  1. I thought that was a picture of your reuben sandwich at first glance - lol!
  2. Did you have travel insurance? If so, that would cover your cancelled flights. Then you could just bypass Carnival. But as Mike45LC mentioned, I would now send everything - receipts, correspondence you have had, calls you have made - to Carnival - return receipt, registered mail. Though sfaaa just wrote that CCL refused to refund their lost airfare as it wasn't booked through CCL....
  3. I can only tell you about Magic. They played one sea day, and it was very windy. No reservations - just show up. Anyone could play. Yes, it was crazy. No kitchen lines on court. They had (cheap) wooden paddles you could use. Many people showed up never having played before, and the people running it really didn't know what to do/rules. As I was a single (I had brought my own paddle) I was paired up with a guy who was wearing flip-flops and had never played. Instead, I offered to help organize the games, ref, etc., but was turned down. It then started drizzling, and court was very slippery. They continued to organize it, and at that point I left, as I saw potential for someone slipping and getting hurt. Hopefully someone will chime in on Jubilee- maybe they have a "dedicated" court. On Magic it was set up on basketball court.
  4. Ribeye has been great whenever we eat there.
  5. Thought it was a fanny pack when I got it 2 weeks ago, but was told it is a toiletry bag. I don't even bother taking the pins anymore.
  6. American and Jetblue used to be code-share partners so maybe they still have a bit of love for each other! Hopefully the rest of Soremekun's cruise will be stress free.
  7. I heard about that, and that it was very hard to get an appointment at one of those pp agencies. I just wanted my pp by April-ish, so I didn't need to do that. My nephew did not realize his pp had expired- was leaving for Cancun the next day, and had to fly to Vermont as a "walk-in" to get his - lol.
  8. The day after I got back from my Magic cruise I sent our passports out (expedited) from our local post office, as I may want to squeeze in a cruise (possibly in April) before we are welcome our first grandchild in the beginning of June. Sent them off February 6th, and just got them back this morning! (2/17) That is less than a 2 week turn-around! Well done U.S. Dept. of State!
  9. Looking forward to your review. Love the Spirit-class ships. So easy to navigate, and never seem crowded. I didn't mind Bimini - we did go to the beach near the port. Must have hit it on a "good" day - no smell or anything else that would gross us out.
  10. They had the bowls of cookies at lunch and dinner on Magic 2 weeks ago!
  11. That's one heck of a mix-up.
  12. Sorry to hear you lost your cruise. Did you check in online without any problem? If so, what made CCL remove him at the last minute? Was it homeland security that removed him? And who contacted you - security or Carnival? You can put in a claim with travel insurance for the cancellation/bus if you have it, along with any other money lost. Is Carnival offering you anything (obc, future cruise credit) for "their" mistake? Hopefully the answer is yes.
  13. Biggest for me being Dream class- and even that is almost too large. Sailed on Horizon - too big, though our Havana aft wrap made it okay. Really like Conquest class. Splendor and Spirit class are good for me, also. I will no doubt try Venezia at some point, as NY is my homeport. Sometimes bigger is not better - lol!
  14. Another ship too large for my taste. Will stick to the “smaller”ships.
  15. 6232 is also a bowling-ball balcony. No noise issues.
  16. I totally agree. Best balconies by far!
  17. Yes - we did it on our just completed Magic cruise. I would bring up both cards for dd and myself. No problem.
  18. This notification is in funtimes at every port. This one was from Nassau in January. While I am sure the women felt "safe" going to this resort, as CCL also had an excursion there - I do not know if Carnival has any responsibility in the terrible event that happened.
  19. In one article I read the women claimed they were on a "Carnival shuttle." I am sure - if this is in fact true- that opens Carnival up to some kind of responsibility. I have never seen "outsiders" allowed on any kind of Carnival transportation. I just hope the truth comes out - one way or another.
  20. I have to agree with you. The Lido mid-ship pool had hardly any kids, while the aft pool was filled. Maybe the aft water was warmer. (and I don't want to guess why!) The hot tubs (which I personally never use) were wall-to-wall kids. I was also surprised at how many kids were in the aft pool in the evening (after dark) - with no parents watching them!
  21. On our recently completed Magic cruise (debarked Sunday) before we boarded we had to go to a wall, put our backs against it, place our carry-ons/pocketbooks on the floor about a foot in front of us, and a drug dog went down the line of bags sniffing each one. I actually thought it was pretty cool.
  22. Thank you for posting. Maybe ship wasn't tied up tight enough?
  23. Or maybe make the aft area adults only until a certain time. Then open it to anyone.
  24. Totally agree. I know there is Serenity on the ships but no pool there.
