  1. This was better. As you mention, everyone got double pts. The one I mentioned diamonds in dec you had to be at least diamond or you didnt get double pts.
  2. Rcl came out with dec 2024 on harmony more than $200 more than what you can book dec 2023 for same weeks before xmas. I took it because friends booked who fly out from calif. Used to be when rates first came out they were lower than closer in. I guess we are adding to the problem by booking but the week before xmas is when they like to be home for xmas. Inside dec 2023 $460 vs dec 2024 $580 pp Balcony dec 2023 $602 vs dec 2024 $723 pp X 2 since I'm solo. It came out higher than what they themselves offer the previous year. Just seems odd to be higher than the year before, same ship, same iternary. MSC is building a new terminal in Galveston and might give them some competition.
  3. Thanks. I guess I missed it. Didnt realize it would be under restaurants. I'm blind.
  4. There was a diamonds in december a long time ago. They got double pts. I wasnt yet diamond so didnt help me.
  5. Is there some place to see the room service menu? I couldnt find it in the app or on a paper in my cabin.
  6. If only going going gone sale wasnt gty and solo cant book I'd agree with you. I see a great price and then put 1 pax and the rate zooms.
  7. It would be such a let down if you went to a place like this and ordered chicken or that oriental lol. Glad to see you guys had some local fish and shrimp. I'll be there oct 2024 .... so long away. Harmony 8 day does nassau and coco cay. I'll have to remember this place to eat.
  8. Check in at 45 days, I check in about midnight, just me and take the earliest time. The shows fill up, especially around 8 pm. If you dont care about what time you get no hurry. PS I read today shows opened for booking for feb. I saw dec 1 shows opened to book for jan.
  9. If you are still diamond, it's a push to that 340 solo discount. I added 4 legs on grandeur last may to get there early, though everyone says it's not worth booking extra to get there. I wasnt a fan of grandeur, I too am a fan of oasis class. I thought allure was really beautiful. Just did it a couple weeks ago, dec 4 and dec 11. Couldnt apply solo discount I got in sept. Had to pay final before pts posted. .. that's another thing I didnt know. Can only be applied further out to cruises before final payment that dp340. I pushed for it, but it sounds like you have more to go.
  10. Look in your planner, the refreshment pkg cost should be listed. Is it hidden because you both have the drink pkg. It shows my oasis at 24.99 per day. But yours may be different. They will have to cancel the drink pkg and you wait for a refund and pay now for refreshment pkg. It's good for fresh oj, vitamin drinks or different kinds of water, lots of other things. Do you drink specialty coffee.?
  11. I did b2b allure and it was 5 pm for early dining. Too early. I did the WJ a lot plus they didnt give me a permanent seat. Failure at the supervisor level. I asked first week if they could assign me to a table week 2 with other solos or couples. He claimed done. ..I was the 11th attached to a ten top with a family of ten. Never got fixed. Was not impressed with Mdr operation. How can you think being 11th at a family ten top ok? Not my family either. The only bad thing about allure imo.
  12. I did spirit to alaska round trip out of seattle for ease of getting there and home. Everything people above say isnt worth it. I was on spirit and it was a journey cruise which may not be the case now. They had a naturalist onboard and she would tell us what to look for the next day. I'd say my favorite cruise or close. I saw 2 glaciers and whales and lots I enjoyed. For me it was still worth it to just do the 7 day round trip cruise. And on carnival. ..though carnival was close to free last summer and I didnt go when the airfare was about 1k. I like bargains and seeing stuff on a shoe string I guess. I love seeing glaciers. I did some national park on my own where I could walk to some waterfall and see that glacier. Dont think I'd have made it on the carnival excursion that had limited time there. Rained cats and dogs. Still memorable.
  13. I just posted a deal alert a week ago on a rate that showed TX discount out of Galveston. I dont check NY so wouldnt see it.
  14. I just saw a $10 off coupon HOLIDAY ... I've seen $20 off recently as well.
  15. I dont have the link but do be sure and also google for a code for up to $20 off. It's quite expensive imo. The $20 off codes have been easy to find, but idk if they go into 2023. Even ezcruise parking I heard was quoting $155. Many are using lighthouse. Fewer shuttles but cheaper lately. Lots of grumbling about how high parking is lately.
  16. You can get 1 can of coke or Sprite lol Not worth calling about until you get to choose a amenity imo.
  17. I ordered the works minus chilli. Havent had scrambled eggs in years which they now mix with the potatoes. The eggs werent scrambled hard enough for my tastes. Should have gone back. Had only done oasis twice when it was quite new, so adding scrambled eggs was different. A lot less potatoes and onions and peppers than when I had it before. Too early in the morning for chilli for me. Would go again. Just make sure I ask them to scramble the eggs hard, not runny.
  18. I just think of it as 1 for regular, 1 for solo and 1 for a suite, JS or above. 3 total possible.
  19. Did the central park cafe not make specialty coffee at certain hours? I just did allure and the park cafe made specialty coffee, though I'm not sure of the hours.
  20. What I am finding out of Galveston, other than some random in and out princess cruises this winter, with low solo subsidies... everything else is higher. If I am booking harmony balconys for 8 days cheaper than 8 days in a inside on carnival dream. 7 days cheaper than vista or other ships I dont care about. And ncl prima .. double what rcl wants, though yes it's more inclusive. It's the cheapest rates. Even the new higher 2024 rates ... still less. MSC yes is going to build a pier, might be there in 3 to 5 years. .. right now rcl is the best prices. Above I meant to say I hate sept heat ... not all times of year...I missed the word sept. I'm a winter cruiser. That's why rcl can get by with higher prices. Go look at ncl. If you get loyalty discounts, beats carnival prices. My bet is people will pay the higher prices. My 10 day radiance cruise to Panama the price is up not down. I'm also betting the new 8 day to coco cay will be a success. Rcl is the best deal price wise if you have loyalty discounts. Ncl prima is crazy.
  21. I have to admit I keep swearing no more texas cruises out of Galveston. It's too hot. I hit Galveston and the humidity and heat, so hot and I say not next year. Nope ... .and then the price was so good a few months ago I couldnt say no.
  22. Even princess is giving me better prices. I'm loyal to my wallet. To me carnival is mostly luring casino players. My friend who went with me complained how hard it was to even get on a machine. Was a prime or something casino week. So many casino offers hard to book and miss them. To say carnival doesnt need to lure people back with loyalty perks is just a nonsense statement. Lots are booking becaus of cheap casino rates. That's who they cater to. Princess is offering lower solo supplements out of Galveston.. each gives offers to lure in who they want. To claim price makes no difference .. does to me.
  23. My cousin is arty and does crochet hats. She made hats for her kids cats .. yes the cats who have their own heating blankets. Cat in a hat.
  24. Last time was e coli. Wasnt fully recovered 100% before this one. And then mom started having emergencies. She is still in rehab. Seems no one but me can find things in her room and I put on a mask and went out there last sunday. I isolated 2 weeks but things werent getting done. Today my mom says her nose started to drip today ... oh oh. That's how mine started allure, sunday, first evening of my b2b. I tested negative for covid onboard so they wouldnt cover me ordered food to my cabin. I did skip all the shows all week. I hope I'm wrong and she isnt sick. Its unusual for me not to have a booked cruise jan or feb. Princess was very good prices. But im home trying to keep things together. Today she is ordering me to clean out her refrigerator... by Wednesday and im saying no. I dont take orders. My cousins daughter is always posting pictures of her cat with his heating blanket. Cats have a good life.
