  1. I agree with you on leg of lamb. The lamb chops in the Crown Grill are spectacular, and we had some as the extra in Club Class that were slightly different but just as good. I ordered them in a fit of optimism and was glad that I did.
  2. I haven't had good luck with fried fish in the MDR. On the other hand, my hubby has had good luck with it when I didn't order it. I'll never order a duck entree on a Princess ship again. Mostly, I've gotten way (way!) overcooked duck with soggy skin. Once, I got bloody raw duck, also with soggy skin. It's a shame, since I dearly love duck.
  3. My two cents on this thread is that both the older ships and the new ones have a lot to offer. I've always been a big fan of the full promenade deck on the Grand Class, but on a recent cruise on the Discovery I found that they'd improved the walking/jogging track on Sky deck to the point that I didn't miss the Promenade. Our favorite cabin category is on the new ships, so that's a pro for them. My hubby likes Gelato, so any ship with that gets a point. I really like the forward-facing, obstructed ocean view cabins on Lido on some of the Grand class ships. For me, it's a toss-up.
  4. We did that too last Fall! Started the thing playing and then went off somewhere without thinking. Can't get away with anything anymore. 😂
  5. I'm a big fan of the new method. I really hated those old muster drills.
  6. Just saying here, I've had some really, really good items from that one added dish.
  7. On our cruise back in August, I was able to book at the 50% discount rate in the app. For our February 23 cruise, it wants to charge me full price. I'm waiting it out on this to see if they get it fixed. I'd rather not book full price and then possibly have a hassle getting a credit on board. Your mileage may vary. You may be able to book in the app at the discount price.
  8. We like some of the silly stuff - the paper airplane competition and the egg toss. A few cruises ago, the employee who was running the egg toss really did it up proud. They play Chicken Dance, and the guy was chicken dancing up a storm. By the end of the competition, most of the crowd was chicken dancing right along with him. I love to watch people having fun.
  9. No, it doesn't. That's just for suites.
  10. Club Class is definitely worth it to us on the Royal Class ships if we can get one of our favorite M6 cabins. Otherwise, probably not.
  11. We only did one cruise with Celebrity, quite a few years back. It wasn't terrible, but I've had no incentive to go there again.
  12. I feel your pain on this, but it's always been like this - some promotions are for new bookings only. Since your sailing date, assuming it's the year, is within the penalty phase and you speak of canceling, I suppose you must have Princess platinum insurance or some other that lets you cancel for any reason. If it's Princess insurance, canceling for a non-covered reason gives you a credit on account, not a refund. Are you aware of that? I hope you won't let this sour you on Princess permanently. We've had some really great cruises on Princess over the years.
  13. I went to add my new passport into the app. Deleted the old one and scanned the new one worked fine. The scan, of course, picked up my first and middle name, as well as last name. I can't get the app to accept my middle name. If I remove it, the app's perfectly happy. Put it back in, and I get an error message that the first name has to be valid. I looked at my hubby's setup in the app, and his first and middle name show up in the first name box. Our passport info has been set up in the app/the previous incarnation of the app for several years. What have the rest of you seen on this? My name as is in the app is first and last only (since I couldn't get it to take middle) while the scan clearly shows first, middle, last. Is this going to turn around and bite me?
  14. We did our first and probably last suite cruise last Fall on the Ruby. There was a piece of paper in our cabin directing us to call for a reservation.
  15. You should be able to do it online. They ran a pilot program that ended a couple of weeks before I needed to get moving on things. I dithered around a bit on whether to hold off, since they said it would be back sometime this Fall. Decided it was safer to just get things rolling. Then they opened online renewals again a couple of weeks after I sent mine in.
  16. People ask about this from time to time, so I thought I would share my experience. I sent off the renewal for expedited processing on Thursday, 9/15/22, USPS priority 2 to 3 days. They received it on Monday, 9/19/22. I got a notification on Tuesday of this week that it had been approved and was being printed. I had it in the mail today. I paid for priority mail return. Happy camper here.
  17. Yes, you can get coffee drinks at Coffee and Cones with your package. I think they have just brewed coffee as well, but I've only gotten specialty coffees there.

    NCL Flights

Wow! Some angry people there, and I don't blame them.
  19. I would book one of these like a shot if only I weren't so cheap. Seriously, that front corner is my favorite location. I love large, front-facing windows.
  20. We've stayed in these, and we think the configuration is great. The bedroom area is set aside from the living room, sliding glass door, and bathroom. That allows my hubby to get up way too early, as he always does, and lets him move around quite a lot without bothering me. I don't know what video you saw, where it looked like these are just a big square, but that's not how they are at all.
  21. C409 shows as a connecting cabin on Cruise Deckplans. Are you aware of that?
  22. I'm sure some people will say you'll make, and I think you probably might. But I wouldn't book one that early. Any number of things could go wrong and cause you to miss it.
  23. There certainly has been different, but it's a personal point of view about what's better. If you like the idea of some OBC and the $1 deposit, you've basically got nothing to lose by booking a cruise that you like. If a better deal, in your opinion, comes along then you can always switch over to that.
