  1. I'm hoping the way they are raising cruisefares they quit with the food cuts. I want more food choices like before of course. .. I for sure dont want more food cuts. That's why i said cut anything else but no more food cuts please. Cruise food is important to me. I expect more shoes to drop I wouldnt like the way inflation is though.. just please dont cut food more.
  2. And you know I knew that lmao. We cruised together remember? I could understand you telling that to someone who you didnt know knew this. Scratching my head. I'm saying inflation is still going up. It's still running over 5%, wages are going up. In the future they either have to give pay raises, cut food or cut services. My vote is cut services not more food cuts. This isnt over... . More choices have to be made. I'm being pushed on both lines to pay for more pay restaurants.
  3. Lol you know I've cruised since the new menus. I'm not sure why you are telling me this. Actually on oasis not so good but radiance was really good a week later. I sat near the kitchen I think and food was hot, fried fish crispy, steak cooked right. ..I thought the food better on radiance. Best since restart. For me it's a comparison. I'd trade some things for bacon at breakfast. My treat when I cruise. Carnival is still skipping it every other morning in the buffet. I have the 14 day journey carnival booked, and I know food hasnt improved. .. I did 3 on carnival after covid and decided rcl is better for me. I'll have more choices when I move to florida.
  4. Seems we both are booked nov 26. See you on harmony. Looking forward to it too. I love musicals.
  5. Early dining my allure was 5 pm. Very early!. I'd allow 1.5 to 2 hours for hibachi.
  6. I'm still thinking older ships have worse wifi but I'm not tech. My wifi works better on oasis class. Thanks. Idk you were going to Vancouver, I thought calf. .is the next cruise sold out, I didnt see it listed. Enjoy.
  7. I would choose a oasis class ship for more to do for all. A rel broadway show, ice skating and aqua show plus kids activities. Allure doesn't have the abyss added but any other oasis ship. .. though allure has the best show, mama mia. Better than on broadway most have said.
  8. When do you get back? I tried to look but either the next ship(s) is sold out or something. I don't see your ship again until june in alaska when I searched by ship. Sorry about your wifi. I'd think such a new ship would be better.
  9. I print out the boarding pass so it's easier to whip it out every time they ask for it. It easier to just hold it in my hand handy than to have to keep opening my tablet and doing the whole swipe and put in a code to open the screen when I'm walking to board.
  10. I'm solo and booked night 2 hoping for it to be turned into bogo and a 2nd meal booked later in the week. I'm ok if they want to cancel and rebook if I get 2 meals out of one. So far i havent asked or gotten a bogo but next time i cruise I plan to try it.
  11. I've never seen that, can you screen shot it? Doesnt make sense.
  12. Yes, though I dont chart increases like some here seem to, knew they had 2 raises. Dont cruise with them until next January, so I follow but not that close. And carnival isnt giving obc for discounted cruisefares .. if they deny my obc when I apply that I will mind as I think its $250 obc for 14 days. And bacon every other morning in their buffet .. I came back to rcl .. better value. Housekeeping doesnt matter to me, just food and cost/obc. We will see if I get obc as I got a discount, but not really cheap like a casino rate. I think by comparison rcl is generous.
  13. You quoted me, I never said that. 2 people quoted me to say tips went up, like they thought this was new news. Just reading now and glad to see smokey post, he sounds like the voice of reason. The difference doesnt bother me in higher tips and I'm fine with once a day housekeeping. I'm more of a foodie and enjoy someone cooking for me and washing the dishes. .. when that's gone then I'll leave rcl but this is a nothing to me, just someone else complaining.
  14. And you think this is news? Lol If YOU want to cut tips dont let me stop you. I keep my cabin clean and already asked stewards for once a day .. and never considered cutting my tips. Lots of cheap pax .. sorry. Any excuse for some to cut tips.
  15. Carnival raised theirs too and went to once a day housekeeping. Are you over there telling them too it's unfair. Get over it. Prices are increasing. I'd rather they cut housekeeping than food. Each has something important to them. I was already telling them just do me once a day but I didnt cut tips. I personally dont like someone in my cabin twice a day, so your whining is lost on me. I was already asking for once a day, leave me alone. I dont like to be fussed over.
  16. Rcl is made up of many things though. I think mama mia is 100% top notch, but hate italian food. Always hated italian food so I dont eat it or blame rcl. I eat something else that might. Imo more people are looking at pay restaurants than before but still love rcl shows. I'm seeing a bigger and bigger move to pay venues.. it's only some of the food I am less happy with, but not much tbh. It's harder to find free food to substitute but that could be me too as I'm cruising more. Excursions seem to be cheaper, but idk before covid you could pre buy at a discount. I'm very happy with some things.
  17. No they are available on certain days. Nothing is every day anymore. Not even shrimp cocktail.
  18. Why not say to yourself how happy you are gratuities havent gone up. Wages are increasing so it costs more to hire help. once a day is plenty for me.
  19. Diamond now gets you 4 drinks anywhere on the ship, any time. There is a continental breakfast and coffee machine in the diamond lounge and finger food but if the kids arent diamond I'd maybe go I for coffee but skip it this time. The drinks are no longer free during happy hour. The surf area and wall climbing is free but you have to sign a lot of waivers. 2 in my Bella group wound up in medical after the surf zone. Keep a eye on them, dont just turn them loose. Pizza is free but closes at 3 am now. I loved the funnel cakes at coco cay and the chicken sandwich, fresh and hot.
  20. As pax we are adapting to the new normal. We adapt rather than stop cruising. I got to where for dinner on carnival I rather do a pay restaurant. It's getting that way on rcl where some nights it's worth paying for a restaurant rather than the Mdr. I dont understand why some say if it's not perfect then you should stop. Bossy to me telling others they should stop cruising .. do what YOU want, and dont let the bossy people tell you what to do with your cruising dollars. I agree we all do what makes sense to us. For instance from texas there have been fewer choices. Its cheaper to pay for dinners than to fly. The new drink vouchers tip the scales in favor of rcl. No cruiseline is perfect. Rcl better shows. I did enjoy celebrity but have to fly. Liked ncl as well. I havent rules ncl new ship out.
  21. Theres also a accident down by Brownsville tx which might be a on purpose. I saw 7 dead and thought they had it confused with the Allen shooting. They are still looking at it trying to decide if it was a on purpose. I think lots are on edge right now.
  22. Lol quoting me works too so I get a alert, or like I said use the @ and then start typing my name until you see it come up, click on it ... so it looks like this @alex_drew see its blue so I know you will be alerted .
  23. Too close for comfort. Saw it yesterday. Bonnie is closer than me, though I'm north of dallas she is more north. No wonder people buy on the internet, malls arent safe.
  24. If you want to ask a certain poster put @ and then start typing their name so they get a alert. @twangsterseems to know about IT and might know about hearing aides connected to blue tooth if anyone does. @Biker19is how you ask him a question so he might see it. PS I cant search these boards either, dont feel bad.
