  1. Busy cooking this afternoon, because we are planning our large Easter meal tonight. Maybe some food porn later. Out walking early this morning, and it was nice enough to walk in t-shirts. Still a lot of tree damage they are trying to clean up from the storms. Last weekend’s storm brought down another dozen large trees where we walk. Speaking of walking, a woman was murdered last week on a trail along the Allegheny River, where Susan and I have walked several times. Horrible that something like that happens.
  2. I am about 15 pages behind, and I hope to catch up in a couple days. Just remind me again, who I should blame for posting about Kraken Alexanders. They are so good, and I am enjoying one right now. And, as an FYI, they even taste good when served in a wine glass.
  3. Congratulations to your granddaughter. There is a big demand for nurses right now. Our state is talking about giving new nurses, teachers, and police, a 2,500 tax credit for working in the state. I guess they are trying to address shortages.
  4. Have been incredibly busy lately, but did have time to binge watch the new Netflix series “The Night Agent”. Thought it was really good, and I see they have renewed it for a second season.
  5. My mom used one of those, and got around well with it. When she moved to a wheel chair, there was a place locally, that loaned out wheelchairs, as well as other medical devices, at no cost.
  6. We picked up all the supplies (except the chocolates) at Hobby Lobby. The acrylic paint dried really fast, so it didn’t slow them down, waiting to dry. The old spray cans worked well to keep the edges clear while they dried.
  7. With the number of trees down, I was amazed they all missed hitting several buildings and brand new storage sheds too. They fell all around them, but managed to miss them.
  8. Finally caught up. We picked up our grandkids and took them out to breakfast yesterday. Susan had planned a couple crafts for them to do, when they came back to our house. Painting some clay pots. Some of my old t-shirts worked good to keep paint off of them. The finished products
  9. We have rarely lost power at our house, and on the few occasions we have, it was not longer than 10 minutes. We were lucky we only had a few branches down. It was sad to see that there were at least 50 large pine tress down where we like to walk at the lake. They will have a lot of cleanup to do.
  10. Wow, a lot of posts over the last couple days. Just wanted to say a few things, before I get further behind. @brillohead congratulations on finding your birth father and the great reception you received. One part of the journey complete, and a whole new chapter yet to come. @Sunshine3601 have a great cruise. @dani negreanu I hope your DH’s diagnosis moves from unexplained, to something that will give him relief. Sending prayers your way.
  11. This morning wasn’t too bad, and we got out for a five mile walk between rain showers. Saw these. Yes, there were more than two. IMG_6922.MOV
  12. We have had much the same here. We were out of town, and driving home just after the first storm hit. Lots of trees and branches down. It was like driving an obstacle course to get around them. Next door neighbor lost a big pine tree. Daughter had a big tree down in her yard. Wind picked up their Fisher Price playhouse and moved it about 50 feet. Nothing but some branches down at our house. This is minor stuff, compared to what’s going on in Mississippi.
  13. I hate waiting for appointments, and usually try to get early morning ones. I did have something happen this week, that has never happened before. I had a heart CT scan scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, and they said to come early to fill out paperwork. They were able to do the scan as soon as my paperwork was done, and I was actually done and back home by the time the appointment was scheduled for. I wish all appointments would go that smoothly.
  14. Girl Scout cookies. Never buy them, because they would be too tempting around the house. If they are not around, we won’t be eating them. We just give them a donation, whenever we see them. Same thing with the Boy Scouts selling candy. Just a donation, so we won’t have candy around.
  15. I like it much better when they have the umbrellas up. In fact, the umbrellas is the photo I used for my exercise challenge group this week. Those footprints must have symbolized something.
  16. We will be deck 6 dwellers on Symphony in December. Since we don’t do elevators, it is easier to get the bags down for a walkoff.
  17. It was okay, but I still prefer the ones with Myron or Win. Story line was somewhat predictable. One thing I noted, was the typeface was hard to read in my copy from the library. I know publishers have been using different fonts that use less ink. For some reason, after reading a while, my eyes would get blurry. I thought it was just me, but Susan read the book after I finished, and she had the same problem. My next read, that I just got from the library, is this one. I guess I am misunderstanding your comment, or maybe you meant to quote someone else. My post was “Have a great cruise. We like Summit. Post some photos if you get a chance. Heck, post some videos, or live stream the cruise so we can feel like we are there. We are, after all, the unfortunate souls who have been left behind from the FOB cruise and now this one.” Anyhow, I would have made that cruise if things were different for us.
