  1. I agree with you on the web reveal! I was expecting/hoping that they would spend more time talking about the ship and less time just talking. Oh well. I've also looked at the deck plans. What deck do you think is a promenade deck? It doesn't look to me like there is one, except for the short sections like on the Royal class ships.
  2. We've cruised four times since the restart. On three out of four, we walked directly from security checkpoint to the ship. Fourth time, we were there a bit early and were directed to wait in the elite/platinum/suite waiting area. All people in that area boarded at the same time. You probably should get an arrival time anyhow.
  3. I hadn't noticed, but that sounds a likely reason.
  4. I understand that. My hubby would go berserk in one of those by himself. He's claustrophic.
  5. I would be fine with that, but my poor hubby would go berserk!
  6. That's not the smallest interior I've ever seen. On some NCL ship or another, we were in one that was 127 square feet. That number really stuck in my memory.
  7. I wish I was a young one! I'm 72, but the Lurline thing wasn't on my radar. 🙂 My husband's grandmother sailed to Hawaii on the Lurline way back when! I just asked him what the name of the ship she was on was.
  8. I, for one, have no idea what that means. 😂
  9. I skipped through the whole thing. Probably spent under 10 minutes on it. I probably missed a lot - or maybe not - but it was soooo bad.
  10. Interesting Cabana option in cabin types. No mention of Club Class that I've seen at a quick glance. I wonder if that's going to fade away.
  11. Yeah, that's not happening with me. No deckplans, no booking.
  12. Neither do I! Wonder what's up with that?
  13. This is a good suggestion for people who are having problems. It is the payment section that you would go to and add the deposit. One thing to pay attention to is make sure you've only selected deposit if that's what you're doing. I screwed this up once and paid in full, since the radio button for paid in full came up selected when the page loaded. Don't know if it's still like that, but it was at one point.
  14. My favorite thing about cruising and the main reason I do it is walking laps on an outside deck and looking at the ocean. So, I've been a big fan of the Grand/Crown class ships, with the full wrap-around Promenade deck. Until a few weeks ago, I'd only sailed on the Royal and the Majestic, and I found the walking/jogging track on deck 18 to be a fairly good substitute although there were some flaws. A few weeks ago, we sailed on the Discovery, and I'm a complete convert. They've changed the track on deck 18 somewhat, removing choke points. It's mostly wide enough to get around the folks who insist on ambling around very slowly and four abreast. Don't mind the ambling slowly, but it's really frustrating to get behind them and not be able to get around them at all because they simply won't move into single file or even double. I don't move at lightning speed either these days, but I'll always move over for people to pass. On the Discovery, I think that deck 18 track is a thing of joy.
  15. I agree, but why tell me? I didn't see the yappy dog. 😂
  16. Yes! That definitely counts. An animal belonging to a celebrity must be a celebrity animal, musn't it?
  17. That's pretty much what we saw on the Discovery a couple of weeks back. I always get the same thing - avocado/shrimp appetizer, beef, souffle.
  18. I hope you'll come back and let us know if/how that worked out for you. It looks like a great idea to me.
  19. I wouldn't know a pro hockey player if I met him on the street. 😂
  20. Well, I did say that I didn't meet him. If it's not worth a mention, why is worth you commenting?
  21. We were on the same cruise as Buzz Aldrin many years ago. We saw him but didn't meet him.
