  1. I have just read a review, not from CC, that mentioned the Beatles band was cut from Joy. Can any recent Joy riders confirm or deny this? If true, it may be the last straw for me with NCL. Cavern Club without the Beatles? Say it ain't so! Source? A pop up from Google, tastyitinerary.com.
  2. With all the changes lately I don't want to rely on old board info. I will try and keep this simple. I normally wear clean dark jeans along with short sleeved casual or polo type shirts, (never tees) especially on NCL. When and where can I NOT dress this way on Celebrity (Summit)? Probably not on Chic Night in the MDR I think but in the theater on chic night? The casino? What about other locales and other nights?
  3. With anytime dining, if there are no reservations showing on given days for a particular time, does that mean the MDR is full for that time, or do they hold back a certain number of tables for walk-ups?
  4. We are on a May 15th cruise with multi-day stays in both Bermuda and Charleston. Can I expect that the casino will be closed as long as we are in port?
  5. Sorry, I stand corrected, I just looked again. I am sure when I posted, that Charleston was under Florida departures. I need a cruise...badly. i am losing it or maybe lost it over the last 3 years! 😂
  6. This IS the East Coast departures board. Florida is a subset of it and Charleston is a subset of Florida!
  7. We are in Charleston with Celebrity in May for 3 nights. I would like to get a general bus tour and also a carriage ride. They seem to be plentiful and I would like to go the visitor center and check them out as opposed to booking the ship's more expensive tours. Or do I need to book these non-ship tours in advance also? Anyone with experience at this in the spring?
  8. A more basic question. Is there a list of channels available?
  9. I have found reservation times for all nights on our Summit cruise but only 2 times for early 5:45 res. Does this mean that the MDR is fully booked the other days for an early dinner? Is there a chance they limit reservations so there is space for walk-ins?
  10. I don't have a dining package but was able to reserve the MDR on the app for the first night but not for any other nights. Why would that happen I am wondering.
  11. There are catamaran ferries from the Dockyard to both Hamilton and St. George. We did a day for each. In Hamilton the town crier does a free 2 hour walking tour which is well worth the price! He started at City nall which is a short walk from the ferry dock. This was before the pandemic so you can google to ensure it still happens.
  12. Yes, it's strange but I saw an arrival date once on my reservation but I haven't seen it again. It was for 2 pm so I wanted to change it to earlier. Maybe it was a glitch and maybe it isn't even 2 o'clock. Another first world problem. 🤣
  13. It sounds like you only see express pass on the app when you check in. Is that corrrct? I have been looking for it so I can change my arrival time. However, my checkin has not opened yet.
  14. OP here. Yes, I have been browsing some threads that deal with changes, I am big on NCL and they seem to be out-changing everybody and not in a good way. Final payment on the 14th of Feb. and cruise on May 15th so that is probably why no excursions for MV show up. I am most curious to see where we tender to and to whether it is close to Oak Bluffs to decide whether to book an excursion or play it by ear when we get off the ship. There seem to be a lot of local tours that may be more bank for the buck from Oak Bluffs. Thanks for your advice, everyone.
  15. Sorry, Arizona, I neglected to say port is Bayonne. We would be checking out of nearby hotel at 11 and the arrival time assigned is 1400 so we would prefer an arrival around noon. Ifonly, thank you for that reference. I can't see Express Pass on app right now, probably because I have not made final payment but will check as soon as I do.
  16. ....and if I do what are the chances I get it? How strict are they nowadays and what will happen if we show up at noon instead of 2 p.m?
  17. I forgot to add soft drinks as my wife drinks a lot of them. I read $3 a pop but that was pretty old..
  18. First time Celebrity cruiser sailing on Summit in May. Have done research but some questions remain, especially with lots of changes lately and lots of out-dated websites. We are not getting the all-inclusive deal so that leads to a few queries. 1- Can I presume tap water is free and drinkable at all the bars and restos? 2- What would the average price of a domestic draft beer be? Mixed drink eg. rum and coke.? 3- Can we get a table for 2 with some privacy in the Cosmopolitan for dinner if we arrive at opening time? Most 2 tops seem crowded together. 4- Where does the tender come ashore in Martha's Vineyard? Is it Oaks Bluff? 5 - There are excursions listed for all ports but MV. Is that because X has not been stopping there? 6- Are the outdoor movies of recent vintage? All for now. TIA
  19. I am interested in what is happening to the entertainment also and it would be nice to get a hint from the crew if they know if there are Joyless cuts coming, such as Footloose.
  20. Thanks. Just what I wanted. I noticed that MDQ did not appear anywhere in these. Are they scheduled at all or have they fallen to the entertainment cuts?
  21. About that $20 tour of Antigua. What was the company? I am presuming it wasn't an NCL excursion at that price.
  22. Traveler, my experience has been similar to yours, but what I was referring to was this particular review. Never have I been on an NCL cruise where the main production was only done once. With FDR's entertainment cuts, this may be the sign of the future. I loved Burn the Floor but not 3 or 4 times on the same cruise. I would like to know, (and never will) how many people missed out because of this.
  23. Thanks, I never realized I could see the daily planner without booking, The only puzzler: I can see nothing listed for the theatre in the 3 or 4 days I browsed!
  24. Correct me if I am wrong but I see only one production of the Million Dollar Quartet on the last night. However Burn the Floor and the comedians seem to be on night after night. So how popular could they be after pax had seen them more than once. The attendance must have been abysmal. And I wonder how many people were shut out of the major production, a lot perhaps forsaking future NCL bookings. They are killing the Golden Goose.
