  1. I fell behind when there was an earlier conversation about collecting sap for maple syrup. I did that as a kid, but collected only enough to boil down to a couple bottles. One of the trails we walk, there is an elaborate collection system for the sap. They have some signs up where the lines cross the trail. Plus, they have some of the single bucket collection, and a kettle for boiling outside.
  2. Since we had our Easter meal with family last Monday, it was just the two of us today. Our Easter meal was Cesar salad and prime rib. I don’t think I have had prime rib since our last cruise. Nice and red, like we like it. Of course, there was desert, but it will wait till tomorrow.
  3. Happy Easter to all those who celebrate. We are off to the Easter service. It will be packed today. Meanwhile, it looks like the signs were out for the Easter Bunny.
  4. Enjoyed the video, Andrew. Looks like a beautiful day for the flight. Especially liked the song choice for the end of the video.
  5. Yesterday was a day trip to Cleveland. Took our daughter and grandkids along. Started off at. Volcano nachos are always a good start. And, Caribbean egg rolls. Sorry, but one was gone and another half eaten by the time I took the photo. They were pretty tasty. Spent the afternoon at the zoo. That was my first trip to Cleveland’s zoo. It is a fairly good size zoo, and it wasn’t crowded at all. A few photos from there. Monkey otters I am not sure what kind of crocodile this was, but it sure had a narrow snout. sloth a nice size Eagle And, of course, I found a songbook in the gift shop, that I wasn’t allowed to buy.
  6. Great picture to use for your screensaver. Now the question…. Have you uploaded any of these pictures to use for the Nav boot up screen on your Highlander? I have one of our grandkids, that greets us every time we start our Highlander. I like that personalized feature.
  7. Now this just sounds a little crazy. My daughter just sent me this story. https://www.wfmj.com/story/48675114/2000-easter-eggs-to-fall-from-the-sky-in-grove-city-easter-weekend Somehow, I just keep thinking of this episode from WKRP. What could go wrong?
  8. So I just got out of a very long meeting of a government board I serve on. One of the local property owners was there, to provide some input on a project we were reviewing. He has a very nice property, and he actually referred to his “Field of Dreams”, which is a regulation baseball field he built for his kids. I can’t imagine the amount of maintenance you would need to keep the field in this nice of shape. He does have a very nice little estate. That field sure beats the little side yard we turn into a ball field when the grandkids come over.
  9. I think delays are the new normal. Our son and his family had a delay in their flight this afternoon, from San Francisco to Honolulu. At least they are in the air and halfway there now. A nice spring break for them, for the next 8 days.
  10. We have been busy making cookies with the grandkids this morning. They say you should dread all the chocolate chip dough on a cookie sheet Then bake it that way. Then when you cut out lighthouse shapes after baking, they look like lighthouses. 🤣
  11. Susan wanted to go to the outlet mall this afternoon. Had to stop and get fortified before. Long Island King Electric Lemonade. Menu.
  12. Early Easter dinner tonight, since that was the time we could get the family together. It almost looks like a Thanksgiving dinner, because everyone loves turkey. Turkey, mashed potatoes with turkey gravy, baked corn, cheese broccoli, and stuffing. And that just may be an adult beverage in the glass. 😁 Daughter made some colorful eggs. Sorry, but some were gone before I got the picture. What better for dessert than cheesecake? And some needless snacking after with cookies. It is no wonder I was running a little slow in the baseball game after supper. Me and granddaughter vs her dad and grandson, with Susan playing outfield for both teams. Lots of fun, and we won by one run due to an infield error by her dad. I think he threw the game for her. 🤣🤣
  13. Busy cooking this afternoon, because we are planning our large Easter meal tonight. Maybe some food porn later. Out walking early this morning, and it was nice enough to walk in t-shirts. Still a lot of tree damage they are trying to clean up from the storms. Last weekend’s storm brought down another dozen large trees where we walk. Speaking of walking, a woman was murdered last week on a trail along the Allegheny River, where Susan and I have walked several times. Horrible that something like that happens.
  14. I am about 15 pages behind, and I hope to catch up in a couple days. Just remind me again, who I should blame for posting about Kraken Alexanders. They are so good, and I am enjoying one right now. And, as an FYI, they even taste good when served in a wine glass.
  15. Congratulations to your granddaughter. There is a big demand for nurses right now. Our state is talking about giving new nurses, teachers, and police, a 2,500 tax credit for working in the state. I guess they are trying to address shortages.
  16. Have been incredibly busy lately, but did have time to binge watch the new Netflix series “The Night Agent”. Thought it was really good, and I see they have renewed it for a second season.
  17. My mom used one of those, and got around well with it. When she moved to a wheel chair, there was a place locally, that loaned out wheelchairs, as well as other medical devices, at no cost.
  18. We picked up all the supplies (except the chocolates) at Hobby Lobby. The acrylic paint dried really fast, so it didn’t slow them down, waiting to dry. The old spray cans worked well to keep the edges clear while they dried.
