  1. Well, today is a wash out! We have a stalled front right over us and it appears it will be like this most of the day. Even have flash flood alerts. Can’t complain as we have had lovely weather up to today! Graham sad news today and your right to enjoy life while you can. Our food tour was quite interesting and enjoyable yesterday. Had a Taro Burger and it was perfectly seasoned and delicious. Had some healthy drink elixirs, macadamia nut pie and we went to a herbal farm and tried some of their healthy teas and natural products at their “Farmacy.” Thanks Rich and all who contribute.
  2. Good morning. Yesterday’s gray overcast soon disappeared and we enjoyed another beautiful day. No sunset pics as last night just fizzled out! Thanks again for all the anniversary wishes. Today we’re driving up around the North Shore to go on another food tour. Yesterday we were visited by two highly endangered Hawaiian Monk Seas who after fishing all night decided to nap on our beach. They immediately get priority and a large area is roped off with signs saying quiet seals sleeping. They spent the afternoon until high tide then went back to another night of fishing and avoiding predators! Thanks for the Daily, Care/Celebration List, laughs, recipes and comments.
  3. First of all thanks for all the anniversary well wishes. After a lovely dinner and fine wine we returned to our villa to enjoy a wee dram and a gorgeous sunset from our lanai! We used our local Urgent Care for our pre cruise test. Walked in no appointment required and walked out 30 minutes later with certified results and either our insurance paid for it as we didn’t. This is the first day we have started with gray skies so will hang out on the lanai for now. Some pics of how our special day came to a close last night.
  4. Thank you all for the king Anniversary wishes.
  5. For many of you it’s good afternoon but at 6:30 AM I’m inclined to say good morning! Yesterday at the farmers market we bought 2 lbs of Kauai Deep Water Shrimp. They were huge and so tasty. We made a New Orleans BBQ shrimp dish and it was divine. Today it’s back to the lounges and sunning, loafing and reading. Throw in a swim and hot tub and it will be another perfect day. Though our 30th Anniversary is tomorrow we are celebrating today as our restaurant choice is closed on Monday’s. So Blessed to have each other!❤️ Thanks for the report and post. Prayers for our fallen heroes and their families.
  6. It rose overnight to $5.79 a gallon. Came out to about $52.00 for nine gallons! Yes, for years you have been paying so much more so I don’t expect any sympathy! 😁Kia Ora and hope your both doing well. Bruce & Sue
  7. Even the view from waiting in the car at the grocery store is beautiful.
  8. The Grove Farmers Market held every Saturday is a big event in Lihue, Kauai. Beautiful produce and much more.
  9. Aloha! Just read all the post? @summer slopeHappy Anniversary!💐 It’s tidy up day at the Villa so in order for housekeeping to clean you have to vacate for two hours. So will head up to Lihue for a couple of supplies and the car needs gas. At $5.60 a gallon! Yikes! Starting our last week. It’s been a wonderful vacation and we never tire coming here. So it’s time for breakfast and for many of you late lunch. Have a great weekend. Thanks for the report and post.
  10. Good morning! It was sleep in day so late in catching up and reading the Daily. I think blame it on someone else is a daily occurrence in Washington D.C.! Vacation’s will do this but I woke up swearing today was Saturday! We still have a week to go before flying to Oakland and spending a couple of days with son and family. Looks like a beautiful day out and the gals are already outdoors claiming their favorite spot under a partially shaded tree. For me a cup of coffee and some toast and I’ll be joining them. Later today I’ll be grilling some prime boneless Korean ribs that have been marinating over night. We’ll be celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary Monday but our special dinner will be Sunday! Have a great day and weekend and thanks to all who make the Daily a daily part of our lives! Mahalo!
  11. Lost my gallbladder a few years ago and went shopping the next day. Pray that is your experience.
  12. Aloha! Thanks for the Fleet Report and for kick starting the Daily! We had an enjoyable day trip to Kileaua Point Lighthouse yesterday. It’s also the most northern tip of the Hawaiian Islands as well as the furthest Western lighthouse in America. It’s a huge bird sanctuary as any white specks along the cliffs are birds. Today we get back into vacation mode. Pick out a partial shaded area plop down on a chaise lounge read and look for whales! It’s late in the season as most are migrating back to Alaska but there’s always a stray or two. Get any more relaxed I might need a stretcher to get to the lounger!😎 Enjoying Kauai time! Enjoy the rest of your day.
  13. That’s good news! Hope your both doing well. Have a great Thursday!
  14. Many PCC’s lost their jobs or maybe he or she is is on vacation. When is the last time you had contact? When they are on vacation they usually have a backup.
  15. In August we are no longer booked on the Volendam from August to November 2022. Thank you for all you do here on Cruise Critic.
  16. Good morning or afternoon. We had a wonderful dinner out last night at a local Italian Restaurant. Today we drive up to the North shore to visit the lighthouse and will stop at Costco on the way back to purchase a few items we are getting short on. We talked to our son and he has Covid so at this point just about our whole family has had a case of Covid. He’s doing fine other then being frustrated with self quarantine. Time for some breakfast and getting ready for our day adventure. Thanks for the Daily Rich.
  17. Good morning everyone. Well it’s another beautiful day in Paradise and our plans are a duplicate of yesterday. Slather with sunscreen, swim, hot tub, read and just watch the mighty Pacific. Oh yeah! A couple of libations along the way!😎 We did have a pretty sunset last night and a couple of pics of our view from our chaise lounges! Thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily post.
  18. Aloha! Thanks Rich for the Fleet report and all the contributors. My Mother’s Day dinner for the twins turned out being the best steaks I have ever cooked on a grill. USDA Prime surely makes a difference and cooking them Pittsburg style with a nice char was the topper. No sunset picture today as a last minute group of clouds caused a dud! I’m sure it did set as it is back up again and looks to be a beautiful day. What’s up today? As usual nothing! Laying on a chaise lounge body slopped with 50 sunscreen, reading, and watching wave after wave Roll in. Tonight is happy hour, pasta night, to bed so we can enjoy the same process tomorrow!😎 Wednesday, we will head up to North Shore and have reservations to visit the lighthouse as Barb has never seen it. So many things now require advanced reservations. We have been owners here since 2007 so there are very few things we have not seen or done. Enjoying the venue and Island is enough. Have a great week everyone. Mahalo!
