  1. used a travel agent . Don't know if she got email since she is currently on a cruise. I checked on the cruise and see the itinerary change and note in the travel summary.This is the first time on a cruise ship that we will see an eclipse.
  2. So we were on the Diamond Princess , cruised out of San Diego, 20 day cruise It left on Nov 27th. We had a kettle in our cabin. We were in a full suite on Caribe deck aft. So surprised. We actually had packed Via instant coffee so made it every morning. Also got tea bags from the buffet. Our friends cruising with us in balcony cabins didn't have one. And another friend with also a suite didn't either. So don't know if it was left over from when the ship was in Asia . Enjoyed having it. It had a automatic shut off so it was safe to use. Water boiled very quickly.
  3. We have been cruising out of Los Angeles and San Francisco. Our dine time has always been between 7 and 7:30 on our 7 cruises since the pandemic restart.We pick our dine time on the Medallion appl. prior to the cruise. We have never experienced lines like your post.After a couple of days , we just go to our assigned table(the first evening if we like our wait staff we ask to remain at that table). In affect it becomes fixed dining. At the door they check to make sure the table is available and we then walk to our table. If we can see our table from the door, we just go there.
  4. I got no reply after complaining for the who knows how many times that I am still showing Blue instead of black. So I had thought one more time to try and ask. Got no reply from my email. This was in early January.
  5. So I emailed and will see how long for a response, if it gets fixed etc. I also mentioned in the email that my Travel agent was told but Navigator on the phone that they can't fix the problem. I will report back when I hear.

My travel agent today was told by Navigator that they couldn't fix the problem.First she was on hold with Princess and the call back feature had them calling her back several hours later. Then they connected her with Navigator and same thing but they did call back in a bout an hour. All for nothing because couldn't fix it.
  7. Bidding process works well. I did that a few weeks before my last cruise. Nice to have the cabin upgrade you want before you board. In October 2021 on the Majestic lots of empty cabins.They were giving away the upgrades for free. I was pretty upset because a few days before that cruise I called Princess and paid to upgrade to a mini suite and now people were getting it free. My husband mentioned it to Passenger services and after they checked with the main office gave us an onboard refundable credit equal to what we paid for the one week upgrade. We actually were on for two weeks but only complained on the second week.I was surprised that my husband even said anything about it but he was checking on something else and casually mentioned it to the person helping him. Now with the bidding process, doubt if anyone is getting free upgrades once on board.
  8. Funny I had contacted my travel agent about this. She just checked and she couldn't get discount on her device either. She updated her appl and still no discount. Oops she is also blue not elite on her appl. She has over 2,000 days with Princess.When will Princess take care of this glitch. Would save a huge amount of phone calls especially now that we can't get our discounts on internet.
  9. I have updated. I think the problem is we are elite (76 cruises)and the appl shows us as Blue. I told my travel agent and she said she will look into it.This has been wrong for a year and calling in the past has done nothing. We have had six cruises showing us as Blue so that never changes. I did order Medallions this evening and the order is correct showing Black.So the appl only recognizes some thing correctly for us.
  10. when I log in the full amount shows not the discount, do I have to go one more step and select buy before the discount shows or is it suppose to show at the price showing?
  11. My travel agent booked the new cruise then cancelled the other one. Just had FCD and when cancelled went back into my account. She used another FCD to book the new cruise. (she booked the new one before cancelling the old one and I think somehow that is why the medallion appl. is screwed up.Not her fault but programing issue on the appl.
  12. So I was lucky for a long time, my appl actually worked. Just cancelled a cruise for July and rebooked another one for July. July's cancelled ones still showing in appl.and the new one, isn't. Fortunately the new one is on my personalizer. So I thought , well just add the information on the web based.It is more screwed up than the Medallion Appl. Since the very beginning the Appl. has showed us as Blue members even though Elite. When we have ordered medallions, the order process always shows us as black medallion , they come to us correct so no big deal. I had tried to correct this and after several phone calls did give up. Well today , using the web based, got into my new booking, all screwed up, tried to order medallion and it is now being ordered as Blue. I didn't complete the order. Princess needs to get their act together and real quick .
