  1. We noticed it mid afternoon and when I showered later, still happened and stained our shower curtain. Friends in different area of the ship, same thing , stained shower curtain and sink water blue green.
  2. Water is safe but sometimes it tastes really awful. We now order a 12 bottle pack of water in advance of our cruise, and it is usually waiting in our cabin. On occassion in dining room, the water smells bad.Could be the ice but I usually ask for another glass and tell them it smells. Once on Caribbean Princess(Rt NY , New England cruise about 6 years ago) they put some chemical in the water during the cruise. We actually saw it coming out of the tap slightly blue-green.My husband drank a glass and vomited. I went down to Passenger services and they admitted nothing. I had just showered in it and it stained the shower curtain. A warning that day should have been issued. I asked if they would supply bottled water and they said we would have to buy it. My husband threw up and wanted to know what he drank. Was told he wouldn't understand. I said yes he would, he is a chemist. He got no response from Princess.
  3. Got an email yesterday regarding out 20 day cruise Nov 27th , Mexico and Central America on the Diamond Princess Nov 27th. Says no longer need to take Covid test if fully vaccinated. A few days before that had gotten reminder email about taking Covid test.
  4. when we get off in Brooklyn Terminal, we use Dial 7 car service. I arrange in advance via email . Also I always have a porter to help with luggage. They get us through the terminal quickly (customs etc) and bring us right to where the pick ups are for cars and shuttles. They always seem to know what is going on. Wonder why all the confusion now at the port. One thing I also do in advance is look up what terminal our airline flies out of when going to JFK, A couple of times we did tours getting off ship with dropoff at JFK. Once the dropoffs begin, it can take about 45 minutes for the bus driver to get to your terminal if it is last. American Airlines is always the last dropped off.Seems like once they stop at a terminal, they go back out of airport and go around to the next one. Seems really confusing.
  5. It was a 7 day cruise to Mexico. With the huge crowds and lines on Carnival getting on the ship, anyone sick would have spread it.Never saw such lines on Princess. My husband did get very sick on a 7 day cruise in April on Princess(two days after leaving ship) and so did lots of people on our roll call (Discovery).
  6. I recently took a very last minute cruise on another cruise line.Booked a few days before the cruise. There is no Covid threads recently on their Cruise Critic board. Same as Princess regarding pre testing for unvaxed, vaxed none required. never heard any talk from anyone regarding isolation rooms. Crew all wore masks. Very few passengers wearing masks except in the terminal. We wore them when we were in crowds. Never heard coughing in the theatre and we went every night. 4000 passengers on board. Really felt like there was no pandemic at all. We never saw the little tables for food in front of cabins for "sick people" like what we have seen on Princess. No talk by anyone about Covid. Got home last night and we tested ourselves. All good. Will do it again in a couple of days to be sure. There was the usual "covid instruction" in our cabin to read on our first day. Carnival Panorama out of Long Beach (our first cruise on this cruise line in many years and it was fun).
  7. Very interesting to hear the comments on shows. We had not cruised Carnival for several years and decided to give it a try again on the Panorama. We have 76 cruises on Princess and was tired of the same old thing, food, shows etc. Just got off the ship yesterday and was so impressed with the shows, seeing them for the first time. In a 7 day cruise, getting 4 production shows, all different a real treat for us. I totally loved them. So if you really want to be bored, try Princess with their same old tired shows. Lately with a 7 day cruise you are lucky if you get the two shows promised. last cruise recently we got one in 10 days. Everything is blamed on Covid on those ships. We were tired of hearing about it. Not to get off topic on this thread but a quick mention, loved the food venues too.
  8. I faxed mine in and didn't hear back. After a week I called. I was asked the date and time I faxed it in, person found it and gave me the credit. She also sent me a confirmation email as well as a new booking information that now contained the credit information. Next time I wanted to pre purchase something, my credit was used towards the payment.
  9. This is the first week with no testing required if fully vaxxed. We are cruising on Saturday and hope the staff is now aware of the recent change. I printed up the page from Carnival's website stating no test required for fully vaxxed.Ours will be the first 7 day cruise that doesn't require the test.
  10. Weird , the hotels in Southampton don't have wash clothes. We stayed at Holiday Inn our first trip , no wash cloths. next time at Premier Inn, none there either. Both hotels we clean and comfortable.Convenient to the big indoor shopping center in case you need to shop for anything.
  11. We have had New York as port of call several times and it always docked in Brooklyn. Wish it would have been New York City.
  12. Wednesday morning I faxed in my Shareholders Request. Didn't check until Thursday, and there was the credit, already posted on my cruise. Things are improving on Princess.
