  1. The ones we have, have one way valves that do not have the problem the early ones had with CO2. When you breathe in, the intake valves open to let oxygen in. When you exhale, it pushes to other valves open to get rid of the CO2. We have used ours for over an hour with no problems. We did meet someone on a snorkeling excursion in Curaçao that was using one of the older masks that had the CO2 problems, and he was feeing those effects within 15 minutes of use.
  2. with the one I have, it has a ball that seals off the tube, so it isn’t letting water in. So, in that case, you can stay under as long as you can hold your breath would be a good gauge.
  3. That sounds like a really nice setup. I have an Onkyo 7.1 surround system in my family room. I have heard the Sonos sound bars do a decent job. I guess like everything else, the technology moves fast. Running the wires, and keeping them hidden, was a real challenge for the eight speakers in our family room. I did manage to do it though. I remember we had one of those big oak entertainment cabinets that held the big CRT. Hated to give it up, but the big flatscreen won out. Of course, now I look at how old my Sony flatscreen is, and I think it will soon be time to update it. I imagine lifespan is getting shorter for the newer big screens, just like appliances.
  4. I did still have my boxes they came in, and used them for storage in my attic. Just got rid of them a couple years ago when I cleaned out my attic. Now, about the only thing stored there are different holiday decorations. Of course, organized pack rat that I am, I have all the original manuals filed away in pristine condition. It is interesting that they all came with internal electric diagrams. You can see the relative size of the 5’s, 6’s, and 7’s in the one photo.
  5. The Kenwood is the KR-6400. The BIC’s were the biggest tower speakers they made. They are about 42” tall. I think I paid between $250-$300 each, which was a lot in the 70’s for speakers. I also have a newer pair of BA exterior speakers that are wired from there to our deck. I also have a lower end Kenwood receiver, pioneer deck, and technics turntable, I bought for my mom and dad, sitting in my basement. I may need to take them to the antique store.
  6. We were just driving by @Lionesss house today. I will take this weather any day this winter. Only a couple days of a frozen mix in the next 10. I have yet to snowblow this winter. And I hope I don’t have to.
  7. I am still gun shy after our mini flood from the dishwasher last August. Never turn it on and just leave anymore. At least I am down to checking on it only once or twice during a cycle.
  8. We enjoyed the movie, but we like most of those with Tom Hanks in them. Not his best, but it had some entertaining parts. Since it did have some scenes with suicide attempts, I would not recommend it to anyone sensitive to that.
  9. Last night, we went to see the new Tom Hank’s movie, A Man Called Otto, on the big screen. It has been a while since we have been to the theatre, and those ticket prices are up like everything else. Even at senior prices, it was $25 for tickets, popcorn and pop. I saw the prices for non-seniors, and those would run $40. There were maybe 30 people in the theater for the movie. It isn’t any wonder that some theatres are closing. Hard to pay employees, building costs and rental fees when not many are going anymore.
  10. When we are traveling, it is always with Amazon music streaming and Waze for navigation. Never use the navigation screen in the vehicle, although it shows on one of the windows on the screen. I know that the maps are out of date on the Nav system, because one new toll road south of Pittsburgh isn't even on it. It looked like we were driving through fields.
  11. I still have all my “old school” components from the 70’s. Kenwood receiver, Dual turntable, and Pioneer deck. I had a cabinet maker build a custom oak cabinet I designed for the equipment, with mesh on the top doors for ventilation, and enclosed storage below for vinyl. Of course, it does store some other essentials too. It is still going to those monstrous BIC Formula 7 speakers as the main ones
  12. At our store, they are $5.99 a dozen, or $3.99 for a half dozen. I pointed out the price to my wife, and she said she never looks at prices. I think I may have solved a problem. Well, maybe not solved as much as discovered the source. 🤣🤣
  13. Does your DH ever give out his secrets for his interpretations? I have a friend from Jamaica, and her dad was making a batch of his special rum punch. I asked her if he would be willing to share his recipe, and she said he wasn’t even ready to share it with her yet. Some people like to keep their secrets close.
  14. And now for a game of Where’s Ricky? I think he needs more stuffed animals to hide in. This is only about 1/10th of what the grandkids have.
  15. I think I keep motivated by doing Fitbit challenges with friends online. We have had the same group of 10, keeping each other motivated for the last 7 years. No quitters there, although today is National Quitters Day (the day everyone gives up on their New Year Resolutions. I have been averaging that, most every day this week since we have a fierce competition going on. As for biological age, there are some calculators on line, and there are several factors they use to determine e it. I do see that, and prices are up there. I wouldn’t mind having the Camaro SS 396. My sister’s boyfriend had a new one in 69, and I remember a few times behind the wheel of that one. That is the first car I ever topped 100 mph in. It is a miracle we survived our youth.
  16. I saw this ad from 1969 the other day, and I thought there were at least a half dozen I would take at that price.
  17. Now you are making me feel old. Everyone ages at different rates, so as they say, age is just a number. I prefer to look at my biological age, instead of my chronological age, because it says I am really 10 years younger. I haven’t given up on any of those house maintenance chores yet. I am a big proponent of trying to stay active and healthy. It helps when you have a group supporting and encouraging your activity levels and completing every day. That is one reason I love my activity tracker. My day yesterday. I have been doing this every day for 7 years, and it does make you feel younger.
  18. We got our Christmas decorations put away last weekend. Well, almost all. We had bought a pencil tree to put in our family room this Christmas, because our main tree was in the living room. Susan really liked that pencil tree and didn’t want to take it down. So this showed up yesterday. Now, it is a Valentine’s Tree, decorated with hearts. I can see this staying up for other holidays. Just ignore the snow on the branches.
