  1. I recall when they brought The St Columba ferry on the route. At least she had stabilisers
  2. Only just found this thread and can’t wait to follow on. We’re on the Apex next summer with the same itinerary but sailing out of Southampton. We had two similar itineraries cancelled during the Pandemic so can’t wait to read your thoughts. Especially Flam, we were looking to book the train directly, ourselves on the cancelled sailing but this time we’ve used OBC of which we have a decent amount, to book the ships excursion. Will be interested for your thoughts if you do it yourself. enjoy your cruise .
  3. Looking forward to following along. We’re on Apex next summer to finally sail to the Fjords following two cancellations during the Pandemic.
  4. Loved the review. Thanks for everything Was on the Reflection last summer, and back on the Silhouette in September.
  5. Looking forward to following along. . We were on the Reflection sailing on a similar itinerary last summer. We have been to Rome numerous times previously both on city breaks and port stops. Last year we still needed Covid tests so stayed in Civitavecchia pre cruise as it was more convenient for testing. The ship and the staff were fantastic and I'm sure you'll have a great cruise. We are back on the Silhouette in September sailing out of Southampton doing the Canaries and Portugal, so looking forward to that.
  6. What a great review. Really enjoyed it, we did a similar itinerary on the Reflection last summer. Would agree about your day in Naples, far better to take the hydrofoil to Capri. Seems most of Celebrity sailings involve Naples as a last day port before Rome. We’ve done tours to Pompeii, trip to Sorento and our favourite Positano. 2019 on the Edge we did an open top bus tour and it poured down half way round. Last summer we literally just walked the mean streets of Naples,
  7. Phew, what an awesome thread this has been, followed along from day one. Have a safe trip home, and will look forward to your next adventure
  8. We have used PK Travel on two occasions.
  9. We had this itinerary cancelled 2 years running during the pandemic, was determined we would get there at some stage. Was waiting for Flam to be on list of ports as the 2023 sailing didn’t stop there
  10. We’re on the 16th August 2024, Apex Fjords sailing and we have all included, maybe speak with a TA
  11. Thanks for the review, really enjoyed following along. Silly is our favourite ship and we'll be aboard her again in September out of Southampton. Shame she won't be there again after this year.
  12. We like to think we are seasoned cruisers and cant believe we came to the Sunset balcony so late. We had our first one on the Reflection last summer in the Med and loved it. We have 2 further cruises booked and both are Sunsets.. Its the way to go.
  13. Following the thread with interest. We are onboard in September sailing out of Southampton to the Canaries.
  14. Following along. We're back on the Silhouette this summer out of Southampton to the Canaries, but we're booked on the Apex next year for a Norwegian Fjords sailing, so will be following with interest
  15. We have just the one. He looks just like yours They are quite a rare breed in the UK and we are always getting stopped and asked about him.
  16. StillLooking4Adventure I've been a member of this forum for a good number of years. I don't think I've ever seen a thread that had so many laughing and smiling emoji likes as on this one. Not only for your own posts but other people who have caught the humour(spelt the proper way😉) Well done that man, you have brightened up everyone's day !
  17. I wasn’t answering that, I was responding to your post
  18. Sorry you have lost me there. On anytime dining, as soon as a table becomes clear it gets relaid and is available again. On fixed dining as the previous poster said, it sits there unused until the next sitting.
  19. Post Covid , we sailed on the Silhouette in August 2021 around the UK, we were served sparkling wine . This summer on the Reflection out of Rome once again we were served sparkling wine. Just not immediately on boarding but at the World Class bar or whatever it’s called near to boarding area.
  20. Thanks once again for a great review. Will be keeping an eye out for the next one. Best wishes to you and Iain, have a great Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year
  21. Is that Erin from Idaho ? If so she’s back home having broken her arm recently. We met her on the Reflection sailing out of Rome this last summer
  22. Hi Guys, looking forward to following along again. Mexican Riviera was our first cruise back in 2001 on the Carnival Elation. we paired it up with visiting some British friends who were living and working in LA. At the moment we have nothing booked until September 23 on the Silhouette out of Southampton. Enjoy.
  23. Sorry Moby we're too old to do Long Haul in economy. Pre Pandemic Virgin Atlantic Upper Class was around £1500 each, which we thought was reasonable based on what we got. That has now doubled
  24. One of the benefits of booking on board at the Future Cruise desk, you can swap and move as many times as you like keeping the same perks and not losing your deposit. Just swapped a Caribbean sailing on the Equinox onto an Apex Fjords sailing in August 2024. We had two fjords sailings on the Silhouette cancelled during the pandemic, and this itinerary is almost identical to those, not the ones that Celebrity replaced them with in 2022 and 23. Another plus is we won’t be paying extortionate prices for long haul flights to Florida.
