  1. Knew I shouldn’t have taken the captain drinking last night. He is having trouble keeping a straight line. And what is up with that Carnival ship jumping our wake?
  2. When we were at Coco Cay yesterday, there were tons of jellyfish in the water by the OW Cabanas. One little girl was catching them, and moving them away from their cabana. I am sure there are probably several environmental regulations she was violating, in doing this relocation.
  3. It wasn’t crowded at all at the Beach Club. Although it said it was sold out, there were lots of open loungers, and only 3 or 4 of the OW Cabanas were in use. I guess they would rather see them empty than to charge a reasonable price for them. When we left that area, it did seem more crowded, but not too bad.
  4. Not a very nice sunrise this morning, but seas are calm. Sea day today. They really should add a slide or something to get down to boardwalk quicker. 🤣🤣
  5. Probably one and done for us now. Before the holidays, Beach Club for our August cruise was going for over $200 pp which I said would be too high. Just looked yesterday, and it is over $300 pp for that August cruise. It was nice for us yesterday.
  6. Breakfast in the Allure Crown Lounge this morning. I just wish they would clean these windows. Still one of the nicest lounges remaining in the fleet. Was able to get a latte here at 5 am, but then the grounds needed emptied, and couldn’t get a second.
  7. Another mooring line perspective from yesterday. Today, we are in Coco Cay. We have Coco Beach Club reserved. I forgot about the old tech on Allure. Don’t know how many times I tapped my sea pass on the door, before I remembered it had to go in the slot to unlock the door.
  8. We did National Express from Heathrow to Southampton. From Southampton to London, we used International Friends. Tours of Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge, and Windsor Castle were included, and they dropped us at our hotel.
  9. First drink onboard, a Dublin Ice Tea. and guess what the bartender’s name is? Daryl. Guess I may need to hang out with this Daryl, since Daryl the llama went home with the kids. He was in need of some repairs.
  10. @Lionesss Sue, remind me again which is the lucky machine in the casino on Allure. We were just deciding where to go to loose money tonight, and thought we could try a win for a change. Nice day at the port
  11. As of now, since the hotel is so new, they do not have a shuttle to the pier. On a nice, sunny day like this, we could easily walk to terminal 1, but it might be more than some would want. The hotel said they may be getting a shuttle at some point, but now they just recommend private companies. I did see Ubers pulling in. It is across the street if sailing Carnival here, but not for Royal. We did that stay at the Holiday Inn in Southampton, and just walked to the ship with our luggage. It was convenient.
  12. We are sailing from Port Canaveral. Evidently, terminal 3 is used by Carnival. We are at the new Holiday Inn Express. People were just walking across the street. The rooms are nice and new, and huge Sorry for the mess, but this is when we are getting ready to check out. I guess we could walk to terminal 1, because it isn’t that far, but we drove here so we will park at the port. Checking options to get seven of us from here to there in August.
  13. And I forgot to post how big the containers of ashes were that they send up. They vary from the size of a watch battery to the size of a lipstick container.
  14. I don’t know if I will be awake to see the Vulcan Centaur rocket launch on Monday. It is supposed to be at 2:18 am. Allure should be 80-90 miles south of the launch site at that time. Although most of the hype has been regarding the inaugural flight of the Peregrine Lunar Lander for Astrobiotic of Pittsburgh, it also has other important cargo. In true @Ozark_Kid fashion, it appears people are dying to go to outer space. For those Star Trek fans, the ashes of Gene Roddenberry, Majel Barrett, Deforest Kelley, James Dothan, and Nichelle Nichols will also be aboard. The remains and DNA of 338 people are part of the payload, destined for the moon or outer space. You too can be aboard a future flight, according to Celestis’ website. https://pages.celestis.com/memorial/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12069047671&utm_content=113071528741&utm_term=celestis&device=m&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD_rqy1h0Rmsuqj1Hv79GyOBmtanr&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqsDE7ZrGgwMV4wytBh3oTQqQEAAYASAAEgKPM_D_BwE I believe all of the Star Trek actors are on the Voyager mission to deep space.
  15. That is a problem with the short cruises. You have to pick and choose the things you want to see. Already, people complaining about shows sold out. Will be interesting to see how long the standby lines are. Too bad our cruise is leaving from Terminal 1 instead of 3. The view from our hotel window. Now that is close.
  16. I will probably post a few pictures here. Don’t plan on doing a Live for this short cruise. I did a couple Live reports on Allure already. It will be interesting how these Oasis class ships handle short cruises.
  17. It is sailing out of Port Canaveral now. Or, I hope it is, because we board her tomorrow morning. Yes, moving on to part 3 or 4 of our winter vacation. Normally wouldn’t consider such a short cruise, but since we were here, thought we would remedy this. D+ after this one. Would have been there last year, but….. Staying at the new Holiday inn Express at Port Canaveral tonight. This is a nice hotel, so I ended up booking it for our August cruise and canceling our other hotel. It is a little cool here. Dinner tonight was at Fishlips. Tropical heat wave Spinach artichoke dip, which was not quite what we expected. (Sorry, but a couple bites gone before I took the picture. The shrimp po boy was good. 10:30 am boarding time in the morning.
  18. Speaking of flights….. Our daughter and her family did not have the best end to their vacation. I dropped them off for their direct flight on SW to Pittsburgh last night. So I go to the flight aware website later, to check on their progress home, and the flight had disappeared from the screen. I did some more searching, and found that their flight had been diverted to Nashville. That is not exactly on a direct line between Ft. Lauderdale and Pittsburgh. The official explanation for diverting the flight was that Pittsburgh was experiencing icing, and the engine anti-icing system was not working. Who schedules a plane going to Pittsburgh in January, with a non working system? They did get on another SW plane, but didn’t get home till 2am. So now, grandkids are back to school this morning, probably falling asleep. Daughter had to get up early, and is already in Cleveland for her second cancer vaccine shot. And, Susan and I are tired from being awake most of the night and early this morning, checking to see if they made it everywhere they needed to be.
  19. Good choice. Somehow, our grandkids were hungry after the big crab lunch yesterday, so they went to Air Margaritaville at Ft. Lauderdale airport, before their flight last night.
