  1. l would make sure you had it tethered to you, so you don’t drop it in the water. I filmed with an iPhone, in a waterproof case, with a lanyard around my neck. It surprised me how slow it seems, until you hit the springs at the bottom.
  2. Ok, you got me following along. We were supposed to do this same itinerary on Harmony next month, but that was one of the five we had to cancel, and you know why. So with a tear in my eye, I will be helping our technology challenged friends check into that cruise, tomorrow night. (I know, they are late and will probably get a boarding time just before sail away) We were looking into renting a 4x4 in Aruba, instead of doing Eagle Beach again, because there is more to explore there. Have a great cruise, and get some good flow rider time in.
  3. Do they have their soot problem fixed. When we were on last year, this area of the track and loungers, as well as us, got coated with black speckles. It looks pretty clean in your photo.
  4. @HBE4, I was so sorry to read this. May your wife rest in peace. This thread has so many kind and caring posters, and I am so glad that Dani started it and we can all come here and share parts of our lives. Susan and I send our condolences.
  5. It was definitely some pretty awesome driving skill. I can imagine the amount of practice that needs to go into some of those “near misses” I remember taking my kids to the mall parking lot, on early Sunday mornings in the winter. It was the best place for them to learn how those big, rear drive, cars handled in snow and ice. Not that I encouraged doing donuts, but that seemed like a natural progression, after they learned how to put cars into and pull them out of skids.
  6. I want to know how they got so many Ft. Lauderdale streets, and other Florida highways clear of traffic to do this? I recognize a lot of those areas
  7. So this was the best $9 spent, ever. Granddaughter wanted Christmas lights for her doll house, so I picked up a led light strip and put it on for her. She was so excited, especially since it had options to pulsate and change color with music. She had to show everyone how it worked. IMG_6332.mp4 I was surprised that it took all 16 feet to outline the perimeter of the doll house. Oh, and here is the completed gingerbread house. It took a little longer, because of this help.
  8. I saw signs of the snowbird migration in Pennsylvania this morning. I think they are a long way from home. Last night, my grandson finished up the Lego gingerbread house, and he was starting this one. It was finished when we got here this morning. Note - This is just a rocket. It isn’t a lighthouse, or a lighthouse cookie, or any other imagined thing. 😁
  9. It never ceases to amaze me, how quickly those winter tans fade.
  10. we have had some sailings that left right after the New Year cruises, and the trees were up for a day or two. It was surprising how fast they disappeared, though.
  11. I gave up on those beef on weck sandwiches long ago, after getting so many bad ones.
  12. Speaking of Celebrity, I got my annual email from them with a code for a free photo book using Mixbook. That is nice that they do that. I have used them to create books for some of our sailings. I used this one to put together a book of our summer with our California grandson. Just finished it today, and they will ship it to him. I think it turned out really nice.
  13. Granddaughter has recovered, and she was off for a weekend of ice skating. Daughter still has a long road ahead of her. I will be driving her to her weekly treatment tomorrow. I have been a little behind, because I slept most of Saturday. Susan woke me up around 1 a.m. Friday night/Saturday morning, because she was having symptoms of a heart attack. So off we went to spend the night at the ER. Lots of tests….heart monitor, x-rays, blood work, etc. Thankfully it was not a heart attack, but likely related to stress. Anyhow, we both slept a lot once we finally got home. The ER staff took care of her right away, even though there were way more people than I thought should be there in the middle of the night.
  14. I would take your 24°C day over our 26°F day this morning, with a feels like 16°F. Our heater got it up to 50° in the gazebo, which made it nice for a soak in the hot tub.
  15. Have you ever done Le Petit Chef before? We enjoyed it the one time we did it. It was a very interesting presentation, but it was probably a one and done for us.
  16. But I say if it gets near the end of the year, do it and get that tax deduction. But, then again, that would be close to 42 weeks.
  17. I tend to agree with that. There was a gentleman that people were trying to contact on CC earlier this year, but he hadn’t posted in about 5 or 6 years, and emails were not answered. Who knows what happened to him. He was a model ship builder, and he kept a thread going for about 5 years, as he detailed his building of a remote control, Voyager of the Seas. His workmanship and attention to detail was stunning. I think a couple on here followed his work back then. If you have never seen that thread, it is still a fascinating one to still read.
  18. Sometimes, things may not translate well. Evidently, I have called my daughter-in-law’s mother both a newspaper and a horse. At least they thought it was funny. 😁
