  1. That’s right. We drive right by you almost, if you are off 81. We usually make Elkin, NC as our stop for our first day going south. Nice hotel there, nice seafood restaurant, and we make it early enough to hike a trail in Elkin to get our daily exercise.
  2. Tell me that those are not all your empties, Greg. 😳 If they are, I will understand why you can’t reply until Friday. 🤣
  3. So when is the normal snowbird migration south? We are starting our drive on December 13, and should be going through the narrow I-26 portion on the 14th.
  4. It was either last year, or the year before that Waze routed us that way because of the stop and go traffic, with maybe a wreck or two to add to the mix. Maybe we will miss it since we are going down earlier this year.
  5. I did see Greg wander through a couple times. What time were they all going to wave at the webcam?
  6. Yes, I hate that I-26 portion. If traffic is bad, it can really slow things down. I think most of the mountains and curves are north of Beckley, WV.
  7. https://www.soggydollar.com/webcam It does look very nice this morning
  8. My wife has been going to Polaris / Columbus , for years, for her Sister’s weekend. That seems to be a central meeting point for them to get together a couple times a year. They have stayed at the Drury Inn Polaris. Free breakfast, and they have free drinks and snacks for a happy hour each night. Pretty reasonable prices also. In addition to the couple places Bob mentioned, it is close to Easton Town Center, which is a large, outdoor shopping area, if you like those kinds of places. https://eastontowncenter.com/ As far as the drive north, we usually spend three days, but we are usually going about 1200 miles to our destination in Florida. Looks like you would be doing 950-1,000 for two days. Looks like google would route you 95, 26, 77, and then some backroads in Kentucky and Ohio. We have a nice place we stay on 77, but it would be a little far on a two day drive. We have done the drive on 75 that Bob mentioned, and didn’t think it was too bad.
  9. Part of the story is that when you sign up for the lottery to buy them, you have to acknowledge that you will not be reselling them, and that it is illegal to resell.
  10. I guess those are rare, and hard to find in Pennsylvania, so people have to sign up for a lottery for a chance to buy them. Hard liquor is all sold by State Stores in Pennsylvania. You can’t buy them anywhere else.
  11. For all of our whiskey drinkers in Pennsylvania, just saw this, this morning. The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), through its Limited-Release Lottery, will award lottery winners the opportunity to purchase 4,429 bottles of rare whiskeys. Pennsylvania residents and licensees will have until 5 p.m. Friday to opt in to the lottery by visiting the Limited-Release Lottery web page at FWGS.com. This event will feature six products in five lotteries. If a participant wins the right to purchase a bottle in a drawing, they will be removed from subsequent drawings in that lottery. Purchase is limited to one bottle per participant per lottery. Only one entry per household per lottery is allowed; duplicative entries will be disqualified. Lotteries will be held, in the following order, to award the opportunity to purchase individual bottles: Lottery 1 Blanton’s Gold Straight Bourbon, $119.99 each. Blanton’s Straight From the Barrel Bourbon, $149.99 each. Lottery 2 Eagle Rare Straight Bourbon 17-Year-Old 2022 Release, $109.99 each. Lottery 3 Heaven Hill Heritage Collection Straight Corn Whiskey 20-Year-Old 2023 Edition, $289.99 each. Lottery 4 Russell’s Reserve Straight Bourbon 13-Year-Old Barrel Proof, $149.99 each. Lottery 5 Stagg Straight Bourbon Barrel Proof, $54.99 each.
  12. with a long I. Although it is spelled the same, it is all in the pronunciation. I had that problem, when trying to show off my Chinese to my Son’s in-laws. Evidently, I told his mother in law she was a good horse, instead of a good mom. I found out there are four different meanings of ma, depending on the inflection of the “a”. Every one had a good laugh at that. 🤣🤣
  13. It is sad to hear that about MTD now. We are typically traditional dining people. The one time we booked last minute, we had to take MTD. I ended up booking the same MTD time every night, and spoke to them the first night about having the same table and same waiters each night. The waiters got to know us, and we would have new table mates each night.
  14. That is Celebrity Eclipse. Last time we were in Bermuda was early April one year. Weather was nice, but water was cool.
  15. It is May 11th, so it would depart Mother’s Day weekend. It goes to Martha’s Vineyard, then sails to Bermuda for three full days there.
  16. I think someone here was recently on Eclipse. How was it? If I recall, I think that is the same class as Equinox, and I think Eclipse just got the revolution update. I found a really good price for an 8 night Bermuda sailing from Cape Liberty, that includes drinks, WiFi, and still has tips included. Now I just have to convince Susan. She has been wanting to get back to Bermuda. She is just gun shy to book another, since we already have 3 booked, and she remembers what happened the last time we had a bunch booked.
  17. It is still there on mine, and it just updated yesterday. Version 1.47.0. IOS
  18. I saw your letter still refers to it as the Diamond Lounge. Guess that means they probably have not changed the sign yet. It looks like some are not adhering to the smart casual dress recommendation in the letter. Maybe someone should start a thread “Are shorts and tees allowed on the Crown?”😂😂
