Did it on the app on a recent cruise. It was easy and appeared within a day as an email and on my account on Princess

I don't like this new appl. How do we add friends as traveling companions for our dinner reservations now. Don't see it on the new appl.

For over a year the Medallion appl. showed me as Blue (I have been elite for years). Never could get it fixed but our medallions always came correct (elite) Now on the new appl, shows me Platinum and who knows what will happen when I order medallions. My daughter who will be sailing with me is showing Gold .I may have to check because she may be Ruby Website shows me correct as Elite.

Bob since you mentioned tips I will ask you. The last cruise we were on we had a full suite.Rarely do we cruise in full suites. We enjoyed Sabatinis every morning for breakfast. The staff working were incredible ladies all from the Ukraine. The last day before the cruise ended and final breakfast at Sabatinis, we tipped all of the ladies the same amount , no matter what their duties were. They all seemed surprised that we tipped them ( and we were generous). What really shocked me was that morning the restaurant was pretty empty. The regulars that we saw every morning never showed up. For the incredible service and this being Suite guests, I was surprised.I know extra tipping is optional but these ladies really made our cruise. Enjoyed the wonderful start of the day with them. We were made to feel special. It was a 19 day cruise. Bob what is done usually regarding tipping here. I know you mostly enjoy the Suite Life.

Bob, thanks for taking all of us along with you on your journey. We were suppose to cruise to Hawaii in July and had to cancel due to my hubby's illness. Second time we cancelled. First time was I had Covid. Nice seeing so many familiar names posting on your journey. Enjoy the rest of your trip, stay well. See you hopefully on the Sun Princess next year. Gloria (and Lew)

Response from Princess to email re changes
san diego sue replied to rosevew's topic in Princess Cruises
we always tip room service deliveries and probably still will do it. Wondering how people will feel if we are charged $5 for each delivery. Sometimes we book a suite. I think we should not be charged for room service while in a suite. Benefits for being in a suite are less and less now.We are already paying a higher daily gratuity too. -
big time not being able to log in.

Can't log into the personalizer on the website any more for my husband, doesn't recognize his password. For me, sometimes I can log in, today also says password incorrect. I have given up. Will just do it through booking number. However if I want to see anything else, history, Future Cruise credits etc, can't do it right now.

Onboard experience without Medallion app
san diego sue replied to luv2kroooz's topic in Princess Cruises
You can also order food, drinks etc. using the TV in your cabin rather than the phone. We order room service from the TV all the time. -
Los Angeles Parking for Princess Cruises
san diego sue replied to mcrcruiser's topic in Princess Cruises
I have never paid for parking at Doubletree, is that something new? -
we either go back before the tours come back or sit at Pioneer Inn outside restaurant and have those beers. We have been on the last tender many times.

How is the bidding system doing? Any comments?
san diego sue replied to Bwana Tom's topic in Princess Cruises
We had done a bid from a mini suite to a full suite(Vista suite).(last Fall) I didn't like the location as a first choice. Website showed no suites available. My travel agent was able to see there was actually a Vista Suite on a higher deck and she was able to change it for us. -
I got the same exact message about not being able to make reservations and they are making updates to existing reservations. I just checked.

Is a Medallion wearable safe to use if I have a pacemaker?
san diego sue replied to John99's topic in Princess Cruises
My husband is getting aortic valve replaced in a couple of weeks. Apparently 10% of people getting this procedure these days will need a pacemaker afterwards. My husband was told his chances are 30% that he will need pacemaker. His procedure for the valve is TAVR( will be going through groin). -

Thanks for the information. I have no idea what kind of device my husband will be getting . Sound like your wife has the state of the arts . Hope that is what he gets. -
Is a Medallion wearable safe to use if I have a pacemaker?
san diego sue replied to John99's topic in Princess Cruises
I was just going to ask the same question about pacemakers and safety with medallion magnet. I thought maybe I will get my husband a wrist band or ask for a card for him.He is having heart surgery and was told looks like his chances of needing a pacemaker after is 30%. Also how about the scanners we walk through getting on the ship and the ports? -
I did say I was in a full suite. I really didn't care about not getting all the other stuff we use to get. I bring my own shampoo, conditioner, and bath soap anyway.
-
got none of the items (except bathrobes). We were in a full suite Nov-Dec 2022.We didn't even get the blue bag or Elite setups. We got bedroom slippers. The shampoos, soaps etc were in the refillable containers.Diamond Princess. Did get a bowl of fruit but it was the usual one that suites get.

If you don't book a tour that takes you out of town, the town itself is nothing. Really not a tourist area but a place where people live and shop. We have explored the whole town as we have been there at least 5 times. Was there in December and wished we didn't get off the ship. The dock is a huge walk to the exit out. Very hot and humid day and Lew got sick in town. Cab will only take you to the entrance to the dock and it was such a long walk to the ship with no transportation to pick any one up. I had to have someone get a wheelchair for Lew when we finally got to the ship. There are some nice tours to towns but bus rides are long. Next time we won't get off the ship.

sounds like if one has covid and are isolated it was better not to have the insurance at all.Looks like from reading this , those people got paid right away from Princess direct. I always have Aon. We get it because we worry about having to cancel before a cruise.Had to do this twice and was greatful we had the insurance. Both times easy, just asked for FCC and got it. No big waiting. Also reading all this, it can make people not report they are ill and not be isolated. Then Covid will be spread to the passengers.

When I saw the first luggage photo you posted I thought, wow, Holli is traveling light. Then when I saw this one I realized the first photos were only your luggage. Looks like she will be changing clothes several times a day. Or she packs like I do, in case, in case, in case clothes. When we cruise next, I will have to do all the lifting of suitcases (Lew no longer can), so no in case clothes for me and I already told hubby I can only lift 24 inch suitcases.Have a wonderful cruise. Look forward to following you along on your journey. Also looking forward to seeing you on the new Sun Princess next year.happy cruising to you and Holli. Gloria
