  1. @jam19872016 Start drinking water immediately. You’ll drop several pounds quickly. It usually takes me a week to drop the weight I gain from a cruise. Too many cocktails in the Commodore Club and a full breakfast every morning. Have a good day back at work. Think of all of the great stories you’ll share! You really should think about writing a comical book about your adventures. Good Night from Seattle.

  2. This is a super tiny picture because I didn’t want to show myself…remember making chains as a child? I took our Christmas Covid masks, which I had made, and cut them into strips, then made a chain out of them with grandson #1. It traveled with us, easily packed, and was hung around the mirror in the entry.

  3. Sunday breakfast: Homemade Bloody Mary, homemade biscuits, home made pork breakfast sausage and my famous Omelette with Gruyère cheese. @jam19872016 please note that there is no sign of browning on the omelette and @Von & John putting salt into the eggs while whisking 99 times means they will fluff greater when they hit the hot butter! (I prefer white pepper in my eggs) I love eggs, I will eat them anywhere…

  4. @bluemarble I don’t like that I’m limited to one comment response to your post. It deserves the trophy because it’s so amazing, it deserves the heart of course, but I also just broke out in a smile, because of course you would do the comparison. Thanks for all you do for us. - S in Seattle

  5. Dear Cunard,

We, the frequent posters on the Cruise Critic Cunard Forum, would like to recommend @chengkp75 as a presenter on all of the 4 Queen’s. His/Her knowledge of ships is extensive and would add greatly to any cruise where building, design, construction, or maintenance of ships was a focus. I’m sure many of us who read his/her posts would book a cruise to meet and listen to his/her presentations.

    Sincerely,

  6. We bought our son a suit many years ago and on the first night wearing it the pant hem came out. (Very poorly constructed obviously) Not having time to properly sew it I grabbed the painters tape, which lasted through dinner. Being a quilter I always have needle, thread, and a small scissors with me and was able to repair it before dinner the next night. But, the painters tape is a permanent part of my travel kit.

  7. It has come in handy several times. I can post a note on the window, “out here.” I’ve used them to hold up a hem in a pair of pants. I’ve used them on a piece of tapestry so the thread doesn’t catch during sewing. Wrap a piece around cords, in one case to hold up Christmas decorations in our cabin. We were in a cabin in September where the magnets didn’t work, not on Cunard, and I was glad I had my tape.

  8. @jam19872016 I have had a blast following you on your journey and interacting with all of those posting. (I am getting a ribbing from my DH regarding the number of hours spent with coffee in my chair in the morning). I hope you will post something on the Cunard forum the next time you’re on board one of the Queens, even if it links back to another line. I bet if you started a Go Fund Me page many of us would contribute to buying, or renting, a tux for your next Cunard voyage because we really do want you to experience the special gala evenings. Hugs from Seattle.

I am on the same cruise and I was very happy with the performance of my iPhone 15 Pro Max in Tromso. It is all I am taking on tonight’s hunt from Narvik.

I would suggest taking boots. I have been wearing boots and two pairs of thick socks in all the ports so far. The footpaths in Tromso were very icy in places and even in boots I managed to slip in relatively spectacular fashion (no injuries luckily).

  10. Dinner. Shakespeare “Get thee to a nunnery go!” - @jam19872016 Get thee to Cunard, Go! Eat real food. A TA is a wonderful thing to experience and much cheaper than 56 days around South America. But, rent a tux dude and let your mom strut her stuff in something beautiful! Stand in the atrium, level 2, and have a picture of the two of you taken to remember it for many years to come. Bless you for all of your wonderful posts.