  13. My travel agent handled it for me. She went on the website and selected FCC for us.
  14. also had to cancel for a cruise that we would have gone on tomorrow . Took four days and the FCC was in our account. At first we thought we were shorted because it was only 75% of the fare. Then I checked our credit card and the rest was a credit there for port taxes and rest of what we paid minus not getting back the Insurance .
  15. There may be better ways now to handle some claims. We have the platinum Insurance through Princess (AON). Two weeks ago had to cancel a cruise that we would have gone on this week . Hubby is ill. All I wanted was FCC. My travel agent said she would take care of it for us (I was pretty distraught with Hubby's being sick). She called Princess who said she had to go through AON even though all we want is FCC. On line she was asked to select either cash refund or FCC. She selected FCC. Then she spoke to someone live at AON. They told her for FCC they would refer it back to Princess to apply our FCC. That was done and four days later it was in my account. Day after I cancelled a portion was also a credit on my credit card. So now cancel for any reason seems to be an easier process.And I am so thankful I have a travel agent that knew how to handle things smoothly for me.Probably could have asked for a refund but would probably be waiting forever for the money and I couldn't deal with paperwork right now.
  16. The four ladies in Sabatinis are incredible. We ate there one evening but also were lucky to be able to do the breakfasts every day (Suite benefit). They were the best wait staff. (we were on the 20 day cruise before yours).Food was pretty incredible as well.
  17. On a few occasions (and very recently two weeks ago) we had to use Cancel for Any reason on the Princess insurance. So easy. Just wanted FCC instead of being refunded. Husband ill right now and was advised not to cruise (would have been this week). So easy. Our Travel consultant went on line and cancelled, told Insurance we only wanted FCC. Aon said didn't even need to open a claim. AON notified Princess to just give us the FCC(we have the Platinum policy). FCC was in our account in four days and Princess credited our credit card for port taxes and other fees. Another time we had a house flood right before a cruise, same efficient handling.So I am a big fan of Princess insurance. The medical part is fine too. Our Medical at home does reimburse outside the country so all works out.
  18. I do extra tip room service . Not necessary I know but I appreciate the delivery.I bring lots of $1's with us. Just give $2.00 for our breakfast .
  19. When our bid was accepted for a full suite, immediately even before we paid the new cabin number was showing in my personalizer. We accepted the bid . However,later I had my travel agent check to see if I could get another location, she was able to switch cabins for us.
  20. We were on the same voyage. The thermostat for the A/C in our cabin didn't work. No matter which way you turned it (hot, cold), it just blew freezing air. When the repair guy came, he said there were no replacement thermostats on board and they would get them when the ship went back to San Diego. So ours was just manually set to a cool that couldn't be adjusted. We were in a suite and the problem was in the living room area. over the bed, the thermostat controlling that worked. The ship in general was pretty cold. So I feel for the Poster once he got sick, had a very chilly cabin too. My husband came home with pneumonia from a cruise several months ago. He was sicker than he had ever been in his life. Took 3 weeks to recover and another 3 weeks to get some strength back. Hope TravelDan you start feeling better.Good to hear that Medical on board was good experience.Glad you weren't off loaded in one of the ports. We saw that happen . Please come back and let us know how long it takes to get all the Medical information from Princess.
  21. We were also on the same cruise as you and had a aft facing suite on Caribe (starboard side). Never had hot water issue. Our next door neighbor had flushing issue. Guess we were extremely lucky. Loved the cruise and the very empty ship.We are so spoiled with the suite life and the aft facing experience. Will be hard to go back to a balcony cabin or even a mini suite.The crew was amazing , great service.
  22. I have never gotten a confirmation email that it has been received.We fax ours. We check in our personalizer and it will appear there under credits. Lately it appears within a couple of days.
  23. MY appl. shows us a blue (we are Elite). After several calls and 6 more cruises taken, still shows me as Blue member.However, when my Medallions come, they are in the right black color.On website it is correct. I can't purchase internet at a discount on the Appl. Most of the time we do Princess plus so not a problem.
  24. My other bookings are fine too. I had booked a couple of cruises with my travel agent a few days before and they are working.I thought at first it was something that the Future Cruise Person did wrong. My travel agent said the booking is fine and shows up in Polar. Glad they have almost two years to figure out this glitch.
