  1. Charlie Brown Christmas is one of my favorites. My one grandson drew this a year or two ago, so we framed it and it hangs in our foyer at Christmas time. We have had lots of comments on it, when people see it when they come in our house.
  2. Dani, sorry to see that the truce has ended. It was nice that you had a few days of relief. Our prayers are with you.
  3. My goal is to try to get caught up on this thread today. It has been quite a week!! If it is December, it is time for You know who to show up. That’s right, that pesky elf. I can tell you that it has not been hot enough for lava. I don’t know what substance the elf had to think that!
  4. We are on the December 16 sailing on Symphony. Shows opened for booking on October 25th. I would start looking at 55 days, depending on when you are sailing in February. We are on Allure January 5th, and those shows just opened for booking yesterday.
  5. Can’t tell from your photo, but are the usb charging ports usb-A or usb-c? It seems that all of our devices now use usb-c. We will be bringing our usb charging tower that has 5 c’s and 2 a’s.
  6. Black Friday prices for one of our cruises was $68, and another was $168.
  7. That one is not Eric Clapton's place. This one is his. And this is the caretaker's house. Those are photos I took several years ago. I am not sure if it is still being rented out, but you use to be able to rent his place for 50K a week. A little rich for my blood.
  8. Missed the past few days, because we have been busy with our grandkids. Trying to catch up before they wake up this morning. Hope everyone is doing well.
  9. That is the truth. 25.99 for December cruise, 28.99 for January cruise, and the going rate for the one in August is 31.99. Looks like they will continue to raise it, because people can’t disconnect.
  10. I swear, if we keep saving money with all the deals, we will be broke!😳 I did manage to get the limit of five, $500 dollar Southwest gift cards before they sold out. That should get the seven of us to Florida and back, for our Utopia cruise in August. One good deal that was out there yesterday was one of our gas stations reduced their price to $2.24 a gallon. Too bad only one vehicle needed gas, but it saved $22 on that fill up.
  11. Yesterday would have been my mother’s 95th birthday. She never did like the fact that she had to celebrate on the day that JFK was assassinated. Our newspapers had quite a few stories to mark 60 years since that event. I was in 6th grade, and am old enough to remember where I was when it happened.
  12. Good morning, and Happy Thanksgiving to all of our friends here on Dani’s thread. I hope everyone enjoys their day.
  13. Our SIL was also born on Christmas. He never got to celebrate his birthday separate from Christmas when he was growing up. We always make sure we celebrate it separate with him. Our son’s birthday is on the 15th, so that is another December birthday.
  14. It does work, and as a bonus, we get the Spanish version too. Beautiful shot of the half moon. What camera are you using for that?
  15. We have been busy with Thanksgiving prep, moving furniture around in the family room to turn it into our banquet hall for the day. Table #1 (maybe the adult table) Table #2 ( maybe the kid table) And those are chocolate pilgrim suckers on the plates, from our favorite candy store.
  16. For any of you who are SW Airlines fliers, and also Sam’s Club members, Sam’s has a deal on SW gift cards tomorrow. Limit of five cards. $500 cards for $399.99. I know I will be getting five. That will be my reason to be up at midnight again. Maybe Royal should take note of what a real sale looks like.
  17. So with all this talk of weight loss, it is something that has come remarkably easy for me these past 13 weeks. I may have mentioned that I had put on a few pounds this summer, trying to keep up with my grandson by eating as much as he did. That, plus the fact that I was averaging about 4,000 steps a day less when he was here didn’t help. So I decided to start eating healthy, which meant limiting red meat, having more chicken, fish and vegetables. Only fruit for snacks. Susan found some great low calorie recipes, that were good, and filling. Susan was eating the same things, and she lost a few pounds, but she is already at or below an ideal weight. She has always been thin. I know some say that BMI is next to worthless, but it is still something that is measured by our doctors. At the end of 13 weeks, I am down 31 pounds, and BMI dropped from 28 to 23. The only drawback I can see, is if I were fighting, I am solidly in a lightweight class, and if I were to loose a few more pounds, it would make me a featherweight. I am not sure I want to be considered either a lightweight or a featherweight. 😂 Maybe it is a good thing the holidays and cruises are here. Maybe I will move up a class.
  18. Oh, tell me about acorn season. We have so many species of oak, that they they produce the majority of their crop every three years. Of course, that schedule means some are dropping a bunch every year. This year, I collected about 600 gallon of them. They are for good luck, you know. Our red oaks will hold on to a lot of their leaves until spring. That way, we get to do leaf cleanup in the spring too.
  19. I had to look up that drug, after reading about it here. Yikes, almost 20k a year for it when I put it in the Medicare search for a drug plan.
