  1. Those who purchase the Key program get an embarkation day lunch. It is the chops menu served in the main dining room. m
  2. We got that email four days prior to a recent cruise. Then the following day, the Royal app was accepted. I was quite surprised. if I remember correctly, the email lets you know you can go in and modify your bid. Maybe they are trying to get people to bid higher. We did not. As previously mentioned, Royal Ups are pretty rare these days. We did have a couple of days of mixup as every time we gave our cabin number, the previous occupants name came up in the computer system. We also got their welcome information, and did not receive some of the information/amenities. Took till day 3 to get it straighten out. good luck.
  3. Great comeback. Wish I had thought of that at the time. m
  4. Couple next to us played loud music on the balcony. After two days I called security who first came to our cabin to hear and then went to speak with them. Music stopped. Later that day, I was at the railing, and guy looks over and says, "Some prude Ahole called security on us". I didn't say anything. 😀
  5. Yes, not upside down in the south as well. Much of the tropical apparel (clothing, beach bags, etc) often has the pineapples in all directions. M
  6. They offer snorkeling at both places but Coco Cay in often much better. You can snorkel simply from the beach. If there is any age restriction, it will be noted in the planner. M
  7. The Pineapple, has become a symbol of the tropics. Most often, it means nothing more. Of course in the south it is a symbol of hospitality M
  8. I did read your post. You said it was missing from your December cruise and you wrote that it was "a perk that seems to have disappeared" since you had it in October but not in December. You were not sure why the perk was not on Jewel. So, a few fellow CC's let you know it is not offered on all ships. I don't know of any NON CK ship that offers the perk. Can you elaborate? I've sailed quite a few since the return to sailing and never expected, nor received the benefit as it is clearly for specific classes of ships. I don't recall reading that other ships had offered the perks but anything is possible. M
  9. The dining room has an extensive breakfast menu. Many hot and cold items. I have something different every day. Check the app as some ships have a brunch on sea days to replace breakfast and lunch. Enjoy
  10. Heard from "Someone" ? Can you be more specific? Someone who sailed? Someone who works on board a ship? Someone who works at the port? Someone who read it on the internet? How about Ship/Port/etc M
  11. The perk did NOT disappear. It is ONLY for ships with a coastal kitchen. The perk compensates for the CK dinner reservation limitations. Jewel has NO ck, therefore no need for the compensation benefit. M
  12. I agree they need a P number. They did have the "9" D+ number ( don't think there was pinnacle when the number was dedicated) but it has been published so everyone calls it. Frankly, by the time one reaches pinnacle, they often know more info than the poorly trained phone agents. Plus, the booking changes are often intricate. I once asked for the least expensive balcony on mariner and the agent tells me that would be Central Park and then tells me that that category is sold out. There is NO central Park on Mariner! Hung up and called back. M
  13. I hit an additional Pinnacle milestone so naturally it is number for a block. I asked the LA about it. She said it was coming that night. It was never delivered. We were B2B and asked her again the second week and finally got it the last evening. I know they tried to eliminate the block program and wonder of that will be revamped too. 70 points happens quickly for many, especially with double points. M
  14. I am satisfied with the gift list but can’t recall when I have received the items they offered. The substitutions they decide for me are often of lesser quality. m
  15. I am on Jewel now, so if you have a specific question, I can try to answer it. We have been on for the last cruise and current cruise. Our Internet has been the worst since the return to sailing. We are constantly knocked off, and have no Internet service in our cabin. Staff is extremely friendly and efficient. Staff shortages are still evident, in tables being cleared in dining room/Windjammer, etc. Food in the dining room has been pretty good. Only went to the Windjammer once or twice, and most of the tables are very large round tables so WJ seating is an issue. entertainment has been OK. m
  16. Mine was guarantee on the barcode, but when I transferred it to Apple wallet, there were some numbers under the barcode that indicated my cabin number. Try that. Also, you really don’t need luggage tags in advance, the porters will have them for you. m
  17. I don’t have a crystal ball but something tells me the gift selection will not be an upgrade from the current list. Something like, “in order to ENHANCE your experience and make your decisions easier, we have reduced the number of selections available, but will simply provide what we want, because what you select will likely not be available.” m
  18. Solo points, double points promotion and points rewarded for complimentary casino cruises. I know of a few passengers who went from gold to pinnacle in a year or so. m
  19. Most closets, especially those on radiance class, have an intermediate bar in the closet so you can hang clothing on the top and/or bottom rod. double hanging space. m
  20. We are currently at RESORT WORLD. This place is fantastic. Two beautiful pools, endless chairs on the beach. We got a terrific deal around black Friday week on our excursion. We rarely buy a ship excursion, but it was too good to pass up. The staff is super friendly. given the opportunity, I would definitely return. m
  21. Get over it. EVERY ship has a D lounge and since the daily drink vouchers, the lounges have not been too crowded. The evening appetizers are often identical. In some cases, concierge lounge access is off-limits to Pinnacle’s as well. m
