  1. Regatta will be at Pier 93 at San Pedro, called the World Cruise Center Berth 93. There is also a Pier 92, which is just steps away. The only other LA terminals are at Long Beach.
  2. Oceania boards by scheduled time (in theory), not stateroom category. Embarkation time is the same as boarding time. Once you get to the boarding area there are various lines for the different stateroom categories. Just get in the line for your category. It usually goes very quickly. First thing you know you will be onboard! Boarding in San Pedro has been very easy.
  3. I am on the September 20-27, 2023 cruise. My embarkation time is 11:00 a.m. I checked in last week. 11:00 a.m. is the earliest embarkation time, not 13:00.
  4. Try to reserve an Uber in advance. We were at San Pedro getting off the Regatta in May and there were no Ubers available for a short trip to a car rental agency. There were taxis, but they may be more expensive to LAX than an Uber. You can easily get off the ship before 9:00 a.m.
  5. Like @Jancruz, we used Luggage Free with excellent results. We shipped our luggage from California to Ravenna, Italy for our cruise in October 2022. We used Samsung Smart Tags and could see our suitcases sitting at the port agent's office in Ravenna prior to our arrival. They used DHL for the actual shipping. Read carefully the description of the types of items you cannot ship. It includes any liquid, lotion, or electronic items. Pretty much the only thing you ship is clothes.
  6. On Regatta in April 2023, we had the Red Ginger duck and watermelon salad at the Terrace Cafe for dinner on Asian night. It was just like in Red Ginger! We had the miso glazed sea bass one night in the main dining room (or maybe in the Terrace Cafe).
  7. I wrote the review quoted above based on my October and November 2022 cruises on the Pursuit and Quest. I was on the Pursuit first. Although the Quest bathroom wasn't as wonderful as the one on the Pursuit, it was still very nice. I loved the bathtub. The only negative was the lack of storage space on the Quest after the massive amount of storage in the Pursuit bathroom. I put my toiletries on trays and they fit nicely under the sinks on the Quest.
  8. I agree with ORV. I saw a video with FDR, Sr. many years ago where he said it is pronounced O-shee-anna. That was the name he chose, but he had to add the "i" since the "Oceana" line already had that spelling. He chose not to pronounce the "i." However you pronouce it, I am happy to see you onboard!
  9. It is terrible that Oceania has cancelled a day in Charleston. We had Hilo and Kona cancelled in May. Many people had plans to see the volcanoes for the first time. We never received any explanation. We went to Lahaina instead, which has now been destroyed by a wild fire. If your replacement port is Stirrup Cay you are in for a good time! The crew takes everything ashore for a nice barbecue lunch. Your beverage packages work while onshore and the pool servers are there to bring you drinks. It is a very pretty place to relax.
  10. We have been on the Regatta (and other Oceania R ships) in rough waters and they did very "well." I would like to know where you got your understanding from that "the Regatta doesn't do rough waters well"?
  11. @Sthrngary, thank you so much for your thoughtful and well-written posts. We really appreciate the time and effort you have put into your research and comments. May you cruise well......and often......and enjoy every single moment on your first Oceania cruise. I will be taking my 15th Oceania cruise in September. I hope you will make as many wonderful memories on Oceania as my husband and I have!
  12. We were in 12001 on the Riviera in November 2019 in the Caribbean. It was fantastic and huge! The bathroom was marvelous, the biggest I've ever seen on a ship, and much bigger than in an Owners Suite. It was a very quiet location and convenient to walk to the Terrace Cafe in 3 minutes (2 minutes if we were very hungry!) We were never asked to close the drapes at night. I assume that was because we were above the bridge. On our 12-day cruise it was windy only one day and the veranda was unusable. I would definitely book this suite again. Enjoy!
  13. Azamara fares include alcoholic drinks. I can get a margarita with a meal, at the pool, or in a lounge at no additional cost. If you want premium spirits, you can pay for that, but I haven't found that to be necessary. The Oceania House Select is only beer, wine and sparkling wine with lunch and dinner (and occasionally sparkling wine at breakfast).
  14. Many of the cookies on Oceania are sugar-free. They have no flavor. They are usually labeled as sugar-free, but not always. There are delicious cookies available onboard in Baristas. The chocolate chip are amazing! I was recently on Sirena and Regatta and both had excellent cookies in Baristas.