  13. I booked flexible fare but cancelled it after a few days.Turned out booking direct was cheaper and worth it even if I had to pay up front. Somewhere in the paperwork on flexible air (unless I misunderstood) it said they could raise rates until final payment.A friend of mine also booked on HAL and read the same interpretation.
  14. I booked on line but would like to transfer booking to my travel agent. What do I do? Will HAL allow it, has been 3 weeks since I booked. Is there a form to use for this? Thank you.
  15. Strange that you have old shows on your cruise. When we were on the same cruise in August 2019, there were some fantastic new shows, very high tech with pyrotechnics. had to go to the shows early to get seats. Don't remember the names of the shows but have never seen them on any ship , even the newer ships had different ones. That awful show with the Car on stage is more than 10 years old.
  16. I have final payment coming soon this month for our 20 day Diamond cruise Nov 27th. Not a small chunk of change and hate to pay then wait for my money to come back. If this cruise is in jeopardy Princess should postpone final payment until sure they will let this cruise sail.
  17. We were on this cruise in 2019. Friend of mine flew in and also waited at the airport for a very long time. We flew in the night before and stayed at an airport hotel and morning of the cruise took car service. Much more convenient and for two people cheaper than Princess.Sometimes cruising out of Brooklyn we just take a cab when at the airport. Convenient. We fly to JFK.
  18. The Medallions are programmed by the ship before you board. It will open the correct cabin number. We had changed cabins about a week before our cruise , had our medallions, and the new cabin was programmed in.We were able to check in and board the ship with the medallion we had prior to the cruise.
  19. We are booked on November 27, 20 day cruise out of San Diego. I hope it isn't cancelled. We have FCC from a cruise I had to cancel because of Covid on that cruise and the FCC will expire by 12/31/22. They just brought the ship to San Pedro. Wonder what it will be doing floating around for a few months. I was wondering about what is happening. I kept noticing that September cruises were not being offered one day, then the next offered again. This has been going on for a couple of weeks.
  20. We fly in the day before when we cruise from Brooklyn terminal. Take car service to the cruise terminal. Getting off the ship, in the past several times we did a Princess NYC tour with dropoff at JFK. Flying home for us has always been early evening. Nice way to kill a few hours.Funny, three times in a row we had the same lady as our tour guide. I grew up in NY so really didn't need any tours. The Princess tours were just great bringing back wonderful memories for me. Last time we flew home from Newark so couldn't do any tours, don't think offered. We took Princess transportation to the airport. We never take Princess transportation from any airports to the ship. Cabs, private car services .Usually there is a long wait to board till the buses fill with arriving passengers. The few times we did use the bus is if we booked Pre cruise hotels arranged by Princess and it included pickup at airport and transport to the ship.
  21. $5-$10 depending on size of suitcase. Got off ship in Brooklyn NY. Luggage handler came over to us as we found our luggage. He asked if we wanted to do it hard way or easy. We said easy. he took our luggage and went past humongous line waiting to go through customs (we arrived from Europe and most passengers weren't U.S. citizens). He signaled to someone . They opened a rope for us to pass and we were the next in line. Then he took our luggage passed crowds and brought us to where Car service guy could find us easily and he was just arriving in the terminal area.Gave him $20 then. Today would have given him $30. He probably saved us a good hour.Normally we drag our own luggage from the terminal but that day so glad he asked the question.
  22. Ours is one of those that shows us as Blue card(first time cruisers) on the appl. It is totally useless to try and get someone to fix it. However, when you order the medallions , in the order process it does show us as Elite(photo of medallion has the black Princess seawitch) and our medallions have been arriving correctly. Also we are recognized as Elite on board and on the website. So why when we try to buy the internet through the appl., it won't give us the discount. Frustrating to have to call Princess and have them do it. Someone had suggested that you wait till on board and do it first day. Well, as most have already found out, the price for internet is more on board and the 50% off is at higher price. Don't assume you can just go to passenger services for correction. They will refer you to Internet Cafe manager. Don't even try to go there the first two days, big lines waiting to speak to him. When I finally met with the guy he told me basically, the discount on the lower price must be done prior to the cruise . He was aware of the Medallion Appl not showing it for some of us. he said call Princess or your travel agent to do it. He gave me the credit. On the Ruby, a really nice Internet manager.
  23. No one looked at the Arrive Can when we boarded in SF on the Ruby. No time during the cruise did anyone check although there was reminder in the Patter daily to do the Arrive Can if we hadn't. When we got off in Prince Rupert Island, no one asked to see it.
