with both!! Glacier Bay for the glaciers and Icy Strait Point to sit with some long drinks looking for whales.
  20. @D_And_K_gocruising What are your thoughts on "going cheap"? That is the only way to go!! How else can a retired teacher and retired pharmacist afford 100+ days a year cruising? Inside cabin and nothing put on the ship account!! Just take what is available "free".
  21. @juanita1767 You will see something like this on your Confirmation email.
  22. We live in New Zealand and there are almost NO Auckland to Auckland cruises and so when we cruise it is usually TWO LONG international flights. AND Expensive!! We put up with that and cruise twice a year in the Northern Hemisphere; 50+ days every time to spread the air costs.
  23. If you really want to see Norwegian Fjords then none of these really suits use. Hurtigruten https://www.hurtigruten.com/en-au?&infinity=ict2~net~gaw~ar~643876941310~kw~hurtigruten~mt~p~cmp~AU_COA_Tactical_Core_B2C_W21_YR_2021_NO_All~ag~Brand+Core&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA4NWrBhD-ARIsAFCKwWsJp38lGP631Vr8Dz7M85UgQIO6HWR442NqMlzagF8h1goANxypVCUaAu_1EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  24. How about posting the two itineraries? Then we can compare without having to search.