  15. I used Luggage Free to ship our luggage from California to Ravenna, Italy for a cruise in October 2022. It took only four days to reach Ravenna. It was great to board the ship and have our luggage delivered to our suite. We used Samsung Smart Tags, so always knew where our luggage was. I will definitely use a luggage service again. The only downside was that no liquids, no lotions, no aerosols, no toothpaste, etc. were allowed in the luggage, as @PhD-iva said. That meant that we had to carry them in our carry-on luggage and comply with rules requiring them to be carried in a one-quart bag. While we had TSA Pre-check leaving LAX and our liquids were not questioned, we were examined very closely at CDG in Paris and they made sure we did not have more than the one quart bag of liquids.
  16. The answer is that sometimes you get a call, sometimes you don't. On the Sirena in January 2023 in a B1 we received phone calls before breakfast arrived. On the Regatta in April 2023 in a PH1 we didn't receive a phone call, the butler just knocked.
  17. @bubbaed - You can change your choice of Olife perk at almost any time up to sailing, if you decide the excursions or the beverage package is a better deal for you than the OBC. I don't know exactly what the cut-off time is. I thought it was before final payment, but a friend changed hers about two weeks before sailing in March. The same is true with airfare. If you take the O air, you can remove it at any time before final payment.
  18. I was on the Regatta from April 16 to May 4, 2023, 18 days. We never had any of the problems described by the OP. Room service food was on time and at the proper temperature. In fact, I would say that 95% of the food was perfect in all venues. I am really surprised by the OP's comments. It is unfortunate that she experienced these deficiencies. She definitely should have said something at the time. Oceania is great at making things right when they learn of a problem. For example, the sticky buns at the Terrace Cafe were not "sticky." I let the head chef know and from then on they served true sticky buns! For future Regatta and Oceania cruises, you have the ability to make things right. Just say something!
  19. I love the quiche for breakfast in Aqualina!
  20. We were on the Sirena from January 11 to February 7, 2023. We had wonderfully sticky "Sticky Buns" every day. The apple pastries were also delicious! We, too, loved the new furnishings in our stateroom, a B1 7069. The glass shower doors were great! They were double doors which moved in both directions (in or out or half and half), so I could push them both into the shower out of the way during the day. Our stateroom attendant, Michael, was wonderful. The servers in the Terrace Cafe were fabulous, especially Marilyn, Joefe, Judy and Jennina. If you see any of them, please tell them that Nancy & Roy say hi! I know you will have a fantastic cruise!
  21. The Azamazing Evening flyer lists Duo Violins in Rhodes, Greece. We saw them in October 2022 onboard the Pursuit. They were fantastic! Very energetic and engaging with the audience. I highly recommend their show.
  22. Here's a photo from Red Ginger on the Sirena in January 2023. This woman is on her way out of the dining room after dinner. The Maitre D obviously had no problem with her appearance. (That's him on the left.)
  23. We had originally booked our tour of Petra with Jordan Horizon Tours for our March 2020 Quest cruise, which was cancelled. Jordan Horizon Tours was great to work with! They require that you pay in full several weeks ahead of the cruise. They refunded our payment very quickly.
  24. @TeaBag, yes you may post my response. We did have breakfast while waiting to disembark, since the ship wasn't cleared until 9:00 a.m. We then had a late lunch after touring Petra. One reason for the late lunch was that we had planned on taking a golf cart from the Treasury in Petra back to the entrance. However, the line to get on a cart was one hour long! So we had to walk back, which took more time than we had planned. FYI, the cost of riding in a cart for four people was about $90.
  25. @mihusker, we were on the Quest. We were supposed to arrive at Aqaba at 8:00 a.m. At 7:00 a.m. that morning the Captain came on the PA system and told us that Aqaba time is one hour ahead of the ship's time, so that it was really 8:00! Unbelievable. There was no prior notice, nothing in the Insider, no announcements the day before. We were supposed to meet our tour guide, of Jordan Horizon Tours, at 8:00 a.m. We hadn't even had breakfast yet! It was a mad scramble to try to reach Jordan Horizon Tours to let them know that we would be an hour late. It was 9:00 a.m. Jordan time before the ship was cleared and we got off the ship. Our tour driver was waiting for us with my name on a sign. I think he was used to such problems. He was very calm. It was two hours to Petra, with road construction detours, and one rest stop. It was also a two hour trip back and we arrived at the ship at 5:00 p.m. We had plenty of time to rest, take a shower and dress before boarding the bus to the Azamazing Evening. I highly recommend Jordan Horizon Tours. Tell them that you want to return to the ship by 5:00 p.m. Also, tell the guide (that the tour driver hires at Petra) that you need to be back at the van by the time the driver says. Our driver then took us to a late lunch at a nice buffet restaurant. We had plenty of time in Petra and arrived at the ship before 5:00 p.m. Importantly, find out the day before if the ship is on Aqaba time or not!
