  1. Lois, I am also a fan of Blue Bloods. I read this will be a short season for the show. I'm going to miss seeing the program. I also like Law & Order and Law Order SVU. I'm going to give Matlock a try.
  2. Melody, Good to hear Les is doing well. He has gone through a lot. Next cruise is in January and one in February.
  3. Have you gone to a doctor that specializes in hair loss? There are many treatments available such as supplements, Minoxidil, laser combs and caps. You need to find out what the cause is.
  4. Kat, The descriptions of all the foods was making me hungry just reading about it. Great pictures. There is an Eataly in Boston so I know they have awesome food.
  5. Melody, Very pretty outfit. I"m glad you took a photo of the jeans separately so the embroidery and embellishments show up. I don't think the top is too short. I prefer them that way.
  6. I have 2 cruises booked - Beyond in November and Ascent in December, both ov cabins. They were not double the price.
  7. Which Days Inn did you book? Is it Days Inn by Wyndham? If so, the area is not the greatest. It is not a place you would want to walk around.
  8. A few causes could be eating fatty/greasy foods, consuming more alcohol than usual or eating late at night. Elevating your head when you sleep may be helpful.
  9. This isn't for customs. It has to do with immigration. You show your passport to the inspector and have your picture taken. Everyone regardless of residence needs to go through this. Customs is bringing items into a country.
  10. I was on this cruise last week. The immigration inspection took hours. My group number was 29 and scheduled for 2:15. I went early and the crew member at the entrance where you go in to see the inspectors asked if it was just me (I travel solo) and she let me go through early. I didn't get off the ship until 3. The ship is in Portland until later in the evening. If you had an excursion, you departed early and then upon your return, you went to the immigration inspection.
  11. Hi Ladies, I came back from a Canada/NE cruise yesterday. Overall, the cruise was nice, good weather and for me, some new things to see. Halifax was cloudy and rain in the afternoon. Sydney, NS, Charlottetown, PEI and Portland, ME were very warm and sunny, Temps were in the mid-upper 80s. I don't usually sail Princess so some things were different than I'm used to. Princess uses a Medallion that has all your info on it similar to a sea pass card. Most cruisers get their Medallion when boarding the ship. It is about the size of a quarter and on a lanyard. It is very lightweight. Some passengers ordered a wrist strap with the Medallion in the center. Here are my thoughts on the good and not so good things. Good - Easiest and fastest check in ever. One strange thing boarding the ship, you went down the gangway instead of up. Good live music and party band in the Piazza. Automatic lights when entering the cabin and also a sensor on the bottom of the night stands so when you are close, the lights go on. No harsh light in the middle of the night. Cabin was in its own space with a separate large dressing area and closet. Good food in MDR and buffet. Buffet had 3 separate areas, all with food and seating so there was never a wait for a seat. Not so good - Tiny shower and small bathroom. I am not a large person and I had trouble turning around in the shower. I would rather have had less room in the dressing area/closet and more in the bathroom. Small elevators and at times long waits. I didn't care for some of the entertainment in the theater. Small theater and at some of the shows, people were sitting on the stairs. My only comparisons are Celebrity and Royal Caribbean.
  12. I'm going on the Emerald Princess. I chose this cruise for a couple of reasons. Most of the Canada/NE cruises begin at the end of August for the foliage fans. I was looking for something during the summer. I also wanted round trip Boston .The only two I found were Princess and Holland America. So when I saw a round trip itinerary, I booked Princess. My go-to lines are Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. Princess has something called a medallion instead of a sea pass card. You wear it on your wrist or you can wear it around your neck. That'll be different.
  13. Tomorrow I leave for Cape Cod until Saturday. Then Sunday I board the ship in Boston for a Canada/NE cruise. This is one of my favorite itineraries so I'm looking forward to seeing a few new ports.
  14. That looks like a big bowl of shaved ice. Maybe it's the photo?? I agree if you are used to cruising, you just go eat. Everything is paid for. But on land vacations, your meals are on your own. You don't realize how things add up. I look at it as you either pay on the front end or back end.
  15. Lois, It looks like you're having a grand time and are really enjoying yourself.
  16. Melody, Your pictures are wonderful, so photogenic. You look beautiful in the red outfit.
  17. Someone asked how far a walk is the Maritime Museum and I don't think this was answered. I am interested in going there and want to know how far it is from the pier.
  18. Sherri, Is there someone looking after your dad's finances now? Sorry to hear your dad was taken advantage of. Next month, I have back to back trips. I'll be in Cape Cod for a week and the following week, I'm going on a Canada/NE cruise. No more trips until December.
  19. It's been10 years since going on my last Princess cruise. I booked a cruise Tuesday and the app is a lot different than the 2 cruise lines I usually sail on. I chose the dining room(s) and time for each day. Is there someplace that shows your daily planner such as excursions, dining? I can't seem to find this. I also chose private. I believe this is a table for 2. Is this request usually accommodated?
