    I really enjoyed the Gem and Jewel, I love spinnakers lounge and the great outdoors. We also prefer freestyle dining, do not like a set time.

    Interesting, I don’t think I’ve heard of ships using Bayonne as a port stop.

    So cruises from port Canaveral should include an hour shuttle from Orlando? Why would one even need a shuttle to nyc, drive to Bayonne or fly into Newark, quick trip to Bayonne.

    You can get a glass of water anywhere. If unlimited alcoholic beverages and soda means I can’t sit at a bar and order coffee and tea, that’s fine, I don’t think I’ve ever ordered a coffee or tea at a bar.

    FYI the NY giants, NY jets, and NY Red Bulls all play in NJ. Bayonne is much closer to Manhattan than port Canaveral is to Orlando.

    I’d say LaGuardia, jfk, and Newark in that order, but you need to look at fares and travel costs.

    When we were on the BA as soon as I saw the pool deck I immediately went to the spa and bought passes.

    But way more expensive than even 2 connecting balcony cabins.

    Even balcony cabins are tight for 4, I’d go with connecting cabins. You will need to book an adult in each cabin, just go to GS and get extra key cards.

    Times have really changed, all of my kids lived in coed dorms with the opposite sex next door and across the hall, one daughter had coed hallway bathrooms.

    I agree not having the cabin ready when cabins are officially open is a problem. However, with staffing cuts and once a day cabin cleaning, one should not expect the cabin being cleaned in the morning or even early afternoon, some are still getting cleaned up until 6 pm.

    The gratuity on the UDP is $20 a day, the cost of 1 1/2 cocktails. I can and will drink more than 1 1/2 cocktails a day easily. If you don’t drink 1 1/2 drinks a day uncheck the box and pay $0.

    Probably 1% of those who cruise are on cruising social media. If they were in a rush they should’ve left it on the bed.

    Three of my kids were just in Manhattan last week (different days) and felt safe, my niece just moved from Manhattan to Seattle for work but loved the 10 or so years she lived there. I remember going there in the 80’s, a little sketchy.

    I was glad I could get in touch with my daughter when I realized it was past 1 am and she wasn’t in the cabin. Turns out she was playing monopoly and lost track of time. It’s also handy when you know they’re at the buffet and you’d like a little snack brought when they are returning to the cabin.

    Tip on every drink, just like on land.

    Not on the jewel class ships, they don’t take reservations and they are not needed.
