@Victoria2 That page makes me crazy. I want to sort by date or by cruise number. Instead I have to click on each speaker just to find out they are not on my cruise. They could also have a link to the proper speaker from within “Manage my cruise.” Public speakers are used to having the date and place they are speaking publicly posted. Speaking on a cruise is no different from speaking at a conference, except the food is better.
I don’t think threads are locked because there are mixed opinions, as you say @BklynBoy8 different opinions are useful for making decisions. But, the discourse must remain civil.
On QM2 Commodore club all the way. We didn’t make to afternoon tea because we camped out at the bar with a crossword puzzle book and the list of cocktails. Each puzzle has listed the cocktail enjoyed with it, and the date of course. Great fun!
I am so jealous of you who can play this game. I haven’t traveled enough to be able to identify your pictures, but I love your game and learn from it. Thank you! (P.S. I DO love the straits of Messina - all of the speed boats with the guys in very tiny swim trunks trying to keep up…and the beautiful fishing boats) Someday I hope I get to post a picture of a Cunard ship in Seattle!
@fourmile.ranch Thank you for doing this research! The picture below shows the only Cunard bear available on the December TA. It does not have a specific name. It looks different from what you are seeing. I hope you score one for your collection, and I hope they are still available for our cruise in June.
@bluemarble Have you been reading @safarigal ‘s blog? She was seated next to Stephen Payne for dinner on her last, or current cruise. If he was a listed speaker we would for sure book the cruise.
I received one from Oceania yesterday and there are already a dozen highlighter notes sticking out on pages. It was great fun. I hope I receive one from Cunard.
There are cruises I would choose to join based upon the speaker. Specifically artists or historians. I agree with @FritzG there are authors I would want to hear. It definitely allows me to plan ahead of time and adds to the excitement of the cruise.
@BklynBoy8 I have no patience for opening every one of the speakers on that site to find out if they will be on our cruise. There are quilts to be quilted and grandsons to teach to ride bikes.
It didn’t take long for another email to appear with two names of speakers for the M318 cruise, however they are not definite. I’ll post them on the roll call with an *. @BklynBoy8
I received an email from Cunard with a link to the website where all of the speakers are listed. I am very disappointed in the lack of service and sent a reply message saying so. They must have a list of speakers by cruise and it shouldn’t have been too difficult to supply the information. I’m sorry I came up empty handed for M318 @BklynBoy8.
@safarigal Loving the blog. I so hope Stephen Payne will be a guest speaker on one of cruises. I agree with you that I wouldn’t know what to say. I like your idea about the shower curtains!
